CV player is smart, spots you and uses rockets to set fire on a BB and a cruiser. I see as many DDs as CVs... sometimes even more DDs... Usually there are 3 per game...!!! Why? Usually I div up with a DD mate and we wreck the whole lot. Means he is pretty much used to a CV, somehow he still does good. Look who is top dog with most XP and 5 kills.

Mind that Ark Royal will need some GitGud and will not provide fast spotting... I'd say "get the FREE Ryujo"... though I have it and my mate has T61... LOL. Remember, BB or CV --> there will be 6 cruisers. I doubt if there will be many DDs. Ryujo is far more effective (and fast) against cruisers, Ark Royal is really good in a long game with lots DDs and BBs - but that's just my opinion. Time to grind that 19pt captain... -
It might be that some of your guns got damaged in randoms. SO they did not shoot, while they were still "alive" in training.

Well maybe the rest of them sniffed glue but indeed that's how it is done. Uhhh... you sure you have Smolly mate. I'm sure the Queen Elizabeth accelerates faster. And brakes quicker (unless it is on an island). Also, try the rudder. Mino has one, in Smolly they just throw a keg of vodka overboard left/right, that's it. But it makes it easier to stop (AKA hit island). It does float on for a zillion miles, but acceleration is much much better. When you see torps in Smolly you just go "ah well, glue, cyka blyatt, boom".

Why, well obviously because I also want to try to get 260k. As I'm not that good so I'd settle for half I don't play many DD, my talent for that runs out at T6 sort of. Have Minotaur but can't say I'm any good, lots of GitGud needed but I like RN cruisers. Someday (...eh) I might get to it. Meanwhile I'm practicing Ryujo and Shokek a bit, spading the captains and such. Might meet your Mino, we'll see. Ikea DDs aren't really a problem, unless they are very very smart. I think you might be one of those though. Well the thing is if in Mino you see torps coming, you can get away. Not so much in Smolly. Then again, that rubber armour.... I always play a few matches of Smolly if I feel teams deserve it that day. Which is pretty much every day.

But they ARE smacking those in, the hope we (could, might, may...) have is that they learned form CV-Reeeeework. Looks like they have, as at least now they are trying tests in a separate mode first. But I have not the slightest doubt they'll smack them in. You can bet your behind on that... Which is why I'll be trying to help them with feedback best as I can... we can go Reeeee Reeeee after... -

The way I see it, if they do T4/6/8/10: T4: subs need to surface to refresh air and recharge slowly. T6: subs need to surface to refresh air and recharge quickly. T8: subs still need to resurface for air, but can recharge (slowly) with snorkel. No/little air usage at snorkel depth. T10: subs can stay at snorkel (periscope) depth for slow air-refresh and fast charge. But in no case should they be able to stay down "forever". Unless sunk, of course... -
Usually I was in the Dimwit Donkey, man that ship is my Nemesis. And guess what, they make me grind it again... for the Nevsky... I don't think we've met when I was in CV yet (but will some day happen). Or something other.... than that blasted Donkey... Hehehehehehhhhh...

You'll have to get them with bombs and torps then, which is a challenge. That damage the TT do to cruisers... it is a choice you make. The higher tier you get though, the less effective rockets are IMO, so at T10 yes, it is a must. Which might also be the reason why you see less CVs at higher tiers.

Well WW1 submarines could be for T4 though - those warships are also more useless... Anyway I could not see it start before T4, they'd just be a weaker version of the T6. But start at T6 is fine with me. Then T8 and T10. Maybe you should reserve the guided torpedoes for T8, and snorkels at T10. I'm certainly not expecting T1 with something like this: -

Yes that is indeed how they are balanced, but in a 12 vs 12 environment, and larger maps . This was indeed the effect and it got stale pretty fast. -

My guess is at T4 just like CV... But they will not announce that just yet, as they are still testing T6. When that is "satisfactory"they'll probably test more tiers. No doubt they'll be working on the subs and have the subs themselves ready. But then there's still the maps, all of them need underwater architecture. Could save them a lot of effort renaming Ocean to "Mariana Trench" - @MrConway -

Yesterday in Ranked did >100k and killed 4, we still lost... CV in any hands is broken, just in good hands it is OP as well. Same as Smolensk: in non-capable hands it is just annoying and still crap. (I am starting to lerarn that one, too.... LOL). So far I learned Ark Royal, Ryujo starting... mucking around a bit at T8, too. I'm mainly a weekend player and I'm old and slow. But I'll gitgud, someday. Better watch out, better not try...

Not bad though in a slow fat T7 BB. Well I usually do, too. I did help him a bit as well by spotting, and smacking whatever was threathening our DDs. Next game I got T9 in Ark Royal... -

My fail-division met @MrWastee and his divvy, and he carried us to glory. In fact he did it so well I couldn't get any kills. Still beat the other CV on XP LOL. -

Did that... I know: turtleback armour. But the problem was "1 shell hit". Rest of them all missed... But shoot the (much much narrower) rear... and then hit six, LOL. I see some people complaining why do people shoot HE at broadsiding BBs, well, this is why? -
This could be the fact indeed, but generally, higher caliber AP will do more damage. Well do not cheer too hard yet - they have nerfed the damage, but improved pen... So the end result of that is unclear. It might be getting even worse. AP-hit with no pen... vs nerfed AP-hit but full pen... True. +1 to them for at least reacting. We will see if it gets better or gets worse.

I don;lt know, since I donlt have it (many should count themselves lucky I guess....). But on the IJN CVs, when you try to adjust aim, the reticule widens quite a bit. Since I can only "reliably" get one citadel-hit per pass.... that means if the ship moves too much, all bombs will probably miss. Might of course also be I am totally sucking.... BTW best method for killing Enterprise is this:

Shot a broadside Derpits at 12km with my North Carolina, he just ke[t broadsideng, 3 salvos: got 1k, 1.2k, and 0.8k. Shot it again when it was going away showing only the arse-end, hurray 10k...
