  1. Actually those are sort of the right words but a bit the wrong order. Let me help: WG doesn't give a but(t)(crack) and their policy will not change, so that is why I see they fail. I think we'll agree about this being wrong. First thing, it is not you that is failing (to see, or whatever). It cannot be right. Also, by adding some T and crack you'll always see it more clearly. Balancing yes. Balance IMO is when you reward the ""good" behavior, and punish the "bad". But hey. Maybe we are wrong about what WG considers good/bad, and we must go to gulag...

    True. Just you get much more fires in RN. And if you know what to hit, that matters in T6/T8. When you get uptiered (T6 = +2/-1), fires matter. Not talking about T10 here, haven't got those yet. And those never get uptiered. Solid it is. Just the rest is better... Not for me mate. Ranger lagging behind a bit. Actually, largely I agree. Just... maybe switch Incapable and Indamnitable. Main thing: Enty not being available anymore, it means I need to practise Shokek. A lot. The IJN is better... or should be (or maybe I should not grind it in weekends...). They do, generally they are solid performers. Notice that you too, put Ryujo and Shokek in front them... (...and no more Enty eh except from X-ma$$$ crates).

    If you can't play very well, Ark Royal is a total craphut. Especially when you get uptiered, the slow planes will F you up. And since you can get +2/-1 (can't go under T5), well... guess. The problem with the slow planes is... well they are slow. You'll spend more time in the DPS-zone, and also you'll get a few more whacks of FLAK. Now if you are good enough to avoid (most) FLAK, you will still need to compensate to do the same kind of damage. Which means (for example) you will have to hit ALL THREE torps. And better send lots of sheep to RNGesus. If you get "quick"games (let's be honest, ROFSTOMPS) you're also much more affected in Ark Royal. No matter if you win or lose. Meh damage. I definitely agree on that one, unless the T10 is mega. I haven't got that yet (just the Midway, which is good).

    Well... the amount of GitGud for them to work varies a bit. I'm quite sure I'll surpass the Ryujo in Ark Royal, someday. And I'm also quite sure I suck in the Shokaku and need more GitGud. I'd not say US CV at T6 and T8 are the best ones though.
  5. I'd think that as a skill for AA- ships though. Maybe if the AA_cruiser (or DD... Sims, Black) has DEF-AA< all the ships in such-and-such range get theirs activated as well, free of charge, and no matter if they have it specced or not or whatever captain skill. That way it would PAY OFF for ships to go together with an AA-cruiser. It would also pay off to protect them from other harm. Teamplay would be encouraged. On the other hand, then let those aerial torps finally do some damage instead of the meh-stuff we have now.
  6. Well, I remember what masterrr @El2aZeR said about that, and I think it is wisdom: balancing should not be about the worst players (or something like that). Remember there's still a lot of straight-on sailing BBs... broadsiding cruisers... and yes these even potate/bribe their way to T10. Now how much fun are you having there, and guess why? Masterrrr is right, I know so. Have faith in masterrr!
  7. Yes, and now it is "the first wave always gets through". Which is really stupid. Unless you shoot down all the planes, but that will not happen. OK might happen if you have a noob CV that just attacks in straight line with flimsy planes when full AA is running. But he'd miss the torps or whatever he has anyway, most likely.

    Mwah. I'd not be for that, what good would it do me? Same as dumping fighters, and even slamming F3. Nobody gives a damn. I sort of like them, mainly I like Ark Royal for the challenge (slow planes...). Some of them I find kinda meh and some a bit too easy. Some of them I simply find unrewarding. I'm usually a BB (and some CL) player. Never play DDs... OK sometimes (badly). Most played = Ark Royal, Hood, then Arizona, Queen E, Leander, Salem...
  9. The biggest problem there is the "replace plane" system. In the RTS days, if you shot a torpedo-plane, it left a hole where you could escape. This is one of the things I'd kill, similar to "damage gets done to last plane of squad".
  10. These three are good thinking. So, speed/direction stays. Then randomize the rest? For example, with Derpitz I know if one flak-line appears left, next one is gonna appear right. Easy. Almost to the point you recognize each ship by the flak-pattern. But how about "pattern shifting". Knock off the DPS (which is stupid anyway), make it all FLAK. Have the player decide if he wants continuous, or all at once. Press button to change. AA_cruisers would get more (and heavier) patterns. Most important though: make AA repairable. At least for a bit. And certainly on AA-cruisers. And then captain skills would decide how many "patterns" you get. Hell those manga-botes can even have various floral designs.

    Well... the thing is they only have a few. RN bombs are much easier to use, aso depends on the target. That's true. Now try T6. It's not all great with the US. True. Wasn't talking about rockets though. Depends. If you can hit all 3 torps with Ark Royal, it's much better than Ranger. But a lot of RNG, too. IF you hit... and not talking about the torps. They're just plain better. Even if you only get two.

    This is the same with US CVs though. They just have better torps. IJN CVs have AP bombs. But if you hit is also RNG. But IF you hit...

    Same reason some games last less than 5 minutes and one side is completely dead, or all yolo-lemming to the other side, the base gets capped and you lose even if you killed half the enemy team, you do 150k damage, have two caps and 4 ships more and they all suicide into the torps of that one DD that is left, or your team ends up losing because enemy has all the caps and your team al hides at map border. WG has "tough luck based" matchmaking. Yes the ships are (sort of) matched-up. But your team might end up with all the spuds, and the reds get all the pro dudes... BTW somehow I do understand them. How many times in my NC did I sneak up to a cruiser/BB, waiting for him to give me that broadside, and then when he does... he gets deleted because he just ate all torps from our DD.

    Furious is good, but Implacable is mega-crud. So much crud I didn't even grind the T10. Ark Royal (T6 premium) is excellent with some Git Gud, if you can live with the slow planes. In fact I'd rather take Ark Royal to a T8 game than Implacable... Best IMO are the US ones. Not the premuim T8 though, it requires A LOT of Git Gud. US best balanced and Midway quite good. IJN yes, great, but you also need GitGud because of the weak (but fast) planes. However those AP bombs... when/if they hit... BOOMSHANKA! Premium IJN T8 (Kaga) is sort of meme, torps, torps, torps. Has no AP bombs. Check https://wows-numbers.com/ it will show you something.

    I'd go for the juicy subs then in my CV. Of course, WG wil... well... I think you're right. Meanwhile let's change those rocket planes for depth-charge bombers, then. I do want something in return: mega-secondaries, as when there are 4 DDs, always one that comes for me. He'll not make it, but if I need to defend DDs instead of hunting them, I want quid-pro-quo.

    Just ff-ing around grinding Shokek, sometimes good, sometimes bad. However when we lose she gets temperamental and starts shooting down friendly planes.

    Yup. It doesn't even need to be that hard. Nor that accurate. But I know some in my clan they use Match Making Monitor. Holy crap how they are getting their games ruined even before it starts. The thing is: 99% of the time, it ends up as predicted. But I'll never use it. At least I can have the illusion of "fair chance".
