    Meh, due to the "uneven tier" of CVs I usually do fail-divisions, no problems whatsoever (T6CV --> T9). You'll just need a few more of them to act as sponges. Which they already found out. IMO >100k in a T8 battle wit a T6CV is quite satisfactory.

    Mate, you're whimsically inconsistent. First you say they are different, so IFHE doesn't work, and now you say they ARE large HE-shells so changing them would change ALL shells in game. It's easy really, all shells are just that"shells. And WG can call them whatever they want. But the thing is it is just a matter of setting values, and adding/removing some parameters. They can make AP bombs on Furious, or give Enterprise HE. Just by typing. Easy as that. They can make overpen on HE-bombs, no problem. Or just call them AP with fire-chance. It's not like they have to send in trucks and replace anything by mechanics. Also, I imagine Mr.Conway & Shehles et cetera all will be dressed in burka when they go out for a drink...

    They just set certain values, like "fire chance = 0" for semi-AP. If they were a separate entity, well, then I'd believe it. But if they are the same as HE, then IFHE should work, too. It would be relly easy to change them to sort of AP, with fire chance. And then hey could easily overpen. You didn't read it properly. I'm quite sure they are just some values. How much work do you think was the changing of ALL secondaries to HE?

    Didn't ever see HE overpens. Except they aren't really like HE shells, else you could get IFHE on them too. So my guess is it IS possible for WG to make HE-bombs overpen, as the bombs are a 'separate entity' of sorts.

    I never learned, because I hate it. I like the QUeen E better, sneak up, load AP... BOOM... and then try to get away with it. Much more fun in gameplay. Yeah lower score, usually.

    The main problem here is the MM. And, this is all WGs fault. Where they had the option to do something to 'reverse it'. Same as, higher tier ships have less chance to catch fire. But they have more potential to dish out fire. This is dumb. Because now, the lower-tier ship faces higher-tier ships that are less susceptible to his fire, AND they can hurt him more. It should have been reversed. Lower tier ships having more change of dealing fire - and less susceptibility. THEN if you are uptiered, at least you have a chance. You ALREADY have less armour and less big caliber. Bob pen could be an "equalizer". CVs do drop bombs (sometimes lots of them...). How about making them overpen lower tiers, and getting really good on higher tiers? Thing is, if you re-work the fire chance... HE bombs get 'balanced' sort of automatically. ALso you can balance clusterbombs by the size/shape they hit. Higher tier = bigger ship. Same thing - make DDs not the ones to suffer. Why have the nutty concealment of 2,5 km for rocketplanes. It doesn't help, as with dive-bombers and torpedoes it is NOT 2,5 km. And still, fighters can be dropped. Give DDs better AA. In real life, all or most of their guns doubled as AA. Also, could make lots of CV-bombs/rockets just overpen DDs. Then give CVs lots of secondaires - else those DDs will start hunt CV instead of doing their actual jobs. If you cannot make "game harder" then you must leave the bowcampers alone. OR you must admit that bowcamping is unwanted, and invent something that makes it harder on JUST them. Here's an idea. How about 5km less concealment to ships not moving more than 1km for a period of time. Or make AA "completely numb" on a ship that has no speed... CVs will do the rest... Even (oh boy I'm gonna get it now) introduce submarines... In the end, what you want is to fix CVs. But you haven't, because there is always a bunch that doesn't play CV and hates them. Now, I like the new interface a LOT better than the old one. In the RTS version, I did not want to play CV, because of how it looked, and because of the controls. But you have introduced stuff that is REALLY HARD to balance, including some stuff that is just nuts. Like having reserve-planes, that drop in once a plane gets shot down. And now what did you do, you have AA shoot at the LAST PLANE. It is not even attacking them. What does this mean? WG will give whiners what they want? WG has solved SOME of the problems. Like a Pro-CV shutting down a N00b-CV. Good job. IMO the way the game looks from playing CV is also an improvement, but that's subjective. BUT also a lot of stuff was introduced, where you could say, this is nuts and it isn't gonna work. And some stuff was never addressed, like the 'Free spotting". Because WG doesn't think spotting is CV job? I like CVs... I just am amazed at how WG manages to stuff up. It could be done a lot better.

    Colorado is pretty tough indeed, but it should be, it is a floating Coastal Battery. I wouldn;t mind KGV that much, but IMO that is where they went wrong. Anyone that has a Conqkek has learned to play "Long range HE spam or death". I get plenty cits form NM and Arizona on KGV and DoY... from all kinds of directions. 12 guns do help a bit, but I get ~just as many as from Queen E - 50% more guns (12 vs 8) still makes a difference.

