    If the game is no fun, yes. This is a multi-mega-player game, and it will not adapt to you. So, you must adapt to the game, and if you do not like it, do not sink money into it and quit. Well that's what WG wanted. More CV players. That's what they get (even if they have to give away Zeppy Black for free). But that's also a way the CV-drivers get sorted. Also, "natural selection"means they breed. We get new ones every day. And we'll get new ones, too. Fresh cannon fodder. Hmmm.... yummie. Maybe they'll become nice tasty piñata BB drivers, if they don't make it as DD-pilots. Then go play CV.... WG will not change. And yes all RN CVs have HE boms. I doubt if they'd make it back in 30 secs though. Maybe it would be a good idea to spend the 30 secs getting to some safer place? If you wre moving further and further away, there are a few reasons why the CV still kept targeting you: - you were #1 priority target (I do not believe that); - the CV was stupid. I'd never attack a DD that was running back... Yes, we need cannon fodder and bad players too. Sometimes you need to admit: to make good vodka, you need to harvest plenty potatoes. We can complain that we have to swim with them in the same pool. But we DO NEED lots of potatoes. An elitist game might seem like a nice idea... until that game costs 120 Euros, never gets updated after release, and dies a slow death due to the lacking amount of players. Sure everybody will be expert... but... meh. If you cannot handle it, shouldn't play it. I can play DD OK-ish upto T6,7. After that, after half an hour I have a headache, my neck hurts and I potato like hell. Here is my solution: I just don''t do it and leave it to the younger/faster/speedier ones.

    The last one. I see a lot of Zep Bs and they are hilarious. I'd go as far as calling it "Derpitz part 2". I even had one of them attack my CV with divebombers...

    But on a same level, it is usually the mistakes of others that we enjoy... In this game we're supposed to have fun by ruining the fun of the reds. So... working as intended? True, just relative to other DDs. But I'd try a Kidd before most CLs or BBs. The thing that saves them is mostly concealment, being small and being nimble. If I want to strike a BB, it is easy. I find his position and his direction, and plan where I want to enter his AA. Then of course first I fly along a path that I am NOT gonna take, his first flak burst will miss me. If I have fast planes I'll be on him before the second burst happens. If he tries to steer/brake, I can adjust easily (if it even happens). On a DD, not so much. Sometimes they pop up very late, you have little time to avoid flak, and you better spend time making sure you hit him. If you have to waste time and keep turning around him, yeah sure you lose planes. Not half as much as on a BB but hey. CV loses the third wave and even the second wave. But the first wave will hit, unless the CV screws that up as well. The dumbest DDs though, were already detected, and keep on same speed same direction. Wack, whack, whack, three strikes (one flight) and dead. Though if that is an AA-spec DD and he uses DEF AA plus "O" sector, you may only get one whack. No problem... he's on cooldown now... Indeed you might say his AA saved him (did, sort of). But I have seen DDs that lived longer though even if they had no AA at all, just because they used agility. Had one Mahan he had shut down his AA, spotted him only at 2.5k, had to turn, then he used O-sector and all he had. managed two strikes, he avoided half the ordinance. Had to come back, find him (he turned off AA again). I had dropped a fighter but he managed to shoot them down/escape them. Again, two whacks but he still wasn't dead. In the end it took me 4 flights out, and even then a teammate delivered the last blow and I had t send my CV running. NOW THAT WAS A DAMN GOOD DD. Gave the guy +1. SO, there can be DDs that "have it all". They are hard to kill (read: they take more effort and time). But if I want them dead, they are dead. For example if they think they can attack the CV (even two DDs and a CL... come to papa...) or if they are after my div-mate, or if they try to take our only cap... I'll make sure they are dead. But if they are just doing the usual (running to cap, smoke up, die in smoke...) well, I'm not interested in them. Other ships are far better in dealing with DDs, I'll leave them to it.

    I'll remember when I meet you in my ARrrRrRrk Royal... Seriously you have to watch those DDs when you attack them, usually you can just blap them without a care. Kidd, Sims, Friesland, and a few others... man they´re almost as hard to knock down as an AA cruiser. Mind though: in that game, their CV is bottom of the pile.

    It will help jinxing and stuff as well. Pull the handbrake just as he releases the bombs/rockets/torps. On a DD, might miss all, depending on what CV he has and skill. It is far better than DEF AA. On ships that have it, I just make a 'semi-attack'.... or I send the last plane from previous squad in, if he uses DEF AA on that... (OK he must be dumb... then again... I play on weekends...) guess what, then it will be on cooldown and I'll come back with a full squad and filet mignon his butt. Seriously one of these days I'm gonna crack 200K in the Ark Royal, I know it can be done. The usual is THIS... if the game doesn't end in a ROFLSTOMP (else it would be my average...) < I had two DDs coming after me so had to finish them, else I'd have gone 100+>

    Ah. Well I smacked Friesland often enough as well. I think it is something like Kidd, or similar. Not really a problem, but would not be my first choice. Meagre pickings. There's more DDs that put out lotsa flak, but it is usually avoidable. The problem is when they are next to another ship, pattern gets weird and hard to avoid all. I'd say Friesland drivers better not venture out all alone. If CV wants you dead, you are dead.

