    Because you bought VU, and the you complain... but it's probably not making sense? Carry on... I'd not say a CV is OP, except if someone plays it that knows how to handle one. Or, if the surface ship is just... well... ehh....

    Eh. NEVER EVER is any player "able to corner" a CV. It might be one or both of these: - CV player hasn;t spotted him, nor has anyone of the whole team (...which also says some about that team...); - WG automated steering CAN and WILL screw-over CV players. That is also why the LEX was "in no particular hurry"... CVs are fast in a straight line, but sluggish as F. Made worse by WG-auto-steering. If the Le Terrible could be kept busy 'dancing torpedoes' well he is... ehh... not the best... Lexi sends 2 torps per charge, charges 3x. Yeah I bet that would have been embarrassing to watch... a fast, agile DD being kept "torpedo beating" some CV that puts out 2 or 3 torps at a time. Meanwhile that fast agile DD does NOT manage to hit a slow, close target that hardly shoots back (the secondaries are a bit of a laugh except on Zepp...) He usually is. I once had a good Mahan player chase me (after he capped, our team melted...), mind I wasn't cornered and got running, but still, he almost got me. My thoughts are that Le Terrible must have been a terrible player indeed... my div-mate plays DDs... last week he killed BOTH T6 CVS. He kept on shooting one, got close to the other and torped him, then finished off the first one.

    Actually, it is also because WG decided a CV player doesn't have any control while he is flying. No heal, and auto-DCP. First fire gets DCP-ed. Plus a CV is not really a BB... it is a CA with a flightdeck on top. Most DDs can citadel it easily. CL certainly can. ALL BBS have overmatch. I also think this is not OK, also it is boring. But it is what WG did to "dumb down" CV play. BTW - that DD must have been one of these two: When a DD gets through my "friendlies" just to snipe the CV it is usually a dumb one, as he'll help his team more doing his job. Also, he will rack up more DMG and XP when he does his job. Even IF he kills me a BB would have been a fatter prize. And chances are just about any teammate of him will claim a piece... afterward he'll not make many more points either (out of position). Also, when he attacks my CV he is of course perma-spotted. Often those are easy to kill... they keep going steady when I let the RF on them... they go in straight line when I drop bombs... ...and they smoke up when I bring torps, but keep on shooting their guns... which shows their position. THOSE are the DDS that I'd smack anyway. RF does 1500 dmg to them per charge. DB often gets them obliterated (they do not run anti-detonation flag). Torps get them in smoke (as well as bombs) because they do not stop firing their guns. Finally, they shoot torps when they are "in range". And I will avoid them. The smart ones that get through AFTER they have done their job are usually hard to kill... and usually kill me. First of all, they do NOT come in guns blazing and AA on... makes them hard to detect... they are not perma-spotted. Second they will go for he dropped fighters and shoot them down once my 3 attacks are spent... Third when they smoke up / in smoke they stop shooting the CV (but do turn on the AA...). With RF, they brake/turn at last moment, and run into the RF to shorten aiming time... With bombs, they run into them to short aiming time, brake+change direction With torpedoes they just wait until I drop them, then avoid. Or they change speed... Finally, they shoot torps when they are SURE the fish cannot be avoided anymore. I will give such GOOD DDs a PLUS ONE KARMA. They make my game better, too.

    You are better helping the team by putting those "fighters" to detect (for example) a Des Moines that is hiding behind an island. Or a Conqkek that spams your team from distance, ort something like that. EDIT: many times I have dropped a "fighter" so they spotted the enemy CV (if potato some never even move from spawn). Of course that usually gets him blapped, but well, it also means our (if stupido) DDs go after him so they don't do their jobs. I'll think about it if that is advisable. Usually... well... what do you think? As you said they'll down "at best 5", simply put every fighter (usually it is 4, unless you take the captain skill) that you put there kills one plane and that's it. Now if I come on your teammate with ARk Royal even if you have Ryujo those mega-fast-ueber-planes can only kill 4 Swordfish... I d do that too when ships spawn planes... dive in when they are MOVING AWAY from the target. They'll usually attack the planes that have just dropped/are dropping.... or non at all if you turn the other way. I don't do co-op with CVs... they exist/live mostly on DoT (Damage Over Time). Fires, floodings... For Co-op you need alpha strike power so unless that CV has AP bombs or you are using torps it's no good. Yes the B0ts are stupid and use DCP on one fire... but hey they are B0ts and your teammates will blap them quickly. It is not like that perma-fire you're making will have any chance whatsoever to burn to completion.

    Oh but I had that one too, "CV we have got incoming move move move". Move to what? If you have a nice position behind an island, well, you didn't pick that for nothing eh. And with 14.2 km detection range you do NOT want to get out from behind that island. I prefer to stick my CV behind an island, it melts less fast than teammates. They were coming indeed, two BBs and a CL. Coming from 25km... killed the CL... one BB turned... killed the other BB... Then started to kill the second BB, but guess what, a DD came from the other side... hahahahaaha. Killed him too. Guess what and then they complain "N00b CV not spotting". Heheheheheheh. I had the same thing with 3 BBs, but well, when they don't see me they can't kill me. Let the slaughter begin! Actually it is an advantage if you have ARk Royal. It is good when the food comes to you, because you do not want to have to chase it in biplanes. But well, sometimes...

    Your GXF-card may not be up to the job if you didn't use full HD before. I have 2G AMD here and does the job nicely, always >100FPS no problems. ALSO some monitors have Freesync and others have G-sync, different system. The monitor may not like your videocard (Nvidea/AMD) and use a differtent system or you need to set it to the correct one. My monitor (LG 27 inch) can use both systems.

