How you know when they are just good or cheat ?
BLUB__BLUB replied to GrazyC2's topic in General Discussion
You mean when he is not visible. But when I know he is there, I'll just aim for that spot. I also try to hit when they are only visible on minimap, and I am quite sure they are still there. Stationary unspotted Stalingrad... BLAP! -

Pink windmill, does it have torpedoes? -
This, really. If you have ships that are allowed they should be "usable". Except if you are crap, or if they are some sort of meme-ship (and intended to be that). If CB is T10, any ship (that you are good with) should be an OK choice, really. Then again... this also goes for CVs.

Rather meh. I have done such stuff, and I am not very good and I do not use hacks. I'll shoot if I know that DD is behind that island (usually because I was going reloooaaaaddreload reeeeeload damn damn guns), amnd I as a little bit too late because that DD went behind that island before my guns reloaded. Sometimes you get a hit. Sometimes you just get really really lucky. And after that (because you are now spotted...) you get blapped by his teammate in the BB. -
But which one of the two? Probably both then.
-
Well the funny (?) thing is it didn't bother me much. Does that mean I am just really really dumb or did I actually do some GitGud?
-
There is ways to do it. Like if you are in a DD, turn off AA and mostly a CV discovers you too late. Then he has to return (and drop a fighter to keep you spotted, of which he has limited ones) and re-aim. If he has rockets you run into him to shorten his aiming time. That lessens the damage although the better the CV player, the less it will work. For example a half-wit like me sometimes gets tricked (in some CVs) but somebody like @El2aZeR in Enterprise well nope. And usually they don't trick me either or just half, or I will just come back to kill them later anyway. Of course they do. Just like I wanna give the middle finger to a BB when I am in a cruiser. If I am smart and he is stupid I might even burn down that Yamato in my Chapayev. Hoever the difference is even if you are smart and the CV player is very stupid t you can't burn him down. Best you can do is deny damage as the only way to burn him down is to find the CV - but not just the planes. That data IS available, well sort of. And yes unicums can do 70-80% WR and mega damage in any ship. But the thing is, you cannot actually damage the CV, just something like "cripple his turrets temporarily".
-
Well it does, half of the CV pp;layers is a total XXXX and your "AA build" will kill 90% of their planes. And then they can take two options, they go somewhere else or lose all their planes. But it will not stop any decent player and a good or unicum player will just laugh.

Can we have a way to tell if a ship has radar before we die?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Thracen's topic in General Discussion
If you have 7.5k battles and still are a seal in T8, you NEED to get clubbed... or you just like it. -
Yes, because the cruisers that the DD would not spot (even if behind a mountain) can't see the DD when CV is spotting. As such, being spotted from the moon is an advantage (yes Stalingrad approves indeed). Rest of the bunch need to use minimap. Of course "spotting range reduced" as in when there is a "storm" going on would also be an option. But no doubt that would also give some advantage and others not. So, quid pro quo? Being spotted from the moon is then some kind of advantage.
-
Actually, what he is saying is CVs were reduced to "just use for spotting" in CB. If they tried anything it killed off planes and therefore reduced the spotting, so they didn't try anything. Yeah much fun that was, CV just needed to fly around and let the team do the whacking. Guess why I didn't do much CB after the first few games... In CB... well if you have 3 Stalins and 3 Venezias the team will do the job for you. It is like playing with max detectability/constant radar all the time. Wouldn't matter if Stalin didn't have radar. I think this CB you take a CV and 6 DDs. Or 6 Atlantas. The other CV can never kill them fast enough. They're still broken AF though. WG changed the bottle and mixed a different kind of poison to fill it. Personally I like the bottle much more, but I hope they change the rockets to anti-sub-stuff, somehow. In CB, less ships so less to keep spotted, and smaller maps. Damage is balanced vs 12 . Do the math. But hey, have a look at current Clan Brawls, ROFL, what were they thinking drinking. The spotting is easy to fix - just have the CV-spotting reduced to "vice versa". For example, if the DD would spot a cruiser, then that cruiser can see the DD if he gets spotted by CV. So, a cruiser that has 10km detection range will see the DD if he is 9.9 away when the CV spots that DD. I'm kinda surprised they didn't already implement that solution.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Well that is the thing. I do not expect that anymore. Because... ... yes, because of this, indeed. Yes, but that is also what I expect from higher tiers. It is not that the players are any better. Just the ships are more powerful. Same as letting a kid play with chainsaws, you get the results you expect. Hah. Tonight my divmate went "I just got 10 plane kills". We were in a T10 game, playing T8. Guess what he was attacked by a Kaga, he came straight in at his Tallinn cruiser... never hit him. Next attack my mate killed 25 planes. End of the game he had more than 90 plane kills. Meanwhile I was playing CV too, that guy ended # 8 on teamlist (still... a miracle...) and I ended #4. It is the reason why I never play T8 or higher without teammates. Well, usually. Sometimes I have to grind crap like pastacruisers and Dimwitty Donkey. Uhh... -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Well yes sometimes they do. Did you try weekends? Oh and when you take a T6 and get uptiered to T8, delicious... -
I'll disagree and say you are...ehhh... hmmm... "rather good" in it, how much better you wanna be? The feeling of "could have done more" sounds familiar though. But it is hindsight 20/20. As in: I was sure those two T8 cruisers with radar could have handled that DD... but well, turns out they didn't. Guaranteed though we hen you go out to help them you'll leave empty handed, because THEN suddenly they kill him before you even get there. In most ships you have > 60% or better, almost unicum for a large part - compare that to me who is mostly-average-weekend player. My average WR is 2% over the server average for Ark Royal and that's while playing mostly weekends. No flags used, usually (I save them for CB). As such I know that I am a bit above the average, and it shows as my position in team-score in the end is mostly (usually) higher (and more XP) than the red CV. BTW How did you get 34k games? I thought I was playing much... hot damn! But I'm sure you'll know what I mean with "weekend", as I just read your experiences playing your Orkan today. It sounds very very familiar. I have another 27k battles to go before I reach your number, maybe I'll learn a bit better (probably not but at least I can try).
-
WuTTT no one plays them... 544 games in Ark Royal and counting.
-
54.7% average, yes it is pretty low (still 2% over the server average). Great damage though... Also it is the CV I learned on "how to CV", really. They warned me it would require lotsa GitGud, and yes it did. Mind I'm not unicum at all, just "savvy" or as I say "good enough" which means I'll out-do the average ones. Eh, should do too, as I have the second-most battles in it of the whole server... ARE YOU EXPERIENCED? NOTE: Solo WR 48%. Which shows what is probably to be the average WR when you play solo in weekends. I cannot carry these potatoes in any way whatsoever. Doesn't matter if I kill all the red DDs. Doesn't matter if I get 5 kills and do >100k damage. With Ark Royal can't carry as it does DoT. If teams wanna spuddyspud to death, they do. Damage can be anywhere from 35k (very short game) upto >100k. In a normal 15-20min game I'll do 80K or more. But doesn't mean we win. In fact: games where the team slowly screws it up are the best and will get >> 100k. Also that is because whenever I am solo or the server is full of reeeeeeetatoes I take the Ark... at least it is good for a laugh. With my DD-divmate WR goes to 58.5%. Add another divvy and it goes to 67%. Note that my damage falls, this is because I help them and am less selfish. I think Ark Royal is the best CV for teamwork, it is not at all like Ryujo. With Ryujo I can say THAT one needs to die else we lose, and kill him. With Ark Royal I can do lots of damage to THAT one, but that's it if he is smart.

