Strange mystery of unknown origin
BLUB__BLUB replied to anonym_hiiw5uZtBExP's topic in General Discussion
As from february (or something), you get no more missions to grind the legendary mods. How it works now: you'll have to reset a line (means you lose all the ships form T1 to T10), and when you regrind it you get "tokens" to buy that Legendary mod in the Research Bureau. -
Strange mystery of unknown origin

Any fat BB HE can crap on Smolensk. But it takes a few braincells. Yesterday (last game of day) I took Smolly and found a Yamato. I farmed 100K of him... before he remembered to shoot HE. I was sitting broadside and detected... ...and he just kept going FWD-RWD in open water. -

Yes, I do not use it because it only leads to frustration. But usually, the prediction is correct. You do a similar thing yourself usually. At least I do. When I see a TTT or PARAZ division (or NWP) on the reds... I'm not saying, blunt everything until every team has average 50%. I'd say start when the difference is more than 15% (average over 12 players) or so. One or two ot three 40%ers wouldn't matter much, neither would 70%ers. But when you hear your team has six 40%ers... and the reds have five 70%ers... The ROFLSTOMP... can you feel it... -
I'd say the fault is -easy- vs how much damage. Like, yes AP on a citadel is much damage, but it is difficult. Shooting HE and farming fires is much more easy, but can be repaired. How about a fix-rocket-damage thing. Yes a DD can still be killed by rockets, if he stays exposed. But if he runs, he can manage to heal it. CV can still kill him if he comes for the CV.

IMO it doesn't matter if you do it with the good or the bad. Just prevent the "idiot teams". Some of my mates have Match Making Monitor, then they go, oh here comes another ROFLSTOMP. They (or we) have "seven purple" or "six 35%", and they amaze themselves how is that even possible... Frustrating of course, is when 4 people that done nothing have been shot in first minutes... But when the other side has the same thing, just means "opening hunt season clearance sale"... Which also means, you also get to shoot a few of those. Yes both teams get some. "MM change" would happen to the good AND the bad. -
Well, I started to f grind for the Venezia, so wait. When I have it no doubt it will be nurrrrffffd to the max. Usually happens. So all you have to do is wait until I have it. Shouldn't be long.

TBH some DDs will run forward so hard, looks to me they need to beat the cruisers to sink...

Yeah better attach them to enemies...

Who thought double CV games at t8 is fun?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Jaki_AJK's topic in General Discussion
The best advice I can give is, grind the ones that you need (for CB, or something), then sell all the crud and be happy larking around in T5/6/7. A ship like Kiev is not the one I'd have on my wishlist... I got T8 DD Silliwangi form a container, guess what. -

yes it is. Wel... I make money (credits) playing my Cvs... I usually take them out when I have had enough of the potato-Cvs that I get. Dive-mates usually do not like a CV. Until they realise they'd better have a "good" one than another... well... Also it learns them about countermeasures. Not that you can REALLY counter, but you can frustrate a potato CV a bit. -

Well, maybe your WR would go lower - but maybe not. You will win if you are better. I think what would go up is your damage and kills... Because now you get to have full games instead of ROFLSTOMPS. You'll get more XP from the game. -

Actually your whole TEAM will have two more of those. Correct. Correct again. I also suppose MM shouldn't try to get it to 50%. Just SOME shuffling to prevent ROFLSTOMPS. It will not - it will prevent the ENEMY from collapsing faster. AKA stop ROFLSTOMPS. Remember you are NOW sometimes that only +60% player, and then you will NOT be. Because, as you say, that 60% is not that special. But you will have less "special"players, if that is so. Which is why it should not matter THAT much. Well no. Because the average is not important. But... say you have such a team (and usually they have >70%, BTW). I've seen them often enough at T6, 3-man-div, the only ones having fun is THEM. I don't think yours would "plummet". But yes WR of bad players would rise. A few % maybe. On the other hand. You'd have longer games and get a lot more damage. I'd say maybe make it "compensate" less in higher tier games. Say upto T5 it shuffles 5 people, T6 it shuffles 4 people, T7 it shuffles 3.... But I'd also say a unicum-division in low tiers deserves a full complement of potatoes... I'm not that worried TBH, but I also get both ROFLSTOMPS and ROFLSTOMPed. When you win well yeah you win but you can't score anything. In some ships I have >60%. Can't say I enjoy those games more than others though, even if I seems to do pretty well in those ships. When you lose well you don't score much (or maybe sometimes, you do... but you are the only one). And yes as such your WR would maybe suffer, depending how much better you are than the rest. But the judge after such would not be WR, it would be how much damage/kills you make. Which will rise. And you'd still be able to have a higher WR than the average, you'd just have to do more work for it... -

But that's not how it is supposed to work. Say you have 64%, the average of teams is important. Your average would not matter that much if the other team all has 50%. But say they have 3 players that have 45%. Now that means YOU will be moved to that team. The 40% dude will probably end up in yours. I bet it will improve your kill rate... Teams get more equally matched. Doesn't mean that you can't be a good player anymore. 60% players are not that rare. I doubt if you're the only one. But when ROFLSTOMPS happen. Mostly though your team has 3 or 4 players that have 60%+. And the other team has 3 or 4 that have below 45%. WHEN ROFLSTOMP doesnt happen... That is probably when coincidence MM already took care of it. -

