I still do, with some BBs or cruisers. Negligible as in: RNGesus gives me 1 HE-bomb hit, meh no fire. Or he uses DCP, well... I cannot return that quickly as he just killed all of the planes. Might have 4, but none of those will make it. I can do 100k in a good game with T6 Furious though. IMO that's plenty damage, as WG wants them comparable to cruisers. Same with Lexington and even Ranger, so I think I do have "learned something". Weak CVS back then? Well... a good one would kill my Hood in a single blow. I dunno how you call that "weak". Maybe high risk - high reward, though they certainly weren't weak. Remember Graf Zep as RTS... mannnn....
-
Hmmm. I must be doing something wrong then, I usually get the second strike in, but the rest dies to AA. However 100k games not possible, unless I get a good, long game - and those are rare. I never get deplaned though. Pick targets carefully.
-
That's true. Did you consider a 3rd option? I am no potato... well, almost. But some games are indeed a new low. Games < 10 minutes just don't cut it. If you have a CV that depends on HE, you just do not have the Alpha-strike-power. RN T8 CV torpedoes are just pathetic. I can drop 6 (out of 8)... but... well... To me it seems WG is just using TX for reference. Hmm... I think the abundance of new HE cruisers also has something to do with it. Most of those aren't advisable to strike until they have at least burnt down to 3/4 HP. But I think that being a potato deserves potato reward - which is in all ships. OK maybe not in a big fat BB spamming from map border. They're fixing that with subs though
-
More like, you replace the pipe with a bigger one but some of them keep flowing the wrong direction. The thing they fixed, a potato can now make damage even if the other CV is unicum. But potatoes gonna potate - you can't fix stupid. The Reeeework improved it, but hey. However I totally agree on the AA. Apparently WG also can't fix their own stupid. When I find out how to work with the T8 Inflatable I'll wreck the place.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
THE INFLATABLE... ....attracts the biggest bunch of potatoes ever seen. Three minute ROFLSTOMP. Come on WG.... fix this crap. Should not be possible. Look at that score... then look at who scored even worse... @El2aZeR yeahyeah CV OP... hahahahaa! -
Happens to me PLENTY times I 'discover' that Mino, or DM, or whatever a certain way and I have shredded planes for nothing. Also happens a lot when trying to bomb/torp/rocket BBs. The only thing is, Reeework CV doesn't get deplaned. But surely not every attempt gets a hit. Someth imes you do not even get to drop anything. No you don't. I don't have TX, but at T8 try dropping on a Chapayev or something. You'll be lucky to get something dropped. And will only hit if you aimed that well. Not really. You cannot "keep sending them over and over". Simply, no. You have valid arguments but this bubkus is sort of undermining your other arguments. The slower the more likely is still the same. But you only get fighters when you are dumb enough to fly into the "patrol circle". Oh yes and the ship-launched fighter planes will get you, too - usually AFTER the drop though. Sure is. I can;t get a T6 plane past that. All dead. Indeed Hood is worse off now. Then again... how much damage from aerial torps? They can, if they listen. But they don't.

Well that's the thing eh. How long will they go under? It is a high risk/high reward game. And if you don't like it, you can always go play BB or CV... IMO, really... Subs should spawn underwater in edge of cap... their choice if they stay there, but only a SURFACED SUB should be able to cap. CV will go check for subs. DD might. They also might move to cap to see if there are any. If subs spawn at edge of cap, we know where to search first. But we also know where to go first if we want to eat a torp... (already knew... usually that is where DDs go now too, right?) So? Maybe they spawn underwater... maybe give them a short " 0.5 km emergency speedboost" they can use? Also... maybe FINALLY produce something else than just "1-2-3-4-caps" maps. Maps with reefs, small islands, minefields... Make caps in shallow water, make caps different size. Caps that have a minefield one side. We know they can do it. Convoy jobs, defending harbours, attack airfields, kill fortifications, save defective ships, whatever. BTW - DDs have the same problem, and by now everybody knows which DD outspots which DD. Correct. As should be. Just about any hit will also incapacitate a DD and half the time a cruisers engine/rudder is kaputt. Fast repair! Depends how many and how fast WG gives them. Balanzzzz... I can even imagine an "exhaustable instant repair". Like, you can fix 1000HP so fixing a 10HP leak will take 10, but a large one will take more time, and then in the end the repair is all used up and the sub is dead. You'd have to KEEP