    CV population according to "spreadsheets"

Yep, same as shooting the last plane in the whole attack wing first of all. "never mind that first one incoming right now with the torpedo, shoot that last one, that will be the one that finishes us"...

    CVs unplayable - demand refund

They could just as well implement those changes NOW. - dump the nonsense damage sponge "reload booster repeat" reserve squads, ONE flight would be hard enough to balance; - recognise that CVS do spotting. Make it a TASK. Apply spotter planes; - give them fighter squads to destroy those spotter planes. To chase enemy planes, too. - make alterations to AA --> slow down attack planes, give players time to respond. Best would be IMO to give planes "cruising mode"where they do not attack and do not spot) and "useful mode".

Yes, it is just WORSE if you have a N00b vs an El2azer in a CV, because they can deal enormous damage. Then again... as I can do 180k easily in a Conqkek... why would that be not JUST AS bad, to have me in a Conqkek vs a bordersurfing HE spamming N00b in same? And... The answer is: because that bordersurfing N00b will likely do at least 2/3 same damage. Yes the flak is completely "wierd", sometimes it happens to be accurate though. Meaning: is usually weave/accelerat/whatever, not caring much about where the FLAK actually shows up. Because I know it is not related... sometimes I fly through a black cloud, nothing happens. I actually get surprised WHEN IT DOES... as in: dives in black cloud... BOOM... WUUUTTT!!??? AA shooting through islands... radar detecting through terrain... Planes speeding up when climbing... slowing down when coming down a mountain... I'm sure all that is working as intended as well...

Yes some stuff of that has changed... but still, has not. - I often drop fighters over a friendly DD. Then the other CV tries to get him... - a CV still scouts... problem is, this is not 'recognised'as a role. Hence it 'does not exist', so it isn't 'balanced'. OK except for 2,5km detectability for DD... - damage dealing, well that's all they do now... (is what WG seems to think). That is the general problem, really. The fundamental concept HAS NOT changed. Just they do not even see some stuff that is happening. Well, you can still drop fighters for spotting... but I agree with most of that. Just WGs "methods of balancing" are as crappy as they come. Exactly. Their "methods of balancing"... Agreed. Many things are simply not workable. There are NO solutions for it, except radical change. but the rework mainly is: - the view/ way you control the planes (it might be better for PS4 but whatever...); - ending of one CV disabling the other (which they could have doen with RTS just as well); - putting an end to XCV-deplaning (which they ALSO could have done n RTS). Well, the 'view' and user interface didn't appeal to me at all. Also, we'd be back to THOSE flaws... which are also wrong.

    CV population according to "spreadsheets"

Yes, but they could have achieved it with RTS CVs as well. Just give them insane AA, an automated defence-fighter and auto-heals. Done. True. But N00b players do not have any effect anyway. Like Conqkeks sitting at the mapborder spamming HE, or Shima doing same with torps. The problem being, that (green) Conqkek will have a 'balanced' red BB in the other team, and the s Shima will have a DD. But the useless CV will have a very powerful red CV added to the team. So they must not be more powerful than any other ship. The problem is: they shouldn't be able to farm the whole fleet. But that is part of the problem: ALL THEY DO is farm. No area denial. No spotting (yes do... but not as a function...). Correct. Works much better if you actually know what other ships can do though.... Not agreed. They made a bunch of money... They also managed to prove themselves capable of frustrating the playerbase, any part at will. Oh, and for me, at least the CV works now... well... better than RTS which was always buggy. Plus I do like the view a lot more.

    Yoshino or Salem?

I'm currently at the same point, I do play CB too - so my guess is I should take Salem. Am I wrong? No CV, usually short distance, and the RN meh-heal. IMO Yoshino is sort of like Zao. Great torps, but quite 'blappable'.

This is the thing WG doesn't understand.