As is now, yes. That is mainly because the subs can abuse the 5.9-6.1 meter dive mechanics. I have no doubt WG will fix that. Before all sub drives found out, I have shot many with Queen Elizabeth. And the other thing is the "forever submerged" thing, which will probably be fixed as well. If subs have to surface to replenish air, a BB will have the chance to shoot them. As is now, they abuse that 5.9-6.1 mechanic to keep the BB spotted and shoot him. Plus they use the "replenish at 1/4 speed". Scout indeed. And then your team will shoot them. Also, you can drop in some torps. If you do that they get "thinned out", also you farm some damage. They might decide to split up, and then it is your turn. Ships that get flooding wil lag behind, too. There is no coinflip. Just do NOT get close. Your planes are MUCH faster, which means YOU decide how/when to attack. And yes indeed they can make you useless. Like a BB bowtanking can make other ships useless. But that BB will still take SOME damage, and so will that AA-blob, if you know how (see above). Forming an AA-blob, like bowtanking, is counterplay, and well done if they keep it up. If you do it right (spot, throw torps, try break them up) you will succeed. Like that bowtanking BB, which needs focussing down with HE-spam.

New line to be announced this week
BLUB__BLUB replied to Miscommunication_dept's topic in General Discussion
Italian cruiser line split. After spaghetti throwers we now also get macaroni launchers. -
Eh well, our only chance is subs, maybe we can get WG to make it optional changing the rockets for depth charges.

I never manage to save one, then again I do not try. I just mess around and kill as much stuff as I can (rank 5 now). ROFL. Most weird game I had was I killed 4, my DD teammate killed 2. I did a bit over 100k in Kaga, and my teammate ended 1st - dunno how he did that. But we still lost. Damn gluesnorters. -

BLUB__BLUB replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
He might have done you a favour. I heard clanmates say they enjoyed ranked, as randoms were terrible. Then I suggested that might be why so many people are playing crap in ranked. They do not want to rank out, so they can enjoy it as long as possible. -
Well recently I grinded the Venezia... guess how that went in weekends... My mate has decided "WTF NOOOOO" on those. ...and now WG makes me grind that Donkey again, too. ...and the average is ~50%. I'll recover... well.... ehh... yes will. Check the ships that I actually play, and you'll see (Hint: T6/7 fat BBs, some light cruisers and CVs about 33% each). I still have a lot to grind, some ships I do not like and I guess they hate me too.
-
You become CEO of WG for a day - what do you do?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Gvozdika's topic in General Discussion
That too. Gib Yorkie to Barnehhh. @CptBarney -
There's ways to avoid the CV, also I helped him a bit... but he was just nowhere the CV was looking for him. But the amount he is used to having a CV around has influenced how he plays such a way he's not bothered much. It's not like he has a magic touch that allows him to "just dodge" all CV spotting and ordinance. This is the usual sort of result we get though. We work together pretty good... should, as he is my son (LOL). Solo we are kinda maybe "savvy". We're just above the average, we can maintain a WR >50% playing weekends (OK not in Donkey...). Usually we are in top 3, depending on what CV I have no kills at all sometimes (he takes them all). Just have a look at my stats, check "solo" and "div-2". Then check his and draw the conclusions. I play more than he does (and you'll find me in a CV, a fat slow BB or a light cruiser...), but usually when he is playing we are together. If you check "div-3" that is usually somebody from our clan. Usually an average like us (the best ones do not like CV or lower tiers). here's something we did recently... yes we need to carry harder. Oh and 2019... (yes faildivving is way of life)
