Yes possibly. The thing is they seem to drop in a looooong line. Same as those torps, you'll have a hard time hitting them all on smaller targets - just because the target is too small to take all the "delivery". Example: Even if perfectly straight/broadside, first bomb hits the nose, last one will miss because target too short. Like Audacious/Implacable, the HE-bombs have too long "traject" to all hit a cruiser, for example. 25% miss guaranteed. Correct. Even if you do not see him, you can "guesstimate" where he will pop up. Also, your teammates might spot him... the new reticule has saved more Dds that that "concelament trick". Everything can be calculated with experience. I even hit fast French DDs with torpedoes... Well there is such a thing as being "unpredictable". That may result in 500-1500 damage per shot. But that is more due to the reticule and RNG IMO than to anything else. Maybe it will be crap compared to a different CV. We'll see. I don't think so though. Looks more like it will have some unexpected troll-benefits. Like how about torping a blob of ships, they blob up because then they have shared AA. Daaaaamnnn... how many ships can you hit in one spread there.
-
Well, depends. I'd say it's more balanced, as far as CVs go. The slow speed means ships get more response-time (...just dodge). Also the FLAK (it's still avoidable) and the continuous AA (if you need to get that close) have more time/chance to do their work. Wheer I get 4 FLAK bursts to avoid in ryujo, I get ~6 in Ark Royal. I need to swerve to avoid those, which takes time. Also that's 50% more chance to screw it up... after (or while doing) that, you still need to aim, and that also is slower. Furthermore you cannot return that fast with a new load. Unless you take the actual CV closer, which is a risk in itself. Ark Royal is by far my favourite CV. It is sort of a challenge, but you can do more damage. Because with Ark Royal, those slow planes come with 3 torps instead of two. And the HE-bombers drop a sh...load these are really carpet-bombers. You will need some GitGud and pay sheep to RNGesus though. Balanced though... ahem. Still spots far far more than is reasonable. And it puts out a LOT of damage, if you are a bit lucky. Also it is the CV that you can best wreck DDs with. DD in smoke? No problem, carpet-bomb the smoke... You seem to do well in some ships, probably you are a bit like me. I either do well or I suck. So, you mean the play is sort of too simple, but you can't pull it off. I can't play DDs because they give me a headache. Seems you do better there. Mechanics yes. And then comes how you'd use them most tactically. CVs taught me a lot about the tactics. Sure you can make 200 damage. But the thing is, harvesting taters is different from playing for the win.
-
Same as on Ark Royal. You have large squads and because of that it is harder to find openings in the flak. And they are slow, so you spend more time approaching, you get a few more blaps of flak, too.
-
You shouldn't call them potato players then, maybe call CV-players "masters of adaptation". Well, maybe Ithink that because you complain a lot. Well, you kinda admitted you do not understand CV and don't WANT TO understand them... so... You are right, a game should be fun. But the game is about sinking the reds, the more/faster they sink the more fun I have. Of course you want some measure of fairness, as clubbing seals with a jackhammer gets kinda lame. Then again, if they have a jackhammer as welll that is also some sort of competition... No worry, I may play CVs but I am not a spellingnazi...

Flak Balance - Östergötland, Haland, Minotauer
BLUB__BLUB replied to _Ghostship_'s topic in General Discussion
Man I sink Hallands in all my T8 CVs. No matter which one. Just depends if they are worth it. And @El2aZeR is right, Öland is meh. Östergötland as well. I faildiv a T6 CV into T9 and still smack them. Unless I screw it up. But I'm not THAT good, just a bit savvy. The really good guys won't make that mistake. -
So, gameplay is bad... mmmkay.... agree with that... and indeed getting worse by the week. Then you call that gamemechanics for braindeads even elude you so much you'd be a liability to your team... mmmmkay... And that's why you absolutely hate CVs and say they are braindead and won't play them nor play against them... mmmkay. Sorry mate but to me that just sounds like you are not really performing well, and trying to blame everything that you yourself can't even manage to do. Just for the record, this game is about killing and griefing the other side. That's supposed to be fun. You're kinda weird really. Yup seems the ultimate club to swat at Balanzgrad, Venezia and Kremlin. Seems to me like the ideal CB griefing tool. Ah don't forget Smolly it will be good for that as well. Actually I wanted Balanzgrad but this seems even more toxic. Pfffrrt. We'll remember next time to take a screenie. Would you settle for a Silliwangi in a T10 CV game?

Not really, maybe it should come through but have a fat chance to miss? We used to have some "sight destabilisation" thingy using DEF AA. Bring it back. I have only lost LOTS o0f planes when flying directly at an unspotted Halland. I think you didn't have the best position, as he was able to strike you. When I spot Halland "too late" I cannot strike him anymore, I am already past that point when I discover him. Yes. I always send +1 if a DD "collects my pelt". However I think it's about time that "DD concealment buff" stops, because the only thing missing is they get turned into submarines when planes are approaching. I'm getting that of course, the only other consideration is Stalingrad. 6K strikes, from what? I have done 6K... but usually that means a real good (lucky, too) shot on a broadside DD. Nowadays you hardly get a 6K shot at a DD, unless like above. More like 2K. How many times did he come back? Spotting sucks. It is not even in the advantage of the CV. No "spotting damage", and everybody tries to "secure" your kill. Can;t count the times that my torpedoes were going in for the final blow, nd then he gets "kill secured" by shells (well, shells are faster). I say spotting by planes should be like spotting in a cyclone. In a cyclone it is 8km, maybe that is why WG wants to try that in Clan Battle? Only ships at certain distance (8km? 5km?) from the spotted object can see it, rest gets minimap. To those saying: "yeah but it helps when you are attacked by a DD", well no. Nobody cares. That is reason why I keep some "fighters". To be able to defend myself...

