AP bombs are the most broken thing... better add some torpedoes. WG could have done a much better and more engaging job on CVs. The only one I really like to play is Ark Royal - the rest is just too easy. Yesterday I played the Lexington, has been a while, to get the snowflake off. I ended up #3 in a T10 game, the other CV (...Enterprise OMG) was almost bottom. And we lost. Meh!

I think subs will have no friends... like Cvs. Yes wrong, but you also think subs will have friends.

Well, they recently buffed it... but they nerfed Lion so I'm happy I have already passed that one!

Omaha is an excellent troll boat. I liked it so much I bought the Murmansk. Sure though it is a floating citadel, buit they all are. Hug the island and spam HE! Hell I even have Charleston... (premium ST Louis). Note that you can get the Salem for coal, it is "El Cheapo" Des Moines. Everything is the same except the radar/heal. DM gets better radar, Salem has LOL heal. It also has insane credit grind ability. This makes the playstyle quite different. You do not need much damage with Salem. So, this causes "kamikaze play": when your team needs that cap, you just go get it, even if it means you'll probably die. So you just attack that DD with abandon, radar it, kill it and then die going LOLOLOL gotchaaaaaa beeeaachchhh. Even without premium account you still make credit. Not with DM,. You'll need premium account, and a win plus reasonable score to break even. Mind for CB the Des Moines is better, and preferred, as it has better radar than Salem. I personally like the Brit CLs more though. But if you want to play CB... Minotaur is really risky. But nice in randoms. Permanent stays in my collection are Leander, Fiji and Edinburgh... not Neptune as Mino is better in every way... Maybe I should get back Emerald... I had such fun with it... should be a good sealclubber... Now grinding the French but I don't really get it though. IJN is good but didn't like the (rental) Zao much.... Same with Russian. Will get Smolensk though, too troll to miss. Definately gonna grind the Germans. Hindenburg is very versatile. I like cruisers for their maneuverability, maybe that is why I do not like RU and IJN.

Just don't grind that Cleveland Steamer, and imagine their shock when you kill it with a free grinded silver ship. There's many things good in this game, just try to enjoy them. I do. Usually at T6/7, where the most fun is. You'll see stupid stuff happen, and sometimes you can get away with the utmost crap moves (hilarious). I'll sure be having fun when I see one of those Gold Turds floating around. Betcha they're gonna get focused like Belfast usually was. Maybe there should be a special line in game. LOL can you imagine Jingles shouting "we have just dunked a Cleveland Steamer".

The problem with Edinburgh, the torps are quite a downgrade. It only has three. Leander has 5, Fiji has 4. Leander can blast a T6BB, Fiji... well... not a T7BB. But can finish it off. Edinburgh can't blast a BB and also will not get the chance to finish it off. Also, the further you go, the slower they accelerate/brake. Give me Leander. Then again... Neptune gets insane amount of torps and idiot range. Minotaur is even better. The disadvantage is, at that tier just about anything has radar, hydro and whatever, and they're quite blappable. There's another Edinburgh thing, no operations at T8. Shame really. T6 and T7 only. Radar-Edinburgh is an option though if you like playing it risky.

I have ONE 19pt captain (but a bunch on the way). What I do is I use him on the silver ship that I am grinding, since premiums from that nation do not have any captains - he gets those as well. This way he is the most useful and he grinds captain XP for the rest of the captains. Since he is now on the Tier 10 he also grinds captain XP in clan battles.

I think sometimes that might be the case, yes. Usually it is because I "get surprised" by what is happening. Of course it is not really a surprise, it is more like "oh no not again". Like, in the "stern chase" @Fodder1978 is talking about, sort of. Although I like a good stern chase in Hood... Try get me, B@st@rds! It happens in BBs and in cruisers, you are busy doing your thing, then when you take a look at the minimap, it is too late. All your buddies are dead or ran (even though you chose to follow half the team) and it is just you against 4BBs and a few CA and a DD. I'm sure you know the feeling...

Same as you, sort of. Except I sort of enjoy the CV rework - flawed as F as it is (because hell yeah it is). They could have (and can still) make it lots better. Maybe someday they will (cough cough). Oh and Saint Satan help the plebs if I get an Enterprise out of some box... Must say it makes me kinda skeptical for the (inevitable coming) subs... The bad and the ugly are similar like yours. Except I do not like those "weird" camo ships at all. Lucky for me you can just turn them off (same as the "shipgirls"). And then I get the problem, in chat they say "watch that Arpako" and I have no idea WTF... I think Jingles is hilarious though. Who thought of that at WG deserves a good bottle at X-mas. For me, the game is still funny. But I don't try to be very good at it, or take it personal. It is just a game, harvesting salt and potatoes is just a part of it (as is being a potato myself).

The moist fun thing about PEF was shooting them up with Hood... They buffed it since then, but it's still not the best ship ever.

That chart is on WoWS wiki... a handy read, if you really want to Git Gud. To prevent fires you can spec captain skills. There's one that gives max 3 fires and 10% less fire chance. You can use flags too (I usually do not). Also, after the repair, you get 20 secs immunity. Fire damage can be healed 100% so it is worth to spec into the heal. Iron Duke is pretty trolly when you do. Have 3 fires, don;t care, keep coming forward, kill the cruiser, and heal back.

I have NC myself, too. Nice boat but not the best AA (AA not a problem anyway...). Amagi even burns better. But you'll lose. Once I wiped almost complete North Carolina with... Ark Royal... yes the T6. Lexington is quite a bit stronger (and 19pt captain). In case you DO even see me, it has OK armour as well... A whole game just to murder one BB? You should be allowed to bring a friend.

Yeah well no, usually that doesn;t happen. I manage to sneak an Omaha or two, sometimes. Arizona with spotter plane can be very very troll. But usually, no at 20k you'll hit a BB for 5K and not blap cruisers. To blap them reliably you need to be < 15 km away, best is 12. And that doesn't change THAT much in higher tiers. Best (troll) exception is, you see them weave weave weave, and then they go in a straight line when they are "behind" the first island... BLAP. Or even better, they are so busy weaving they RAM THE ISLAND... I always remember, yes I am potato, but there's a lot of other potatoes and some even worse... Yup yup yup yup! Torpedoes are to be expected... nose in! Although, screw torps, I used to chase DDs when I had New York. I still do it... last "greatest hits" I had, whacked two Klebers (not outright kills) in CB with my Conqkek. Yes I was deliberately hunting them...