the sub ~100% by using the repair or at least fix stuff. That way, you could end up with a sub that has irrepairable damage and can't dive (tanks shot up 100HP, but only 90HP left on the repair). Not that bad on the surface... IMO under water they should be slower than the slowest thing... OK maybe not slower than Langley... ~18kts? Depending on tier. On the surface they should be ~as fast as a BB, but not a fast BB. So ~25kts? Maybe give them some "emergency speed". But the, unlike the speedboost on DDs, a cooldown where they can only go half speed? And underwater it will "drain battery"? Countermeasures would be different: underwater/periscope depth/surfaced. Underwater: depth charges, hedgehogs, bombs - and those would also work any other depth. Periscope: accurate small shells, large shells could also hit sub underwater. Torps! Deepwater torps? Rockets? Tiny Tims, definately. Ramming. Surface: anything. Secondaries from BB or cruiser would mean big problem. Even secondaries from DD (dfo they have them?) = problem. And we know WG can buff those against subs or DDs or whatever they like (as in, BB AP against DDs is less effective). Well... if (almost) the whole sub is a floating citadel... BOOMSHANKA. You CAN of course make some parts, when hit, go defective/kaputt. But IMO the sub should be very very vulnerable. We've seen that in the Halloween event. They work very well (ate many torpedoes from teammates). Most subs also have REARWARD torps... I imagine, yes. Surface ~same as DDs. Periscope: same as DDs to CV planes (2,5km?). Of course CV can drop planes. Spotterplanes? Deeper: can only be seen by planes, from above. If VERY deep (max) cannot be seen at all, indeed. Just hydro? Fully submerged - only minimap? I think periscope same as surface. Well they are gonna have to surface... same as a cruiser behind an island, he has also perma-hiding. But he has to fire to be of use. So has the sub. Probably there's something to be done with that? Means more cruisers will need depth charges and other stuff. Usually more than 50% is cruisers +DDs. BBs have spotter/fighter planes, usually. AND they can of course shoot subs at surface AND periscope level. I think a sub at periscope level getting hit by Yamato shell... would cease to exist. Might be some nerf to sub spotting - as in: only spot for others when at surface, at periscope the sub only spots for himself and minimap. But that sub better dive quickly.... DDs have guns and depth charges. Something like Edinburgh might be even worse... depth charges, hydro AND guns that would shoot a sub at periscope depth. Hell yeah. But WG sure can use the practise. maybe someday they'll even get good at balancing... ---> I would like too, but we can give them some pointers besides the questions. Maybe it will help... I can make it add up. But just to make sure I ordered this one:
-
More like 1700 or less because RNGesus hates me and I didn't send enough sheep. Seriously, I have T8 Lexington - a FAT HE BOMB right on a DD might do 7k. But you'd have to be a bit lucky AND have a stupid DD that just runs in a straight line. That said, I did get (once!) an exploding (DETONATION) Algerie, but might have been several bombs hitting him at once.
-
They already have... in old Operation Dynamo you had to go to port, and load up with soldiers to evacuate. Then on the way you could stop at a sinking ship and take on more soldiers. In the end you had to evacuate a certain number, else it was a fail. However they weren't animated... In some other operation (Hermes? or Aegis?) you have to rescue the captain form Schors, as he usually FF-s up and sinks.
-
It still is "massive risk", sort of. Since the AA shoots the last plane first, you send uin as many as you can. Because the FIRST charge always gets there... if you have enough damage sponge behind. So... risk? Well, look at it like a guillotine that chops off your butt, if your butt isn't big enough it chops off something else. Depends what the standard AA is. I have a Salem. Never bothered to even set the sector, shot down 30 planes. No bomb or torp or whatever hit me. After a few tries, CV never came again. Yes. it's still good but IMO the Def AA should work better than what it does now. But smart CV players used to "trick Def AA" by doing 'attempt attack'. Then when you used it they'd come back and bring the whole lot. Dumb CV player... got tricked, I put Def AA on at the last moment... ALL DEAD. Now, Hood has kinda meh AA (sort of average) and turning on Def AA just makes it 'avergae plus mehmeh'. SIMS gets a lot more planes down than Hood... Still does. BUT a lot of other cruisers also do that. Basically most are no-go areas. Yeah still do. When they have some HE-damage the AA is less. Yup. But looks like WG has fixed some problems, by making more OTHER problems. Q: do you think if they had "fixed RT CV" they would NOT have created other problems?
