    Just when we were beginning to believe they wanted some kind of balance... Well of course I'll need to have it, eh. (I rarely play T10 though so it is just for CB, LOL, to crap on Russian Bias cruisers and BBs).

    It still is high, but different. tater CV players do not get an attack in because they fly into (self-controlled...) FLAK. And if they survive the FLAK, now they have to aim... autodrop did it for them, in RTS. They aren't asking for that (besides a few, and they'll hate whatever threathens their favourite class anyway). They just want some MEANINGFUL kind of airplane-deterrent other than RNG-plane-driven-based crap. Do not forget the crappy interface.

    Some are like that yes. The majority though realizes that if a CV attacks t you WILL sustain damage. That is not the problem,. The problem is that AA works such, good players have NO PROBLEM at all, while lesser players GET NONE IN at all. And yes first strike usually gets through - it is the manner HOW it gets through that annoys people. And nobody likes the spotting. Not even CV players. Well, I fail to do so as well. The only point I see him making is that, as a CV player, he agrees T4Cvs are awful. Also, he states it is bad for the game and scares away newbies. In the end he offers some sort of solution (T5-6-7-8-9-10 and no more T4). Must say I agree but I don't see any novelties. Some do. If we take the video, he states this is the result of being clubbed to death without any response in T4. However, what most people say is that the workings of AA sux, and the continuous spotting sux as well. But hey... now we have Roosevelt... LOL... That is true, but now gather this: - Yes you can mitigate damage by swerving, for instance turning nose-in. - But the SPOTTING means that everyone-and-his-mum now can shoot at your turned broadside. Yes you can. I miss more than half the stuff that I drop on whatever ship. Because they actually move, most of the time. However you CANNOT avoid the second attack, which is a whole lot faster on a CV - and he can ADJUST his planes faster than a surface vessel. So yes you can mitigate damage from (for example) german rockets. But you'll have a hard time avoiding the second strike. Then again - the damage done by Cv torpedoes is a whole lot less than damage from DD torpedoes (and DDs usually have a lot more toeprdoes). EH well, and then WG gave us Roosevelt...

    Actually he says "they are ONLY balanced by average damage, it SEEMS a likewise tier BB will do better". He doesn't say higher tier CVs are less broken. Just hat in higher tiers you can't club without losing any plane at all. And in fact you cannot. Why do you think there are less CVs in higher tiers. As AA (OK, laughable, as the CV sort-of-controls this) gets "better", some CVs get outplayed by the (self-steered...) AA. So much that they bleed credits on any CV above T6... I reckon this is what he means. He is just showing that T4 CV are baaaaadddd. Well, we knew that already, eh.

    Those will be your own choices, and maybe t you are correct. They have FF-d stuff up before. Bad track record... Maybe it f they FF it up like CVs (2 years and still "going strong") I'll be out as well. We'll see. To me though it looks like they are listening - and yes indeed the brass has decided we'll get subs, one way or another. Look at @Inappropriate_noob obviously there is a market for them. No market = no sale = no game. We'll ALL be out.

    Well there is a certain amount of it... You will not have a choice, they'll implement them in randoms, and probably later also in Clan Battles and everything. So, better help them making adjustments and point out where they have gone wrong. They DID learn though, the testing is much better than when they tested CVs. And the DID respond to the comments, and changed (MOST!) stuff accordingly. If it is sufficient, remains to be seen. But: - they adjusted the 5.9-6.1m "cheese"; - they found some defence for BBs and CA (ASW planes incoming); - they fixed the non-detectability by BBs and such (pings); - fixed the homing torps that even worked behind islands... - etc. Mind these are JUST the mechanics - they could still screw up balancing. As in, two torps blowing up a complete BB. That, I agree. Sometimes (well... some... ) WG is completely nuts.