    Yeah it's a shame really, those were the best armoured RN BBs of WW2. And in WoWS they are crap. I even had higher tier cruisers pen the KGV everywhere. Not to mention their HE spam... I think KGV can be bow-penned even by T5 New York and Texas, BTW. ALL T7 BBs overmatch the bow of KGV, and most T6 can do too (Queen E and New Mexico, for instance) I'm not sure how 'bow citadel' works. But if it means overmatch and then pen the citadel, yes. But they already could do that I think. I did plenty times in Hood.

    IMO it already WAS like that, maybe now you get even more citadels though. It is the main reason I hated KGV, it was a floating piñata for just about anything.

    Wll, usually we have a nice div of Sims, CV and Hood.... Seen my DD-mate do 3 BBs in one spread of sea-mines. Lovely. Next up, I'll get myself Ark Royal and then we can really have a credit-fest.

    Ah damn man. That's like some of the pics I get sent on WhatsApp, you think have "great reload" and then.... That is why DDs score big, usually. One torp hit takes a huge chuck, and even in current ROFLSTOMP you can do much more damage than your own hitpoints, just by suiciding and slamming the whole torpedo load into a BB.

    That is not YOUR problem, but the current shape of the game. You have probably seen a LOT of games end really quickly... this is called "roflstomp" (lasting less than 10 minutes). It is caused by teams, that are so unbalanced once ONE is dead the rest follows soon after. And the reason you do not do well in Musashi then, is that - even if you shoot every 30 seconds - you only get 20 chances. But... that would mean you are surrounded by idiots that show themselves every 30 secs at the right angle... NOT, eh? So, it probably means you got 10 salvoes off. And you'll not hit EVERY shell (average hitrate ~30% across server). EH. 12 guns, 10 salvoes, 1/3 hits. 40 shells hit x (max AP pen, no citadel) = 7.400 x 40 = max 280.000. But... well.. that is "sort of ideal case". Really about 1/6th of hits are pens, so...

    That's correct. They still are, if you get an actual T8 (or, sweet lord, a T6/7) game in a T8 CV. But uptiered is crap, and downtiered is just a hair short of sealclubbing. You had to anyway if you wanted to "harvest" as time was too short to kill them all... Agreed. Just because you can make huge damage it doesn't mean it is fun. Oh wait, don't tell WG otherwise they'll pull that "grind this crap, buy RNG surprise crates for dubloons, win the "Premium Pack Containing NUKE Button"... I think you;re getting some as of now... but guess what. You will not get dubloons... you'll get free planes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    That wouldn't be a problem at all. In fact it would be even better. Make 12 attack planes, they shoot down half, if it keeps them happy. In fact it would give more choice for "pattern". If you only have 3 planes, well, it's the left, the middle, or the right. You could change FLAK patterns, after shooting down the middle ones you can shoot down the ones to your rear. And then brake like hell. The CV-pilot has to adjust then, and that would give more dispersion. Well that's what happens now eh. The AA shoots at the last planes first (what dickweed thought of that...). SO all the multi-strikes really are is a damage sponge, meanwhile IF one of the attack planes gets shot, it gets replaced by one of the reserve planes and the surface ship is still just as screwed. See the above. That way you'd get counterplay. They can still leave the FLAK random, and "balance damage" on that. However the better players would then be able to defend themselves better, or the better CV-pilots to hit better. And that would make it more fun than the RNG fest it currently is. The effect shouldn't be TOO GOOD else we get experts vs n00bs again, but it should be WORTHWHILE. And WG could sell special "FLAK PACKS" for all the ships. Giving special or more effective patterns. Like, usually you'd shoot down 6 out of 12, with that pack you''ll shoot down 7. Or a pack that is almost guaranteed to shoot down the middle ones, leaving a hole for escape. Hell they can even have events to get a "Dakka Dave" captain, or whatever. For CVs they could come up with "Torpedo Tommy", doing 5% more damage or stuff like that. Of course he'd have the problem of having 5% slower planes but well. Also, "Regeneration Roger" who fixes up planes faster. The problem is, WG isn't creative at all. They have no sense of humor either. I'd introduce failing torps on US and RN ships, and then I'd say "some realism added". Yes you'd get more sturdy planes for US, and 'indestructible spandex' RN planes, but that would be 10% more HP, and then 10% of torps would be duds!

    If you don't find an island CE will not help you a bit. That last 10% (remember, they nerfed the BB/CL/DD difference...) doesn't matter much. IFHE first I'd say, so at least IF you find that island before you are dead you can do decent damage. Take a camo (I assume he already knows though) for 3%. And you'll need to FARM HARD in current roflstomp meta. Really, really hard if you want good XP. Best I did in Dallas was a bit over 50k. Not a bad ship though.