    CVs unplayable - demand refund

I have similiar battles, but unlike you and @El2aZeR I'm quite a potato (and I mostly play in weekends, so yeah). I think you'll agree 'shooting the last, non-attacking plane' is kinda counter-intuitive though. Yes, agreed. If they'd only listen to the ones playing the game and being actually good, instead of listening to the whiners that will suck at whatever class they try. ... it sure will if you listen to the ones that are bad instead of the ones that are good. AS you have shown in your analysis of what WG thinks is the 'data'. They do not realise what they have analysed. I'm quite sure the rework can be balanced just as easy as the RTS. There's good things now, but they could have implemented them in the RTS as well. GOOD: - One CV cannot simply delete the other (basically they could have added áutiomatic fighters and AA to RTS as well...); - CV does not get deplaned, but hey, they could have fixed that up for RTS as well. BAD (IMO): - counterplay from surface ships is mostly RNG; - attacking surface ships is mostly a matter of tricking that RNG... - no skill in survival of planes or the CV, it is all RNG, everything is automated. CV roles: - spotting (and this, as a role, is denied... but gets done anyway... denying CVs spot is very stupid IMO); - killing large ships, finishing off targets (but they are considered DD-killers?); - surprise-attacking ships that cannot be reached otherwise. The main thing is 'automation'. This takes away any skill-requirement, no skill needed = no satisfaction. As in, give the green player a "shield". It will work preventing damage by the red players. But if you do not require the green player to push the button at the correct moment, it is just damage balance. And you'll have to re-balance it by upping the damage that comes from the other side. So, give the red team fatter rockets. Say, after 10 hits they get an atomic rocket. But if you 'automate' that (no button to launch it, just happens automatically) it is also just damage. Yeah you can 'even the odds' in damage given/taken. But no. That is not balance. With balance you'd give the green player a button to activate shield, and he'd use it well (or not). And then you'd give the red player that rocket, and he'd use iot well (or not). You'd watch the game, and see if one is OP or the other, and then nerf accuracy or damage/protection or whatever. What WG does is they see the green shield is OP, so they add an automated magic fart to the red player which gasses the whole green team. Like now, the AA shoots at the last plane, neither the CV-player nor the ship-player has any control over that. It is pure RNG, you might as well just give the CV less planes. Or give him 200, as 199 get shot down anyway.

    CVs unplayable - demand refund

Well, the problem IMO is that there IS no new solution. CVs made BBs redundant. So unless you have some method of artificially keeping them from murdering the whole lot, it will not matter if you have RTS or the current iteration - and WG is being VERY creative at throwing @%$@@^ at a wall, so far. The same problems that made RTS CVs so strong are still here. Making two, three attack flights with "reserve planes"has just added more problems. It sort of multiplies the problem, really. And leaving everything to RNG (just making it stronger or weaker) doesn't make good gameplay. It just evens out the damage scores, sort of.

    CV population according to "spreadsheets"

That's a bit to cuyniocal; (I understand though). What they said they wanted to do is: 1. make sure a BETTER cv-player could not shut down a N00b player, and after that just kill the whole field at will ; 2. make the CV more 'in line' with the way other ships are played. so they'd be more popular. They did achieve #1... but they achieved #2 by making it such that every numbskull could just ransack the whole field. So IMO they sort of succeeded, but so far they manage to royally mess up part 2. 100% agreed to the crap on the wall part.
  11. I meant, they're on sale pretty often uusally you pick them up at X-mas for 50 dubloons or so. Or buy a Tachibana for 89cts, sell it, keep the port slot. Plenty cheap IMO.