    I dunno about that, I killed an Alsace (T9) which has far more AA than any DD... with Ark Royal (T6... yes fail-divisioned). I'm quite sure I can get a Friesland as well, have hit them more than enough. Usually I just drop a fighter squad... same as with Smolensk. The problem usually isn't the CV itself. Though if I want one dead, sure will get him dead. Might take me 2-3 flyouts, but he's going down.

  10. Today we saw @iTchyfoot.... of course we were faildivisioning again... He thought we'd be pretty useless but I guess we weren't. Maybe Baguette cruiser is OP, ask Friesland (he was the reds best player ahhahaha) I ate his torps though, my bad (used to it though as I always go whack DDs when bottom tier).

    Currently trying to finally get a kraken on CV... so far not really working. The spotting is working against me now, they all want to finish the ships off. However I have become quite annoying for other CVs. I kill them. Usually other ships cannot get to them. Just for lack of other fodder... well... Too bad Ryujo... (he started it though). Warspite an Murmansk got a +, they were quite good. We'd have lost for sure without them. I think I need to learn though how to pick ships that won't get finished off by others.

    I'm quite sure he'll obliterate them. You can get better if you try. It's not far off really. Just depends what you do and what team you get. Easy E has much faster plane respawn, so you can afford to throw them away a bit. Also has larger squads on some. But don't rule out Lexi, I think the torps are a bit better. And the HE-bombers actually always hit, unlike those AP bombs (unless you're quite good). You'll have to be a bit more careful with Lexi and/or use some tricks. If you know the tricks it doesn't matter much, on most maps. Besides - at T10 they all hug islands. Which is an advantage. If you use the island between you and the target, the ship doesn't spot you so no AA. When you get in their DPS, there is no flak... yes your planes die on the way out.... but AFTER dropping. Even when playing CV I think it sucks. There's not enough CV fodder around, you are actually competing who gets there first. This also means all ships get slaughtered... like meat in a pond of pirañas.

    A shame really. WIth CVs there are so many variations to be made, which would not be more OP than the rest. Also, IMO the uneven tiers need to be filled. It is causing all kinds of problems.

    Ships in general... Well at least he isn't afraid to come here and ask advice. Which helped ME a great deal, I am still potato as hell but at least I do not suck that badly anymore. He is right though. Enterprise is OP as F, but only in capable hands. That is also why WG thinks CVs are no problem, likely. Mostly I do better than the enemy CV, and I know I am potato A.F.... Well... I'm not quite sure about that. Some ships are just better than others. Also, some players tend to be good in some class and worse in others. Have a look at my stats. Some ships are really crap, and I do well in them. Some are really good and I do not seem to manage to keep them > 50%. I think he'll be more like Flamu on steroids.

    I know, I rarely see them. But when they were "new" there were lots of them. Every other battle, 2x Ark Royal. So I think they did sell a lot of them... in the beginning. Granted they are harder to do well in then Furious. I think that is why you do not see them often. I think you'd like it... finally a challenge, of some sort.

    I'm quite sure ARk Royal sold well enough, I met heaps when I first had it. But they are getting less.... you actually need to work & try something if you want worthwhile damage. So far I have mostly either had more damage than the enemy (what ever CV he was in), or failed miserably (as you cannot carry potato ROFLSTOMP teams). WG aware... yeah yeah... oh masterrrr I find that hard to believe. Spreadsheet says plebs are having fun with CV, so new one will come.

    You have a point there. Maybe strap 2x Currywurst secondaries to the side then, full spec. But some DDs are hard enough to kill. I remember a certain Mahan when I was up against a certain player in Big E, in my poor Lexi. I could do 1 drop on him, second charge usually didn't make it - and he was jinxing like hell. Of course he didn't get me... however BigE took care of that then.

    I dunno why WG doesn't fix this. It is easy. Give all DDs insane AA. Then what happens, DDs go after the CV... OK, give the CV insane secondaries.

    Good question, next question (similar to other CVs). I suppose since German CVS were relatively small, they'd have small squads. That means, they'd do damage to having good speed (ME109/FW190), or being very accurate (Stuka) and sturdy. The biggest problem is CVs are quite OP, due to their "automatic spotting" and such. Since WG considers the ReeeeWork sort of finished, I'd not count on more CVs coming. If any are coming, it will be those that they have the models ready for. So: IJN, US and RN. If it were up to me I'd give CV players a choice when the subs are coming: change rocketfighters for asdic-depth-charge-bombers.

    IMO it's a waste how they did it... I'd have done: T4 - Fokker triplanes and all that famous stuff from WW2; T6 - early WW2 warbirds like ME109, Stuka, maybe some biplanes; T8 - late WW2 warbirds,still ME109, Stuka but now also FW190; T10 - Me262... but flimsy flimsy. Maybe have the Comet, but limit the range.

    Agreed, though they COULD mess around a bit, making: - T4 Ausonia (converted passenger liner); - T6 Jade/Elbe (converted passenger liners, one could be Premium); - T8 Peter Strasser (sister-ship of Zeppy); - T10 The stolen version of De Grasse... just to P.O. the French. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_aircraft_carriers_of_Germany ...nevertheless I don't think we'll ever see them.