As I said there is indeed a LARGE volume of potato-CVs out there. We agree mate. A DD can negate 75% of CV-players using these methods. I regularly div-up with a DD main. He usually lives to the end of the game, and ends up top score. Wel... only if the DD-playter is good in äll of the above"he will survive against me. And I'm not unicum, far from it. I'm quite savvy... "plenty good enough" in some ships. It is because you do not understand what they mean. COUNTER means you have some kind of hitting back. But you do not. Even if I can't kill the damn DD or it takes me a long, long time - he is NOT countering my CV. Because there's nothing he can hurt me. Yes he can keep me busy so I can't farm a BB. But I keep him busy as well. Meanwhile, the risk of going to the bottom is his, and not mine. It's not as much OP, as "broken". I don't understand all that, but it is true most DD players just whine and do nothing at all for change. Upto the sort that doesn't even give a damn if I release torps on them, and then shouts all kind of hell when they get killed by CV torpedoes. Those that sit still in smoke shooting (so their position is known) and then they get dropped on... That's not me being good, it is them being... well... less than great. -
That is why I take resource containers. I get 400 coal and 6 flags, usually.

I guess for a rebirth you first have to die... Have seen very few people pull off radar Mino.

CB ratings, expressing perfectly our feelings about CVs
BLUB__BLUB replied to DxN69's topic in General Discussion
Most likely. But well I grinded like nutter through Shokaku (with resulting stats... around 50% just going for the grind), and now I have 9 games in randoms in Hakuryu (and 55%). I have >60% in Ryujo. So... yes a learning issue. In Ryujo I do it even without thinking. Long way away from that in Haku (but at least I know how to avoid flak, and such). Nevertheless I usually do miles better than my opponent on the red team. Which makes me think I'm quite savvy. No illusions though there's better players out there and certainly in CB Storm/Hurricane League. So: Two realible cits per pass? Not for me (yet). But I'll get there (SoonTM)... In case you missed it: -
Remember it will not work that much on a Smolensk in smoke. That thing has so quick firing the tracers usually do not point at the ship. Also, it doesn't eat citadels as bad as a Mino. That said it is a lot slower to get going/steering so it does like eating torps.
-
Well not every ship suits everybody. For example I grinded Moskva. Great ships until I reached T9, also. Man that was a piece of @%#@@#. But some people love it. I grinded the US BB line. And then I found Lolorado at T7.... piece of @%#@@#. But some people love it. I grinded the RN BB line. And then I found King Grog the Filth at T7.... piece of @%#@@#. But some people love it. So... eventually you'll learn to live with it. Or grind through it and sell it. I have kept some ships that I grinded because I like them and they seem to suit me. Others I sort of learned and grew on me. Some I still hate (and have sold). But why they put that there... no idea... but can't be "all killers no fillers".

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
BLUB__BLUB replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
There is no need for that at all. If players are stupid, well, stupid is as stupid does. It will reflect in WR/damage. Therefore it is easy to "balance out". If guys running Match Maker Monitor can do it... not like they have the "premonition gift", really. Well yes those "most players" have the 40%WR... It is possible to distribute them equally. Share the joy... -
Who thought double CV games at t8 is fun?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Jaki_AJK's topic in General Discussion
@Hirohito This is true. However, there are A LOT of potato CVs out there. And certainly this stuff will not work agains @El2aZeR. But then again... I think anyone in a cruiser is also FFd when he is in any other ship, no matter which one. @Jaki_AJK However a DD that doesn't grasp this idea, well yeah, he'll live as long as it takes for the CV to find him. Shorter, if there are two CVs (which I find abominable, too). Same as BB going straightline same speed when there's a few DDs. Or a cruiser showing broadside to a (few) BBs. You won't live long... I've seen it plenty times. That is why I do not drop fighters over DDs. At most I'll drop them in front, so they intercept the other planes. Or I'll drop them such that they spot the enemy, then my DD can smoke up and still shoot something. Furthermore, teammates may shoot the (radar)cruiser that is a threat to my DD. But 1 DD in a double-CV match... like an Emerald in a match with 10BBs. -

I know I have room to improve. Will, too. But YOU need to remember there's "the average" player. I'll do reliable damage in randoms where I can pick my own, but not in CB "on call". And there's many many clans that do not have a very good CV player. Heck there's most that have not even the average one. Maybe you have a very good CV, I'm just "reasonably savvy". Means I'll beat the 50% average but I'm no @El2aZeR or @Bear__Necessities. I'll keep trying though. Need a bit more practise in Haku I'd say... -

BLUB__BLUB replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
Yes, and start that if there's players with >60%WR. Those 10% are not gonna matter. Well, just to make sure... also do it with players < 40% (I bet that will be more work). I think it will work MIRACLES. Simple check too: measure time of games. You do not need 100% accurate MM. It would take too long, too. And it would be... well... sketchy. Because it would also require accurate calculations and that is simply not possible. Problem is you have so many ships that depend on DoT. What wil they do in a 5-minute-game. Well nothing, and that is also why I do not have 60-70K average on Ark Royal. Because there's games... you do 15-25K... and you know you could not do more (win or lose). Even when you win, you go glglglglglglglggllllllllrrrrsrststtsststs@^@##@%%@..... Same in higher tiers. 35K on a Conqueror, bleeding credits. Enjoy... Something like, first use normal MM, then even out the total WR a bit. You have 12 players. 12*50% = 600. If one side has 900... you know what is about to happen... Swap some players left/right. Of course you will not reach 600 vs 600. But sort of. Hey I know some that use Match Maker Monitor. They can do it while the game loads. I'm sure WG can do it.