IS there a way to remove or reduce stutters?
BLUB__BLUB replied to 15JG52Robi's topic in General Discussion
Most likely. I think there is a dead server hamster somewhere. -
The challenge is to get your CV parked behind a rock in the edge, and then try to survive.... Else it is just a game of whack-a-mole.
-
Well except "that's not really a DD".

Why they don't count teammate trajectory when making me pink?

Well, get some battles in then in T6. We'll see what you think when you meet T8 DDs. CV still OP? Broken, yes. But OP? I agree about T4 though. That is just insane, no matter how many battles or experience you have. Hahah yes. I play mainly T6-8 myself, due to T9 and T10 being... well... you know. But how many will be in other classes? I meet some forumites in T8. Rarely in T6 and 7. Well, concealment-vs-planes has now risen to ridiculous levels. Today about 7 games, only 1 where DDs didn't go after my CV. Only 3 games that they got me though (and 2 games, they did not live...). I think WG is going the wrong way with this. DDs not doing their jobs, they are like little kids of sorts, now they have got something and then they think they know it all - that kind. And of course now they'll complain again that CVs always kill them. Yeah right. Sure when they attack my CV, I wil kill them. But I'll have to gamble where I put my visor, as I cannot spot them in time. What more do they want? Everybody Halland AA? If they are stupid and take lots of risk I'll get them anyway. If they are better than me, I can't get them as it is. Any more DD mollycoddling and I'm not going after them anymore. It's just not worth it. Let the cruisers and other DDs do it. I'm not gonna search for that needle in a haystack, only to get nothing because other ships will take the HP off him. "CV please spot DD". Yeah send me beer or money and I'll consider it. Don't be surprised. You haven't got that many games in randoms. It is really really bad. 100K+ in T6 will not suffice to drag a win. You'll need two teammates that do the same, and even then... 3x 100-150k, is sort of what is needed in T6. Higher tiers... well... bleh. Stale and just chance if you win or not. I think even a division of 3 unicums can't save those games, and I certainly can't.
-
Checked, because you asked, and yes. Must agree. CVs seem to be no good for you. However you seem to like a few ships, and do good in those. But mostly you play Co-op.... Other ships you probably think are meh. But indeed I'd say you hardly touched CV at all. I'd ask whatever "skilled" DD players do you meet in those T4 CVs? Most CV you play is in co-op. I agree a bit though - players that can't take on cruiser/BB AA, they get stuck pestering DDs. Sorry mate, you do have 4 Tier 6 Cvs - but in randoms, 1 game in the first, 4 games the other. The rest are T4 CVs... well yeah. I dunno how much WG drank when buffing those. I doubt though if your CV ever met a skilled DD player. Nevertheless doesn't mean your opinion doesn't count. I agree that CVs are the plague for DDs. However... there's a lot of, well, "slightly less talented" DD players out there as well. If you want to see an experienced, good DD player, get @Bear__Necessities and ask him to clubber two T8 CVs with his T6DD. I have met some good DD players. Damn hard to kill, if I even managed to get them. Usually I didn't. I think th eproblem is as much CVs being broken as DDs being too easy to grind to a high tier. Because I just see more and more total and utter numbskulls playing those little things.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
BLUB__BLUB replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Yeah I have it too. I suspect though that this time a certain forumite spotted me and told his div to go get me LOL. Best game I had then in a while too, most are kinda more like --> Too bad though they already finished me off, would have liked to help. -

Well he needed to die, it was a matter of who got him first, LOL. In Kaga (that was me...) I just throw lots of torps, you never run out if you're a bit decent with CVs. It also has the same amount of bombs, but you depend on RNG for fires - at least torps you get some Alpha damage in. And as everybody was shooting HE... I was almost cheering when you started dragging that bunch of $@#^@#@# by the neck to victory. Al my divmates gave you a +1. Mega-carry there! (it's not often that, when divving 3-up and I am in CV, we can't drag the whole team to a win, see below, so we really did need you there!!). -
I guess we do not agree then, but that's fine. We do agree on the fact that CVs are broken AF though. I find most of them pretty boring. Some of them I find challenging, but in a different way. The main things are the spotting and the (lacking of) counter-measures.
-
Well, then you'd deny them even the fun of getting a pelt, eh? Current iteration is fixable, just like the RTS one was. There have been many many ideas from GOOD and EXPERIENCED players. But well...

Shouldn't that be "LOOKING REARWARD" whenever a Kitakami has entered a game? -
Correct, CVs could have been done a whole lot better. They just have too much unwanted side-effects. The one I enjoy most (well, obviously...) is Ark Royal. It is slow AF but that's the challenge really. See if you can outdamage the other CV (which is usually something else).

Nooooodude... you fired torpedoes from the back, and you thought that nobody had the right to intrude on your precious wall of skill. Remember: once the torpedo has left the tube, it is no longer your (or anyones) friend. Or soon you'll be just playing co-op... The "move beeeatch get outta the way" attitude doesn't work here. You'll go pink... and worse. -
Yeah, that would indeed be a wild guess. I play Dds, too - a bit, and totally potato. Never get killed by CV though. And a while ago I got a Silliwangi from a container. Thats a DD with DW torps, zilch AA, and puny guns (and T8, while I only have T6 DDs...).. I only have a few games in it... yet... IMO there's a lot of gluesniffer DDs around, and they all go Reeee Reee REEEEE. True CVs are broken AF, but then again, potatoes float, eh?
