This has two reasons: 1. You are the most influential ship. If a team can kill the other teams DDs, big chance they will win. 2. some CV players that is all they can do, they lack ability to take the larger ships. Also - at #1 when there is a CV the opposite Cv will also try to kill the DDs. So you MUST kill the DDs. Even oif you'd rather leave the meagre suckers alone, then your team will lose because the other CV will kill yours. Take the EU Dds and you might be surprised. They are very effective against most (mediocre) CV players. I agree tough that it is very unfair for the DD players. R Then again... if you do not kill them, you lose. So you are priority target. Which DDs always have been... I agree. But part of "being at the back of the map" though is inherent. Like, Ark Royal has 15km detection range. At T6. All the time. It is the size of Hood but higher. With the armour of Leander or something like that. And the manouevrability of... well... Now you cannot steer the ship while planes are flying - you need to trust the drunk WG booze pilot. Suddenly it makes sense... or not? Great and unicum CV players have come up with lots of nifty, fun and engaging stuff. But WG ignored them. They still seem too hard to play for many people... can you imagine? GREED is why we have this game in the first place... if they could not make money with the game, they had better go into Pr0n business. Or something. Yes but once these players have all the stuff, they will not spend any more money. This is where the game differs from... well... that "other" entertainment business.

Agreed. I only got killed by subs once, and they came with 3 subs and a DD. I could not save my team there (well, it was mostly b0ts...). When they come in packs there is just one mistake: make sure you are not camping behind a mountain. I made that mistake once. Saw them coming but left it a bit too late. Still got one sub and the DD. Another game they went there again, but now I wasn't where they expected me to be... LOL... and then I killed their CV. Correct. And they can't catch you. First they came with 2 subs and a DD (my team was...well... ehh...). Second time I had moved in a weird position... that was fun... managed to kill their CV, too (Ryujo and he was out of planes) Once they fix the 6m cheese there is no problem for CV. I played them a few times to know how they work. Like DDs I will suck at them but once you know they are easy to counter. I'd still like the option to ditch rocket planes and exchange them for ASW planes if possible. I do not need rockets to kill DDs. And I can help my team better with ASW stuff. -

Yes CV has no problem killing them. But if they come to your CV, then there is a problem, because they do not have to surface to kill your ship. -
Yes, or else it would mean you'd have to wait it out - which might take all game. EDIT: it may be hard to believe for people who never have seen the RTS CVs.

I think he'd have lost a LOT of planes, leaving him sort of limpdicked for the rest of the game. But with CVs as they are now, even a tater like me could whack that Mino. Same as when I am in Hood, before Reeework I'd go: oh what is coming, well this is not too bad wait a minute.... Usually when he came with torps, turn in, find a gap (always one or two planes dead so there is a hole), slip through it. And then next time he'd come with two squads and I'd use the Def AA, and mow down a load of his planes... But now, well use the Def AA get two planes free and still eat torpedoes, hurray

If he is at 5.8 m then RNGesus just wants more sheep. You should hit him and it would be a mega-blap. But, I found the same thing with my Queen Elizabeth, while Arizona deleted them in one go no problem. One or 2 shells is enough usually but Arizona just has more chances (also, make sure to get your secondaries on them). You do not really have to aim very well... get the stick in the middle of the reticule... I shot them from 20km using the spotter plane on Arziona. Heheheh. But it's just RNGesus loving me. All skill no luck. So: Either that or he managed to cheese you and slip below 6.0m just in time. -
Well, after testing --> separate mode. Shows me at least some braincells have awakened. I have hope maybe more survived vodka attack.

I think we all agree to that. Besides, we have no choice. If WG dumps them in randoms "as is"... we either take it or leave it.

I used the coupon... I think. Anyway best premium I ever got. Wouldn't say it is stronger that Ryujo though. But yes you can do MUCH better if you are in div. Because when you work together you can just burn down half the red team. "That BB just used DCP"... right... guess who is the next target... Randoms: TBH I just grinded through all except Ark Royal (which I like and use A LOT). In division with Ark Royal my WR gets to almost 70%. But Ryujo can do >60% solo. Mind that's weekend play, and I'm not "very good", just a bit more savvy than the rest. -

You still can, 20 euro in premium shop (it is NOT Enterprise... I think you mean your Hakuryu, so not T6 but T8...). And yes Enty is OP as hell (and broke AF, like all Cvs). But you can still get Kaga... which is frankly just hilarious. Ark Royal is competent, yes. But dependent on DoT. I can do 100K in a regular game. But here is the problem. How many regular games (= 50% chance of win, and >15 minutes) do you get? Nowadays? In weekend? In the "new normal" less-than-10-minute ROFLSTOMP a Ryujo will outperform the Ark Royal, usually. Also the ship-whacking AP-bombs give better carry potential for Ryujo (not with subs though). Quite sure though I can do loads more damage with Ark Royal. But it would be mostly DoT. for subwhacking... and DD smacking... yes take Ark Royal. Yes they are too small, certainly if you take into consideration a BB that has fired can be seen all oveer the FF-ing map. Now why would they run for map border... duh. The most objections I have though are there is no "realism". AKA by now the "a few circles and bunch of islands"is getting stale. WG have shown they can do better. Harbour protection, convoys, forts... bring it on.

