That happens, but usually it is Ark Royal vs Ranger or something. Or you get Graf Zepp vs Enterprise... and then Lord @El2aZeR in the Zep... who'd win? Happens also with other ships, you get unicum in Smolensk vs potato in Hindy... That problem is not really the CV... it is (lack of) skill/points dependent MM. Though I agree... as the devil always craps on the biggest heap... probably you get the potato in the weaker ship. WHich is indeed wayyyyy worse in a CV. Could be lucky though, maybe your team has the potato CV, but all the enemy has is 11X Viribus Unitis...

Agreed. I outplay most of them and I am just potato in sort of everything. But oh master, the same potato problem exists in most ships... We will never solve the potato problem, in fact it is worse than ever.

He does. I met Him a few times. Lord @El2aZeR one time taught me a lesson, I was in Lexi and Him of course in Enty... The other time we wrecked the enemy team (me in Hood) and he even said KEK when I did well. I almost managed to keep up (not quite). I can assure you he is not a phantom but he is quite legendary.

I'll rather give you spotters so you can harvest better from smoke... Or put them where they light up island huggers and such. Or put them 9 km from enemy CV so the BBs can blap him... 4 fighters (that is what you get unless you have the "1 extra fighter" captain skill) will kill 4 attacking planes. Which will be replaced from "the reserve above". It will not save you anything. A spotter will however GET you something. Remember though: planes DO NOT SPOT TORPS anymore. They'll spot that fat red BB for you though so you can harvest him.

Actually... it means your team lost EVERY ship, even the CV, except YOU. It also means the CV on the other side survived everything... except you. IMO that means your team lost... badly so, too. I agree it's not fair putting your poor Clubson against a CV... (but I've been in the same thing, actually then I had a Leander or something... and the reds had a fat full health backborder spamming BB).

Might be the one I'd take then (but I already have Midway). That's not that bad though, Lexi is T8 and can get T10 anyway. Usually you'll not see Ark Royal in T9... Maybe you are using the credits somewhere else too? We also do Hood/Sims credit grinds. I usually do not run a premium account, never have lack of funds... might be because my most played ships are the premiums. Hood, Arizona, Texas, Ark Royal, Exeter... I'm not really grinding though, just potatoeing around. Nah. Well yeah they taste good but I always doze off halfway the game, and then I fark up really bad. Usually I sell the whole lot of whatever I get, above T7, only keeping the T10 for Clan Battle. Problem is that sometimes you get Clan Brawl or Battle in other tiers, so I keep the ones I like. Definitely though... most my ships > T7 are port queens... including Midway, and partly Lexi too.

Yes, that is why it is boring. I'd rather attack them with Swordfishes and imagine their faces.

I use Ark Royal in div with Sims... (yeah we do get T9 but rarely, and even if we do Ark doesn't care still get ~50K damage). Larger maps require some nifty moving the CV around, else indeed it get boring. But that's the challenge! How close can you get, and then survive the match, or did you F-up and they blap you... If you do not have problems with AA with Ark, you'll not have them with other CVs. At least, I haven't, I find the others LOTS easier. But indeed though if you earn ~100K per game it gets quite a grind. I play Clan Battle and other stuff, it really makes a difference. If credits are a problem, premium account fixes that (well, a bit). I always go get "freebies"with crappeliunium or whatever, like currently nothing interests me in the Italian stuff so I use those tokens to get Premium if I have a day off and play the game. I agree though there not being an interesting T8 premium CV, Enterprise was but is was also OP as hell. I'd go get one if there was something like Ark Royal, entertaining but not that OP. Might get Kaga (since I'm now grinding the IJN as well). Then again from T8 the gameplay gets a bit boooooring with lots of HE-spammers and BBs hiding just going backward/forward. In fact, I'd rather have some more premium T6 CVs... or have the uneven ones filled. .

If you're in for a laugh get Ark Royal. Fragile planes and slow as F, but quite OP due to the amount of them. Like a T4 Hermes in swarms. You8 will learn to aim (to get that 3rd torpedo in) and which ships to harvest and which to avoid. Really easy to do mediocre in, you can't fail to get 40K which still makes credits. But hard to do 100K+ in, IMO. BTW this is the T8 perma-camo. I got that for Lexi, as I like the ship. 3k dubloons is ~10 euro. You get +50% XP. (I also got that "Dazzle" perma-camo for Furious). EDIT: note that Saipan gets AP-bombs, so DE is not effective as a captain skill (no HE-boms to cause fire). At least Ark Royal has the same skill-set as other RN CVs.

