Ah nerf they will not - but buff certainly happens. Well yeah Belfast but with fatter guns and very slow reload, then. I think it is workable. Butr hardly OP (but I don't think Belfast is that OP anymore though).

Don't worry BBMM have it covered... a bunch of ours play CVs... We'll just get a CV and a load of cruisers. A DD for the LULz too. Also, deck armour doesn't work much against torpedoes and rockets, and they'll still burn...

I have Midway... we will see indeed then. But at the Clan Brawl we met every other CV and well... in the end it is what you do with it. I didn't get many kills or hits, actually you are far better off using the CV for spotting and not attacking. Only hit to finish one off or get that one that tries to get away. Because when you spot, your teammates can deal damage much faster (and usually more reliably) than you can. Yeah sure you can kill that DD, but it means you focus on one ship. Yoiu might not even kill him at once. That means you need to get new planes and your team is temporarily "blind". If you spot him for one minute, calculate how much ammo will be dropped on him...

This is actually a thing, really. Somers has not the best AA. But does it matter? Because... in my CV it doesn't really matter, only one or maybe two more planes get killed. Somers, Gearing, Daring, Shima, Grozovoi... hmmm... well... all CV food just some of them a bit spicy. No DD can escape for long, a Friesland (but that's T9) might last slightly longer but also not like "invulnerable". Because spotting is a thing and even if I cannot kill him directly, they will.

Neither am I but in a few days I'll have the Donskoi as well. So far I think Buddyonny-Shchors-Chapayev has been quite a powerful increase. That Chapayev is kinda OP at T8, really... so maybe the Donskoi is just a disappointement? All lines have their "flawed boat".

What do you want it for? For CB, or randoms or...??? I noted that it has the same 50% service-cost reduction as Salem. THEN they add the camo-bonus. Which sort of craps credits, instead of having to spend credits when playing randoms T10. That's a bonus for me, I am definitely average and play weekends - so WR goes down the drain. Means it is "affordable" for me to play Salem (~35K damage on a loss = break even). I grind credits even while losing ROFLSTOMPS... means I can afford to practice with it. As a result I'll at least be able to hit something with it in CB and know how to angle/survive.

I wouldn't say the content is less toxic... I think the bottle is prettier, but that's my opinion.

The reason for the Reework was the "map view" itself, they wanted it more like "the rest". But they might as well have transplanted the whole rest of the mechanics, instead of replacing them with something that is just as broken - sometimes even MORE broken.

I'd not say halved maintenance cost is minor. It means you make credits if you do 35k damage, on a lost game. That's true. WR is lowest of all T7. But...still makes nice credits even if damage and WR is down. But we do not know if he wants a teamplay boat, credit boat, good for CB or anything. We do know any silver-line T10 has the same economics if you spend the gold for the camo.

Yup. We have already ascertained that T9 is better when you want them for economy. The question is, will WG alter something to the credit-earning when they make them coal-ships? Well, we can't all be very very good. If some win all the time, there will be those that lose... I assumed he wanted a T10 (since T9 is known for having better economy) for CB. But... he may want to "enjoy" some random battles over the weekend... Yes it is questionable. So are the ways of WG, and as such it is not about T7, but about what questionable rewards or crapolio WG invented... Like Salem (and that's not a DD, I know...) also has some economy stuff - aside from the usual perma-camo.

Dude I do not really care about DDs except how to avoid them sending me to the bottom... And I only play the mid-tiers, only do T10 for the Clan Battles. I can tell you which DDs are the most annoyance though and which are very much meh.

well that's how much I know about DDs. I meet the T10 in CB, and so I know which ones are lethal and which ones are never used or meh. I'd say Somers is plenty worth it, but can never know if he'll like the ship. We have players that won't touch Gearing OR Shima with a bargepole. We have one that ALWAYS plays his Somers. And we have one that wrecks cruisers with a Daring, he goes in, you think "well he is dead now", but no... the former 100%HP cruiser is dead. All of them are PLENTY HOT DAMN GOOD with those boats, because they can exploit them for what they are worth. I also ASSUME he wants it for CB, else - for economy yes take T8-9. Wouldn;t know which one though.

Our most used combo is Daring + Somers, really. Shima has good torps but can't shoot. I've seen a Daring wreck a full health Hindenburg. Somers also has lotsa dakka, plus lower detection than Gearing? But... you may not even play CB, and then there's also other options. AND Halland might be better, I dunno. It also depends on YOUR playstyle what you like, and the amount you'll see use of it will depend on the setup of the clan. I'm happy for me the choice is clear, as I play cruisers in CB and usually no high tiers... (So: stick to T7 and get Balanzgrad for CB...).

Saving the steel for that one might be smart. Or is it coal? I know that but see next one. THAT is what I mean, reduced service cost baked-in. T9 doesn't matter if you consider purely Clan Battles though. If not for use in CB, yes there are many more that I'd say are more worth of the steel.

Not sure about that (for example something fishy with Sims, ask @ForlornSailor) but you'd have to get that perma-camo then. Which is 5000 doubloons for a T10. So... might be "somewhat worth it". The regular camo don't offer such stuff, though some special camos do.

There is something else to consider: premium income. Somers is not better/worse than Shima, Gearing or Daring, just a bit different. So it depends how you get along with it. But it will get much more credits, and you will notice after a season of Clan Battle. If your clan always wants you in a DD, well, you might as well get it. As in: I do not have Des Moines, so I use Salem and after a season I'm sitting on 10M credits. I'll try get Stalingrad since I'm a bit lacking in cruisers (grinding Moskva/Worcester).

Which could go for most ships, including (and mostly) DDs that are whining. But even though I like CVs I think that they are too easy and WG could have done better. As in "more enjoyable" for player, and for the CV-food.

It is easy to see who-is-who, are they complaining because they LOSE or because the WIN too quickly.

Dude, there is nothing that proves your point - CVs required adapting, if you do not then you are screwed. I've been playing CLs mostly because I am grinding for CB. DDs will be back later. The point is, I play them, not much but I do. You never played CV except the over-buffed T4. Take Hermes (which wasn't buffed, still 1 torpedo) and then come again. Even then: 2 CVs and look. Our Benson is #3. He knew what to do. Gaede didn't, he started whining at the first second. Went off alone to cap. BOOM. Benson stayed a bit more near, and he did well. Good teamplayer.