-
Well, this. I have Lexington and SURE can hit an AA cruiser, AA BB or whatever. YES WE CAN. However... the whole squad is s dead, let's say I jhad six, there will be 4 new ones waiting. I can also use those, will get one more hit or all will be shot down before any hit. With Lexi they have HE-bombs, so a hit will cause damage but upto RNG if I get fire. Using DCP can be done risk-free, as there's little chance you get hit again. If I wait for the 4 to become 5 again, takes a few minutes, and then the same thing will happen. Since AA now shoots the last plane first... it will be the end of 6 planes, and 4 will not make it in. So, what I could do is wait until I have 6 again... but will I? I know I CAN. RTS CV was at a disadvantage there. Planes dead = planes dead. Not so in Enterprise, the AP bomb will get ya good, and no repairable stuff. Here's where @El2aZeR is right, I also have no doubt I'd try it again if I had AP. After 3 times that AA-ship is dead for sure, I dunno if he has Lexi but the difference is you'll never kill it.
-
But hey, that is SUPPOSED to happen... and it happens all the time. Someday they'll learn (or not... LOL). It is the same as potatoes sitting broadside to BBs. They'll also learn... or not. You are right when you say the unicum CV now craps all over the whole team instead of on the potato RTS-CV. But... after he was done with the potato RTS-CV, the unicum CV player also crapped all over the rest of the reds... Also, no way I''ll make as much damage as was possible in RTS-CV. Yes, some CVs are better than others (and some players are too..). And if they give me a Lexington plus a filed of reds (one DD, a few non-AA cruisers and a bunch of German BBs) I'll be able to crap all over them. So will Enterprise - perhaps if all BBs are stupid and enough sheep have been sacrificed to RNGesus then Lexi can score higher with DoT. But Enterprise will still be able to take a real big crap if those cruisers are all DM and BBs are all Montanas/Frenchies... because of AP bombs. And Lexi can't kill more than 4 whole BBs... if they manage their repair/heal a bit. But well, that's WG.

We see a lot of Baltimore and that sort in CB. Also seen the Eugen. I have the Edinburgh (and that's all), we use a Z-23 DD... So what else do we have.... Atago, Cossack, Chapayev. It's good fun though.
-
Does. Yesterday we got promoted, one league up. (it is my only T8 cruiser... LOL).
-
Yeah he should. But I have looked at a bunch of stats and what I see: ---> GOOD RTS-CV players are even better scoring with ReeeeeWork CV; It's probably the best way to do it. Have ONE very good and consistent player test it. Then check the average stats. What he did this time is kill 3 ships and see how much time it cost. But it is clear to me that, generally, CV-playing is lots easier than it was before. I think capable RTS players will be able to do more damage than before, as well.
-
for the win. But you'd actually have to be good at it. BTW this whole game is about winning (though you wouldn't dare say that if you see what happens sometimes). I mean Enterprise. AP bombs, larger squadrons, fast respawn. Probably stronger than any TX.
-
I'll have to go grind the IJN CVs then, indeed I believe they are superior. Or just buy the T8 CV that has the IJN adfvantages pre-set... However I do not like TX gameplay so they'll only be for CB when they get allowed.
-
I will have TX CV though, and play them - because I need the troll-thing when they allow it in CB. But indeed, I hate TX gameplay. Man it's boring. I even like T4 CV better, the things you see happening and the BS you can do!
-
Probably on the first day... (I can still do it now...)
-
Does indeed. Just... a nerf is a be nerf, but well. IMO their nerfs are crap, no fun and do not promote gameplay. The way they do it is like: ÿou have reached more than your daily allowed dmg limit. Your ship will now get auto-flooded". It wasn't, the real thing was: - make it "more attractive" and "similar to the rest" (PS4-ready, if you will...) nah OK they sort of did that; - dumb it down so a potato-CV would not make much difference to unicum-CV (fail... but hey... in ships the difference also is same); - rule out CV vs CV battles, one CV not being able to shut down the other (reasonable succes I'd say though it's still possible). - prevent CVs from being 100% deplaned. Except first one though, there's NOTHING that they could not have done with RTS.
-
Then try better, I have 65k record on the Langley, only 46k on Hermes. Does plenty damage.
-
If you don't know, you never played them I guess.
-
Yuuuuupppp.... think, re-think and then think again.
-
You'll need to think where to put it to get most damage out of it. Yes just like Colorado.
-
Makes sense. Because the idiots shoot at the last plane in squadron... The first wave definately will go in. Then the second wave will just get him. While Zao is shooting at the last plane... This is the most stupid thing really - "to get more constant AA damage", LOL.
