    Most fun Tier range?

Well this is sort of the reason why most do not like to play T8 and T9, because most you get TX matches. I usually keep T5/6/7, sometimes I play th higher tiers because if n the end I want a few TX to play CB and support the clan. I also have some T2/3/4 though because after playing a TX match I need to go sealclubing, I dunno why.
  2. Yesterday I was potatoeing around with two Clanmates, we met @T0byJug and @Timgold. EH, wish we did as well as you guys huh!

    USS Arizona...

It is indeed (when I take Leander I go for it too) but of nobody else goes, I'll do it with Arizona. Usually I kill the CL first (devstrike) then the CV (when he comes out of the smoke). Mostly the CV gets devstriked as well, sometimes I need 3 shots. Usually two is plenty, I think one would do if RNGesus likes you. Then I go to Raptor again, the DD from CV1 will chase me. I might eat a few torps, but hey. If nobody else gets rid of it, I load the HE and shoot it myself. Usually I get a good shot at the 2nd DD also. Sometimes it is me that kills it, depends a bit. Some "smart" players know where it is coming and sometimes a DD or CL already torped it. Then I just go wreck cruisers and make an annoyance of myself for the b0ts. Plenty of times though the 2nd CV was spotted and nobody could kill it - so I did. Which three BBs? IMO killing BBs is a DDs job, but willing to help if I can. What I also like to do in Raptor is take a CV... sure win.

    USS Arizona...

I used Arizona in Ranked... LOL.. But Arizona is my favourite for T6 operations... but indeed the speed. You must know exactly where to go - the firepower makes up for the lack of speed. In Raptor Rescue, I first kill the cruiser, and then sort of half-slaughter the BB that come from right behind the islands. And then I take a turn to right, kill the CV for the star. Then I return to help slaughter all the cruisers that are coming. And often I also manage to kill the second CV... but in Operations, things are quite predictable.

    USS Arizona...

Well my #1 ship is Hood, by far the most played. I picked it carefully. But my #2 ship is Arizona... BOOMSHANKA! If you like the old slow US BBs she's great. I also have Texas, the premium NY. At Colorado it's getting a bit too slow in T7... but if you are top tier it's bloody murder.

Why is the Gneisenau now terrible at AA?

Somehow mine still is. But you have to "wait for it" before you switch the DEF AA. If you do it in correct range, Hood will just kill the whole lot of them. Dakkadakkadakka... there goes 12-15 planes. Best troll division so far: Hood, Sims, T6 CV...

Carriers little to no damage on anything

Agreed, though "from the other side". I often don't bother swerving for aircraft torps in a BB... ... because if he is any good he'll drop the next set such that I'll eat them anyway; ....and because if he is REALLY good he'll put me broadside to his teammates!!

Carriers little to no damage on anything

Funny enough your Furious also seems to be better than your Implacable... But I think he means he can do 100K easily in a BB, but not in a CV.

Carriers little to no damage on anything

My mistake - I thought you were refering to the T8 premiums. You don't see Enterprise that often... also, if that damn red DD had not been so persistent, I'm quite sure I'd have given "that certain player" a run for the money vs my Lexi (yeah we lost...)
  10. BLUB__BLUB

Carriers little to no damage on anything

I think 150k is possible in Lexington, too. I just need a good game to do it. The one I am having trouble with is Implacable - to me it seems no better than Furious. I must be doing something wrong (can get 100k in Furious though). I'll give the T4 a try... 50k already was quite possible for me. Not that you'd get it every game. Much less is also possible: your team potatoes, dies in <7 minutes and 3 red DDs come for your @$$.

    New Ship Line

I think WG are just plain stupid NOT to make more Operations - or even OP-type matches. That "harbour defence" operation already works sort of two ways. WHY NOT WG?
  12. BLUB__BLUB

Why do you like to play CVs?

I'll troll the other CV as well if given half the chance. Also, no mercy for DDs - usually they'll try to sink me too, so they deserve what is coming. Do we need to talk about poor BBabies? Well they deserved it anyway!
  13. BLUB__BLUB

Why do you like to play CVs?