I'd get Kaga and grind the IJN CVs... generally they are better anyway. An almost-dead-BB stays almost-dead and doesn't zombie back to life. I think premium camo is reduced service cost AND more XP/credits. Should check... as I have bought the premium camo for Lexi myself. BTW yes I have Midway (did the grind, and I am mediocre as F) and it's kinda meh mostly, I find Lexi more fun. The credits though, I made those mostly in Clan Brawls (3vs3 or what was it), it gave 250k on a loss and >>1 million on a win. (oh and doing 50K dmg on Ark Royal usually gives 100-150K credits).

Mhhhh you must have more frechance than me then. DE, and all flags - even so getting fires twice is rare, and that's on Ark Royal (should have the most). Nevertheless if they get blapped it was all in vain. So AP still works better (so far I have Ryujo... will see about T8/10). You need less luck. And you do not depend on teammates to finish the job. Therefore, I think @El2aZeR is correct. I do, because you're there faster... before somebody else gets the perma-fire. They cause plenty fire on BBs.

Errr, you are forgetting the RF. They also cause fire. Also, what a teammate does cannot be called "MY effective damage"... (and half of the time, teammates ff-it up anyway even if you tell them and they are sitting next to the target). And I wouldn't know what to call it when they kill my nicely burning BB, except "teammate scores". Doesn't make my damage output any better.

That is true, but not really what is meant IMO. There is the problem: "would". And that is why it is not 'effective damage'. What usually happens: - you hit a BB, he uses DCP. Meagre damage for you. - then you return, and somebody else has already set fire... duh. - or you return, set a perma-fire, somebody else kills him, crappy damage. - kinda same with torps and floodings, but you'll get more alpha-damage. More effective. This kind of thing usually happens to me in Ark Royal. Yes potentially I can do 200k. But it just never happens. Now slam an AP bomb and hit citadel, THAT is effective damage.

I expect to be useless in all of them, so I hope they'll find some other ships for coal/steel. Preferably Russian OP bias ehhh... I mean... well never mind get me some heavy cruiser plz or else I'll just get Smolly.

IMO by now there should be at least 50 maps or so, but there are not. Shame!!

It's not the best.... but by far not the worst. Best of Hermes is torps - they planes are so manouvrable, you can actually torp DDs. The bombers make nice fire, but you need DE and the flags for them. My record (fro the "mega AA days) still is above the current average. Don't expect to get 100K+ easily though, that is only for OP Hosho... and if you have 2 CVs in the game and one is Hosho, it will at all the nice fish.

Yes, if you have teammates that do not mind doing the dirty work. Like keeping a target spotted while not getting spotted themselves (thus having no score). That will go far better in CB.... DD keeps other DD spotted, Smol can finish it off to no risk your own DD. In divs probably works good with CV... get two Smolls and a CV, aarrgghh. CV drops fighter (spotter...) behind a camping BB, rain rain rain....

Well, we can do only part of it since we do not have all the data. For example, how many times does a ship get to be top-tier? I believe it is over-stupid... so... I must get it... No TBH I never like the playstyle in T10, and what I get coal/steel/premium ships for is: A. I think they'll be fun or useful (and as such, T7, maybe T8 is the max - that is also why I did not get Enterprise...); B. mostly... it will be a T10 and can help my clan in CB I will go get it. So, no Thunderer as we only need 1 BB and that likely won't be it. This also means I'll never get the JB or whatever they come up with. But I might go get Smolensk. Same as got Salem. Unless they put in some other T10 cruiser that is OP as F. of course. Can't say we have lack of those... Just guessing what is next, I'm thinking some RN or US dakkaboat, probably. And yes I will play regular T10 battle (potato around) with it to retrain captains etc. But i'd rather have a decent T5/6/7 to do that (like Hood, Exeter, Warspite, ARk Royal - but Russian). Thinking of that, I do have Murmansk... just lovely.