    Yeah do. Nevertheless it will still screw it up. So... Also, that map you have to wait which way the lemming train goes. On some maps you can just put it in reverse, come back after first fly-out, then see which way to go.

    I agree, as a CV player. This is no fun. It isn't even fun for the CV players. He really is good - and not just in a CV. You'll do much better when you use those pointers. I am just a potato but when I'm in the Ark Royal in division no matter we usually win bc influence. You cannot carry games in that CV but nevertheless if you co-operate it really works. And that is usually on weekends... In division with clanmates In division with my son (who is a DD main)

    Thanks Masterrr. I hope you'll get one too, it will be fun to watch. Some good tips in there, some of the stuff I know I am doing wrong. Like indeed I knew better got the Tirpitz twice instead of the NM. The delay at the start is bc WG "power steering". The AR has 14.2 detection, you need to do it well else you're already screwed at the start. It crunches an island (and you can only fix it if you have no squad flying) or something else really stupid. Many times I got deleted. Which is also why I left the CV in the corner (they'd never get there before I killed them anyway). Indeed he'd go rearwards... and after that, would he stop behind the island, or overshoot, or even start going fwd/rwd-fwd/rwd... The attack tip on DBs is a good one, I never knew that. I'll try to start the attack earlier. Also I never knew you could steer right after the attack. Or accelerate and still keep the turn. Is the avoiding of flak on the TB better/sufficient, or should I swerve/vary speed more (sometimes I ff it up...WHAMMO all gone)? You may notice the almost-no-use-of RF.... this is bc they sometimes do 1500dmg, but mostly 100-250-500 dmg to a DD. On AR their "dispersion" tends to be quite horizontal, attacking DD broadside works best. But they know... and then they turn! Compared to the DB and TB they also turn a lot less, and get shot down quickly. Some matches I do not use them at all... They are good for causing fire in CA/BB superstructure though. Quick in-out and don't hang around... I prefer to use DB or chase them with torps (I do usually get them). Also bc "extra salt" when you kill a DD with torps... Torps are my prefered weapon anyway, bc they DCP fires and yes they can DCP floods but not the alpha from torps. Using the HE bombs, yes they are sort of better, but depending more on RNG and perma-fire, else meagre damage. Also (usually...), when you finally have a nice perma-fire going, then the teammates kill him as he was probably stupid to start with. I also prefer to start with torps if there are not that many DDs... bc BBs are usually kinda spread out and not near CL-CA at the beginning. If I get a flooding (he'll DCP...) then I'll bring the DBs... bombing any DDs I see when I go along. Somehow the TB seem less maneuverable than the planes from Hermes. A crossdrop on a CA is not really do-able. On Hermes I can even do it on a DD.... might also be the planes are the same but it is bc of the ships being better. I tend to watch the torps a bit, because still trying to aim them better. Not easy to hit all three (and the difference is 50%...) that's why I watch what happens. Sometimes indeed I shouldn't do it (when speed is more important)... but it taught me a lot... which is why "KEK" on that DD. I often do that. Sometimes I even chase them... attacking but NOT dropping... then they hit an island... and smoke up...which is when they get torped. Actually I was going for the CV but when I meet the DD he's gonna get it even with torps. GOOD tieps master I'll use them and see if I can do 200k...

    I'd say ARk Royal is definately worth it. It's a challenge to do well in. But it's very funny IMO, those biplanes going really slow but dropping loads and loads if you finally get there.

    Well, after an evening with one of my mates wanting "no CV" (and yes we lost plenty...) finally I could let out the beast a bit... I guess I am getting better, still plenty mistakes though.     If it's worth anything, I think even a potato like me can sink 4 BBs, no problem. Have a look. I almost got three here. Would have if the Queen E hadn't been there. Therefore I had to sink DD (duh... he smo0ked up, so I knew he was "parked"... torped him) and the red CV, so in the end I still got three... Plenty damage here though, even if it's a T8 game. Plenty mistakes too, for example should have lead the Maass a bit more. But I thought he'd turn... Heh. Let's see you comment on this one guys.     You'll not like me much, I usually ignore them unless they make a nuisance of themselves. They're not worth much and hard to spot. And once I spot them everybody else shoots them. I think CL and other DDs are better equipped to take care of those. I like to feast on campers.

    Oh yeah I forgot about the heal. But I have burnt/flooded down a T8 North Carolina 100% though, it didn't take that long. Most ships do not have the zombie heal of Conqkek. I dunno about Kaga, I can set 3 fires when aiming well in Ark Royal. Furious is next best (I guess it has a few bombs less). To get most fires, start at the rear, wait as long as possible. This CAN BE a disadvantage though. If you get one fire, BBs usually let that burn. If you get two or three, they DCP. And then your teammates set the perma-fire, you get meagre damage. That will NOT be the problem when you have just those 4 BBs and no teammates. I'd attack one, get fire/flooding, wait if he uses DCP. Attack him again after he used it. Meanwhile drop on the next BB. That is how you get mega-damage - best if there's 3 of the poor things, ~6-7 km apart... First one gets 3 planes dropping, next one as well, the last one will take the rest...

    On average, indeed. However the problem is there is not much counterplay. The average damage, no problems there. That starts when someone actually knows what they are doing...

    Well then we find out what is "better", but actually I think the HE-bombs would do the best job. Because when no other ships are around, you can just t set a perma-fire (or three...) and then set fire to the next one. They'd probably kill the ship sooner than AP bombs. I'd say even a T6 CV can do it (as fire damage depends on ship HP).

    Which is a shame, really. I'm pretty sure you'd get people buying a ship for 4, 5 Euro. If they stick in a LOT of T2/T3/4 pre-dreadnoughts... I'd certainly get some. They'd make AWESOME captain re-trainers. Get a look at this:
