    Allrighty, but you can't boost a biplane, well you can, but... I think he's a bit inexperienced, anyway - no T8 BB can avoid a well-placed torpedo drop.

    It's BS and your next comment even shows it... The RTS squadrons were bigger than 1, 2 or 3... Plane HP can be balanced against AA, no problem. In the RTS time, you'd shoot down one on the sides --> slow down or speed up, depending what side. Or you'd shoot down one or two in the middle, and you'd try to escape through the gap. Does. But what they are doing now is balancing a flawed design by buffing/nerfing damage output. This doesn;t make it 'better', it makes it just as boring and RNG-based but at least "fairly distributed". And yes, when games get shorter you'd best go for Alpha-damage (AKA shoot AP with Conqkek and push like hell).

T6 Furious is fine IMO - this was a T8 game Me T6, two cruisers T7 rest was T8), most were in CLAN. Mind not the worst clans either (two of the reds were LUSOS). Here's the T6CV in a losing team, taking home 85k credits - 144k with premium. Plenty. But... I killed TWO... one almost alone.     Mostly agreed. IMO "no guts no glory", so I'd applaud it if CVs would no way be able to strike anything "in the open". They'd have to "pop out of stealth" and then do damage, like DDs. Like, fly around sneaky to surprise butf* an islandhugger. I try that now too. If you stay undetected, the AA will not fire. It's still fun. Can't get enough DMG though. Should post a replay, then you see what I mean. I do use the HE, but not a lot. It's DoT and with current roflstomps, just no. Here's a HOOD replay, shows how I play. It's a shorty.     I'm going in dry... 13 km or so. I'm following the DDs at less than 10km, in front of cruisers. OH WAIT! sometimes there's an island near the cap, all cruisers then hide behind THAT one. But the accuracy is either spot-on, or UEBER TROLL. Mostly good, but... You know, just AT THAT MOMENT you most want it... it decides: "screw you".

    Then take Conqkeke and spam HE from 25k. IMO the most unfun way to play it. But they'll do more damage than me. Actually, maybe not - depending on how long the game lasts.

    Well, I do agree with you there, a lot. For me the RTS had just too many times stuff didn't work. Too many buttons and not at all like the other ships. So I tried the test-server, and I sort of liked it. Controls and views were much more to my liking. I had no idea what kind of damage to expect. Because either you took a CV, and then there were other CVs but you could not go near them because of insane AA and neither could they go near you. The rest of the ships were potato-b0ts. If you took a non-CV all you'd get is potato-b0ts, and no CV. I like the gameplay. However, the only way it is "balanced" now is DMG - and it is total BS, by AA "shooting at the last plane". Before, it was just ridiculous how easy it was to do damage. But... THAT is the only thing WG expects from CV. No spotting... (yes there IS spotting... buit it is a side-effect..), no huge points for protecting friendly DD or ship... AA But IMO the idea of 'more flak less DPS' is good. No matter what the damage is you get, or take. There needs to be some control of that FLAK though. And a way to avoid it, if you're any good. Planes need to be much slower attacking if that is gonna work, to give the surface-ship time to react. I think giving them "different patterns" to choose from, might work. The attack-planes then have to be steered through. You'd never be able to just power in straight and launch. And, the surface-ship could change FLAK-pattern while the attack has started. Also, AA needs to stay as 'fresh'. There's no way you can balance disappearing AA, it is logical planes will get stronger. In surface ships, it is also usually not like at the end of the battle you only have one turret or one torp launcher. Or, that your armour belt gets softened up. Squads The current idea of having 3 attacks ion one flight is BS. The replacing of downed planes is even more BS. If the AA has shot one down, then that means there is a "hole" in the hit pattern. Surface ships could have some "pattern" AA that either aims for the middle, left or right of the attack squad. And then (if they shoot the middle) they can escape through the hole (if torpedoes). Or aim at the first/last and plan to either speed up or slow down like a nutter. Of course CV-pilots can compensate by giving more or less lead... Flying height/spotting IMO there should be TWO heighst. As attacks need to get (much) slower for the game between AA and CV to happen, travel can be faster but also the (un-intended) spotting needs to go. SO send planes either "attack mode" or "travel mode". And while they travel, they do not spot. So if they want to spot, they need to go to attack mode, will be lots slower and vulnerable to AA. I think THAT would offer much more challenge-and-counter.