I like it. The Russian line is strange though. I found Donskoi more of an oddball. That's not most games I have in Moskva though, as I usue T10 mainly in CB. I do not like the random games in T10. Many people there that you just go WTF. Those ships are too overpowered IMO. It leads to either stale gameplay, once the ball gets rolling it is over quickly. For example at T5, T6, T7 you can do stupid stuff in BB all day ;long with out getting deleted. T10, not so much. One wrong move and you are dead in 30 seconds. Games tend to be carefully sneeking up, and then BAM BAM POOF. Which is why I do not like it and almost never play T10. But hey. Good that not everybody likes to play the same ships. I somehow like RN cruisers, too. But I hate the Italians... and they hate me as well.

Well if you end up in the top half of the team, you didn't do bad... Grind for Moskva, anyone? Does it show I really hated Donskoi? Liked the rest just fine. What is worse, after that I grinded the Italian cruisers... oh boy there goes WR... Because so far I hate them... Venezia better be VERY VERY good to make up for this crap. Most people are grinding for Moskva... which means you get a lot of people that "just have it". Always when grinding, you do not know the ship, haven't got it spaded, captain is dumb... Also - when there are a lot of new people (in the weekend...) teams get bad. Once two, three ships are killed, it all snowballs downhill. Fast.

...and the torpedoes. You can see their depth. When you see them rise to surface... Sensible is when they go for the cap, or are trolling your teammate using that 5.9-6.0 thing. Sometimes when they have just killed something, then they are unaware, and want to reload the batteries quickly. The rockets on Ryujo are not fast-aiming. All of the above. Ark Royal is very very good, because the planes are slow. You have plenty time to aim. Torps are underestimated though. The thing is, when that sub sees your planes he knows what they carry. And when it is torps, they go "ah well so what". Forgetting they can't turn very well... -
Don't worry, it is just a fact that you will meet some players that are very very good. Yes and you will get obliterated... especially if you are in a T6 and he is in a T8. And yes even more if you are in a DD and he is in a CV. But next time you may be in the T8CV and that unicum is in a T6 DD...

Basically... you do not wait until you spot them. I sunk 3 in one game, and usually I sink two (unless the DDs get them first). You must play them yourself (at least a bit and doesn't have to be very good), and then you earn to predict them. I got some with torpedoes... because I know that when I see one go to cap, he will have to surface there in order to take it. If you want to get them "surprise MF" then you drop fighters (why aren't they called spotters anyway) above where you expect him to turn up. And of course when your teammates spot them... divving up advised. Some CVs are more equal than others though. Ark Royal is very very nifty. Ryujo is difficult, I never managed to get a sub dead with bombs so far. -
Well I am hoping they'll introduce them next. Operations have shown they can do it. I'm quite bored with the circles surrounded by island crap.

That data doesn't even show if it was done in divs or not. I can do 70% in div with the Ark Royal. Solo, more like 50%... it makes lots of damage and can be a great help to the team. But Ark Royal is not a win-factor. But that's my opinion, and I usually play weekends (glue, anyone?).

So will I. And if they still FF-it up, well, then it is the choice to live with it or find some other game. However I will not go just saying nooo noooo nooo, as it will not help at all. We WILL get subs. They had that in one version on the test server. All ships need hydrophone though. Else they wil not "see" the sub coming. A snorkel would be good at higher level, say a "limited" one at T8 ( refreshes air at low speed only). There doesn't have to be a difference. Oxygen supply can be refreshed same as loading the batteries. -

... and I will shoot from the hip, too, when they screw it up. I'm not sure if that means "not easy". I see plenty DDs running to cap, smoke up.... easy? In lower tiers it works, too. Like DDs, who have smoke (usually) y to be UNspotted part of the match, subs are REVERSE, they have water to keep them UNspotted but should also need to be spotted for part of the game. Like DDs, only at the edge of their own un-spotting. The one spotted should have some awareness where the spotter is. And then be able to do something about it. Attack, find, or run. ...I assume that is THE FIRST THING that they remove. I'll not even go and test it again if they haven;t removed it. Correct. CVs are bad enough, now don't make a h new mega-CV. -

On the PTS you could play other ships, but almost nobody ever did. Only subs and b0ts. They had various mechanisms, including "air supply" and stuff they tested. More-or-less guised torpedoes. Also various methods of detecting, and depth-control (in stages, at one moment). One time subs could not even go surface. Mainly, the PTS was a thing to see if it actually worked (like the controls and all that). And to see if subs would not fall off the earth, or other stuff. It was not actually a test of "how do they interact". You could take other ships: Last test they forgot to limit CVs and then we took 3CVs in a div, we did get player subs there. -

What they learnt is that just "checking the mechanism"on a test server is not sufficient. And what they learnt is that it leads to a lot of Reeeee Reeee and that controlling (...not fixing) that is a lot of work. SO this time they are doing it by ACTUALLY making a test mode, free for everyone. Granted it is not yet perfect. Too little surface ships. But it already showed something the "test server" did not. Now let's see if they actually go fix it. I think they will. Get the "scheese"out. Then have another test -round to see if it is sufficient. And another round to balance damage and such stuff at T6. Then a few more for other tiers. Should be quite possible to get them "into shape" before X-mas. -

Yes the spotting is bad enough, and I can get them with bombs/torps anyway. No no-go-zones. They'd be depthcharges with a set timer. So behind the BB it would go boom-boom deep under water. If the sub chases the BB, he'd have to be careful. And if he is underwater, he'd not see them launched but he'd see them fall... so he has to go surface to avoid them and then face secondaires/main guns. Yes ASW planes could be a thing too, like fighters and spotter planes. We will get them no matter what. Might as well try to help WG make them good. Or at least bearable.