    CVs unplayable - demand refund

No it wouldn't. I have seen many stuff pass here that would "balance" better than what WG is doing. For example they made the continuous DPS AA very small at the start, and introduced FLAK. This was supposed to be a challenge, but the planes were too fast, so they flew right through. Guess what, instead of slowing planes down, they made flak weaker and kicked up continuous AA bubble... If WG would produce a car, they'd never invent airbags. They'd just pour in concrete in the car until the car was stronger than the wall. And then they'd make a bigger wall, and more concrete... and...
  13. BLUB__BLUB

    CV population according to "spreadsheets"

Well, IMO nerf after nerf is not balance really. What WG is doing is like this: You make a person walk on a rope, well this needs balance, so... how do you do it? Instead of giving him a wider or narrower rope, they hang a noose on his neck and call it 'support'. And then they add lead to his shoes...
  14. BLUB__BLUB

    CV population according to "spreadsheets"

Correct. It's still do-able in a CV though, just not "git gud", but "git very damn good". But well... somehow stuff with WG does not compute. For example: Did you know that a higher tier ship is LESS LIKELY to get set on fire? Now that is why they giove higher tier ships higher fire chance on the ammo. So, when you get uptiered, you have LESS guns, of LOWER caliber, a SMALLER health pool, and LESS armour. And on top of that, the ships that you face are less likely to burn. Hmm...

    CVs unplayable - demand refund

Patience masterrrr we are only potatoes, and we need to learn... Besides, sometimes even the damn AA cruisers stick together. Yes I found out the hard way... ... and he's damn right about it, too. CVs would be more enjoyable (well, as g far as blapping eachother goes) when WG would finally listen to what experienced CV players had to say. It is hard to adapt when 'WG solutions' are quite the opposite of what you'd expect... AA shooting the LAST plane instead of the attacking ones... man...
  16. I kept New York, while I have Texas... keep ships you like. They're only worth some credits, of which you (most likely) have plenty. Port slot? Well... Port slots are on sale and dubloons fall out of crates to buy them... ...even a potato like me has 15 free slots... I expect to find some ships that I like. (one euro buys you a portslot... and you can sell the Tachibana that comes with it... or keep one... get the dubloons).
  17. BLUB__BLUB

    CVs unplayable - demand refund

If you have a T8CV and get TX yptiered, it doesn't matter much if it is an AA cruiser or not. More like, something with Russian paper BBs and DamCon and whatever. Oh, and more AA than Santa has Xmas trees.
  18. BLUB__BLUB

    CVs unplayable - demand refund

It is why I do a 'single attack squad' spotting trip, always. Usually two out of three planes die when I "find" the AA cruiser, even if I turn around and boost like hell. And then they complain about CVs spotting, but it is something you MUST do. Actually I can hit a kremlin with a Lexington, but it is a one-way trip even if I use the slingshot. And that Kremlin has to be half dead (AA killed by HE) already else I won't even make the drop. Will cost 6 planes per strike, none will live. And then he just puts out the fire, MEH damage. Because he knows you'll not be coming back very soon...
  19. I'm kinda meh at DDs, so nope. I'll be getting myself some camo/flags and stuff but that's about it. Exeter was a huge grind but worth it, I like the ship. Quite sure I won't like French DDs. Unless as CV food.
  20. BLUB__BLUB

    CVs unplayable - demand refund

That is a fact. But flying into heavy AA gets easier the higher you get. T6 CV vs T8AA is baaaadd. But... T8 CV meeting Minotaur, usually your planes die and then somebody else spots the Mino, and then you know why.... I have a solution for tha though... well... sort of... I drop all except the last attacksquad. Then I go spotting for that Mino/DM/Worcester etc. At least I lose only 3. Then avoid that sector like the plague.
  21. BLUB__BLUB

    Texas nerfed hard

Meh, I have enough other planes, no need to use rockets.
  22. BLUB__BLUB

    Texas nerfed hard

Meh rockets... And Texas... still good...
  23. BLUB__BLUB

    Texas nerfed hard

Maybe TX, but not T8. Better drop bombs.
  24. BLUB__BLUB

    Texas nerfed hard

You should not attack DDs, they are worthless targets. Only attack DD when it is threathening your CV or threathening your caps. Other ships are more suitable for the tasks of killing DDs. They are called cruisers.
  25. BLUB__BLUB

    Texas nerfed hard

Yeah WHEN they do... usually, one or two. Back to the HVARS for me, 7-8 hits in one go. BTW unless it's Texas, then 6 dead planes in 10 seconds.