Mwaahhh. There's a few reasons. I like planes, really. WG had WoWP but that really sucked, and then there was that other one... hmm. But they had "battle rating"and even though the planes and everything was nice, BR made it suck even harder. I tried RTS CVs. Meh, really no fun at all - more like chess. I can see the challenge. Though the challenge for me was more the way they worked... I like the way the game looks when playing CV now. Maybe it is a bit too much "retard mode". But that's usually because WG has done some stupid stuff to "balance them". What I like about the gameplay, you can really help the team get that HE-spammer that seems invulnerable and stops your whole team. You can chase that pesky DD that is sending your teammates to the bottom. Most of all, you can troll the whole lot of them. It's not easy to make big damage, but you can make the difference if you play it tactically.

    New Ship Line

I'd think they work the same as torpedo planes from the CV, sort of. Maybe they could get attacked by fighter planes (from CV or from ship) as well. So once launched, no reload. Back to mothership!
  15. BLUB__BLUB

    New Ship Line

I'd say they need a "mothership" and would have limited operating range. Roughly as much operating range as the mothership has detection. And yes they'd be similar to (sort of) a torpedo squadron from a CV, just "flying at sea level". The difference is the planes have a few KM of detectability range, and much larger range than the detectability from the CV. Say if the MYB mothership has 10 km detectability range, then the range of the MTBs would be 12-13 km. You'd need to hide the mothership GOOD before launching the MTBs. Actually it might be a "feasible" project.

Game Play on the EU server.

No connectivity issues here either. I only have trouble when everyone else is having trouble. Just a reminder, it might NOT be your ISP, nor WGs fault at all. Remember this: My signal, from a little town in the back of the jungle in the north of Holland, first goes to the switch in Groningen, and then it gets dispatched to Zwolle - which is where my ISP connects to "the great net". But it is not actually there that it connects, it probably runs through the central Dutch server station in Utrecht. Means at my side there's at least 3 times where it can go wrong. if they have a delay or lots of clients downloading Pr0n, well... And I'm sure WG is connected similarly. I dunno how much Pr0n their fellow-clients at that server-station are downloading though. I'm quite sure (hey, this is Holland...) my side will grab a much larger portion of that.

    CV Rework Discussion

Ah well at least I understand now what you mean. Hard to discusss something if not sure what is intended. But that's mot the 'raw damage potential', AKA 'heavy'. I don't think so, generally I do just as much damage with Lexi as the red CV if he has Enterprise. Well, untill you meet @El2aZeR of course. I think WG is very dumb not considering his opinion. We agree 100% on that! Well yeah, I think it is because they gave it sooooo much more than the regular CVs. I hope they don;t give regular CVs more though. Might make it a bit harder. And then buff the alpha. It would be better than more 'noobtube damage'. I'm unhappy it wasn't cheaper... I like trolling "impossible ships". Good info there. My next CV is gonna be a T10, RN or US. And then I'll get Ark Royal with Jingles captain. Just for teh LULLLZZZ I don't really care if it is any good or not.

    CV Rework Discussion

Holy cow. I didn't know that. Holy cow, again. But then again, I guess you'll never use them all. On Lexi I use 2 strikes, 3rd dies anyway even when attacking a meh-AA ship. How is Enterprise? I guess that, after explaining "noobtube" --> you and me largely agree. Yes. I mean FIRST get that sorted, and after you have "leveled the odds" ONLY THEN see about damage. The way WG does it, they just nerf/boost damage or damage reduction. Noobtube nerf/boost. I think has same amount of planes per strike, just more strikes in a fly-out. Could be because English is not my mother-language, but "heavy" to me means: - Total theoretically possible damage per strike. As in: 3 planes x 3 torps x max-damage-per-torp. AKA: More planes = more tube, less mitigation = more noob. Did I say that correctly? Bigger squads do not necessarily mean more planes on deck. It might even mean you'd kill them faster if you're a big enough noob. But true, you can send one strike back and keep reserve "up" that way. But it doesn't mean you have more reserve. Uhhh, say you have 3 spaces on deck and a flight of 3 strikes x 2 planes (6 planes). Now if you take off and send back 2 planes immediately, there is no space for those two planes. Your reserve still stays at 3. The two returning planes will get packed into the hangar again, sort of. As you see it doesn't matter how large your flight is even if you have 8 strikes x 2 planes, you still have 3 reserve. However Enterprise still may have more reserve than Lexington (I dunno). Means less waiting time if you have too many planes dead. Which is anyway, as Enterprise "produces" planes faster than Lexi.