    Well, getting a spanking is never fun, but aside from that there are plenty ways to balance CVs. It is all a matter of 'calculus'. You can calculate how many shells a BB can shoot in a game, too.

    I agree a lot with El2azer, but balancing the 'rework' CV is just as easy/difficult as balancing the RTS. There are only differences in view/steering et cetera. The problem is, have 3 strikes - and more like that. Basically if WG went back to ONE strike (and mostly the other two get 'ditched' anyway) it would be a lot easier.

    Well DDs can have, but usually they still manage to make enough damage to at least break even. And if reasonably "with brain", make the top 3. Takes a quite good CV player to make top 3. BTW, I usually play weekends - well yeah 2cts a day, but I will not have any benefit in weekdays. So I hope WG starts a "weekend warrior potato" version, someday. And ANY amount is too much if you do not enjoy it. It only helps with credits and such.

    Yes they do. But if you can't do enough damage with them, you're just a floating piñata, eh? I didn't say you should complain or that it is too expensive. I even might take out a year myself (at X-mas when it is half price). Same as I'll buy a ship or something if I think it's good. WG needs to make money too. But that doesn't matter for balance, does it? It doesn't mean you make more or less damage. It just means you need to make less damage to have a credit-profit. Now, no matter if you need or don't need to pay to get shot to bits, or to do meagre damage (end up bottom teamlist) explain to me how does that make it more fun... THAT is the problem. DDs are not 'poor DDs'. More often than not they end top of the list - which is why people like playing them. The only way they are 'poor DDs' is when WG decides to put a T6DD in with two T8CVs. And yeah that sucks indeed. Bigtime. But it also sucks when T8 CV gets put in TX. Because WG and balance? --->

    Well it is sort of the same, I think they are the same guns too. It just has more crap to throw on the wall... hoping something is gonna stick. Which is also why nobody wants the big guns. Means bigger crap, but less of it.

    Yeah, but if the CV loses too many planes without any revenue then it's the same. Floating around uselessly might sound better than being dead, but creditwise it is not. And, we're all dead anyway at the start as far as that goes. Well, that just means you have submitted to the WG moneygrab. There's no valid reason there for 'balance'. THAT I agree on. I do enough damage in a T8CV (even if I get 75% uptiered) to make service cost. So... it's plenty easy enough. But so are DDs.

    ...but same as the CV, he gets full service cost dead or not. The "risk" is losing out on credits, not risking an untimely death. We are ALL considered dead at the start already. I've seen (and actually used/been one) DD-potatoes yolo in and making FAR MORE than the service cost.

    I agree that's pretty stupid. But I think the whole idea of having "three strikes" is extremely stupid. Like a DD having torps, and then there are 2 more volleys of clone- torps ready at 2km and he can start them at will.

    I agree with most of that, but the "you didn't risk anything" is a bit wrong. It's not that I think CVs risk something. But neither does the DD. Because you get FULLY CHARGED for service cost anyway, doesn't matter if you die or not. There is no 'risk anything', kinda weird really, so what you risk is getting "no damage" and not covering service cost. So IMO, nobody risks anything as you are 'declared dead' at the start of every game anyway. Just a matter how expensive/cheap you will sell your butt.

    I find Conqueror sort of "has a temper". Probably some 'chance RNG' put in by WG. Sometimes it is really accurate, in fact usually I can hit everything around 15-20km. And there are those games when you cannot even HIT (I mean full salvo miss) a broadside Kreml < 10km. Those are the games I go "yep, zero points for you", and which is why I always have a ramming flag... BTW it won't matter for those that spam HE from 25k anyway.

  23. Today I had the honour to be on the side of the MASTERRRRRR...and also met @FallenOrchid Actually I was lucky as I was in Hood and might have been them on the reds. Well, do I need to say we did win... (I even put that in game... well might as well... ) yes the LEGEND lives up to his fame @El2aZeR So... rushed to cap (in Hood...), managed to smack a DD (LOL) and after that I killed the enemy CV to save masterr some work (needed 3 attempts though, shame on me). That's about all though because when I was finished with that our team had ROFLSTOMPED the other team. Still -pretty smug I managed to whack that DD. YES THAT'S HOOD WHACKING A DD and capping.     With torpedoes, indeed. If you do it with divebombers you can shorten and stretch the "jump" from ~6km to ~9km. Just push boost/brake. Torps on RN and US aren't that "long legged" so I usually take the divebombers.