    CV players...

    Seems quite accurate to me...
  20. Yeah 2K not bad, but not nearly enough. If you donlt know how to handle DB, a DD will certainly kill you. I haven;t got TX yet, but I'll find out. Better than T8? The first one actually I forgot to press fire, because I saw it was YOU Then the second one, I thought well this is not quite good, let's try again. After all, since forumite, I'd like to impress with a good blap. Duh. Yeah bad luck... I was amazed as well. But indeed it was lost anyway... man when we had done 2DDS, the whole team had melted! Actually I didn't get 2DD kills (almost though), the Gallant killed one. Must have killed something else. I've been having bad luck all the time. Melting teams is usually the problem. In the higher tiers, sometimes can't even get enough damage to cover service cost. so, that's why "AP Conqkek" often comes along. 50-70k... in 4 minutes... Gtrats on ranking out (tough job).

    CV Rework Discussion

Currently there are three (four..) ways to deal with it: 1.avoid flak by going zig/zag (I mean.... not brainless zig-zag..) --> continuous DPS will get you; 2.dive in top speed and maybe take some flak but have less effect from continuous DPS; 3. attack "from stealth", as in: unspotted hop over island/mountain, only a short time of AA. (4). use the slingshot. IMO a bad player just loiters in AA - and flak, because he cannot even line up his planes. There's no GitGud there. Ever. They are the same kind that keeps sailing BBs in straight lines, and keeps broadsiding cruisers to BBs. That is, however, the same thing you criticise above... and you SHOULD NOT be able to mitigate it all. If stats show that some players are "too good" then you FIRST make it harder to get hits. But IMO only AFTER you have balance in difficulty, you seek balance in damage. The rocket attacks from Enterprise are no more heavy than from Lexington. Planes might respawn faster though (but I might be wrong).
  22. BLUB__BLUB

    CV Rework Discussion

IMO you balance the methods/mechanics around the best/worst, and then check for (min/average/max) damage. With statistics you can do this pretty easily. IMO the Enterprise is sort of OP because of the AP bombs. The way to balance it would be to make it harder to hit. That way, the differencebetween good and bad players becomes clear. If you see a large difference in damage outcome, make them easier but nerf the damage.

    CV Rework Discussion

Yeah that is why the other two DDs died first, they went for the CV straight away. I usually don't go for the DDs especially unless they try such stuff. So indeed I didn't target you - I was too busy murdering the two other DDs. Then after they were killed I went for the BBs, and then you came along. Will be nice to see how you went, thanks RFs are the most crap to use on a DD. You lose sight when more than 2.5km away, means you only detect the DD when it is too late to aim. And when you have turned around, you need to aim from ~4km (so either guess where the DD is or spot some other way), but if you adjust after that the "aim reticule" will enlarge, meaning the spread of the shot can become very very wide. Also doesn't work on Furious, it has slow planes and it can brake like hell. On Furious, once the reticule has "set"you can also throw the planes around quite a lot. This also goes for bombers and torps. 90 degree rotation is no problem. On the US ones, you CANNOT even rotate them 90 degrees, and it will throw aim of and give a wide spread. Very much correct - for RF. On bombs, make sure he doesn't get you in a straight line from behind... Indeed.

He means you need to spot for teammates, noy go yolo-solo. I'll always kill DDs that try to do that.

    CV Rework Discussion

Yes Atago qualifies as a mega-fat DD as well in my book. True. However, if we have 1 DD and it dies, neptune becomes the DD. Agreed. I never go for DDs anyway unless they are too annoying (= more than 2, and they think they can just go around capping and torping) or when they threathen my CV. Y Then they are dead meat. Usually I go for the BBs and the cruisers. Or even the other CV.