    I had ~20 attempts at me so far, only two of them successfull. One "sort of". One was because my taterteammate blocked my CV in his Currywurst... ...actually it might have been the autopilot having a brainfart and not his fault. The other one was successfull because indeed autopilot went front/back/front/back... One was sort of, I lost 75%HP because I was flying the planes (punishing them) and forgot to stop the CV... I killed the two BBs, then a bit later spotted the CV and my DD divmate killed that one...

    Indeed, such things. Spotting is a feature. Same as I have been saying, CVs should spot for all: just ~8km around the plane, rest gets minimap. Team will know the ships are there but you can't shoot them because of spotting data from CV/sub, unless you are close enough to get hurt yourself. Sub at >10m (unspotted and at no risk) should not be able to do anything except spot for himself and reposition. Unless there is a mechanic that renders it not unvulnerable, like hydro & depth charges. Which would be comparable to DD getting radared. But DD can run, twist and hide behind mountain. So maybe the sub then could dive until he reaches depth "beyond reach".

    This is true in many ways. Yes the "different layer" is a thing. If WG do not manage to have them interact in a meaningful way, it's gonna be crap. The automation is also crap. Automation rarely gives any satisfaction, or sense of accomplishment. But if they manage to keep those factors limited and/or connect through manual action, they're good. I think subs will be OK if they get their mechanics right in the first place. Somehow they want to keep their "steering torpedoes". Which is more automation vs player, which is BAD. All things that require no skill and cannot be countered, are BAD. Diving down >10m, going unspotted and still being able to "not retreat" is bad. Not saying subs shouldn't be able to go unspotted - however if they do, their actions should be limited, like other ships. I can. But I can indeed also see it turn into a crapfest. However it is certain we'll get them anyway no matter what happens. And it seems this time they know. Might as well try to assist them getting it right. Yes true. I play other ships as well, besides CV. I always give them a +1 if they make it and kill the CV. Even if it is me... Also I think WG should make a special trophy for killig the CV --> PELT award, or something. Bonus 50 steel?

    Well, unicums can make ANYTHING work and they'll find the exploits. But us normal taters also need a go, as we are the majority. Yes they do. I hope WG does "special planes" for every nation, maybe even on tier: USA: PBY Catalina, Martin Mariner; Brits: Supermarine Walrus, Short Sunderland; Germany: FW Condor/HE 111/JU-52/BV&V-138 (depending on tier); Russians: Beriev, Be-2, Be4, there's so many of them I cannot keep them apart... IJN: H6K, H8K (Emily)... lots there as well. Man if they really want to go to town they could even make separate (smaller) planes for cruisers. Like, if you are in a Warspite you get a big fat Sunderland, if you are in Leander you get 3 Swordfish. They will be a separate battle-mode on the general server, like before. You bet it will. And IMO they should, let's just try to help them as much as we can. They DID learn form the CV Reework... at least they are now testing and actually adjusting. Most of the stuff that everyone wrote down has been "addressed". Let's see if it is enough. I consider it a bonus though that they realised one ff-d up class is more than enough.

    I bet they'll be in trouble once they get 3 cruisers/BBs dropping those... Also, happy WG decided on depth charges, else, the poor friendly DDs... Seen the rest of it too, now well EG, what do you think - subs just gonna be > 10m instead of 6. They can torp, ping and whatever down there. This is WRONG. They'll stay undetected/invulnerable forever. @MrConway do you want to test that or can you see it happening already...

    Probably the right choice. I do not have any of them, but what I see in games (and at the end score lists...) you took the best one. Let us know if it is, and if it is enjoyable. Might get there myself soon(-ish).

    Point-and-Click should do, like secondary guns. Oh wait that is to call in a plane. Hmmm. No stuff about CV getting depthcharges though. While planes were the main ASW thing, really. Looks to me they fixed a LOT of stuff, including the 6.1-5.9 m cheese: It will require more time to dive from the surface to a depth that protects against HE weapons: the depth at which the submarine is hit by rockets, bombs, and shells has been increased from 6 to 10 meters; Looks like CVs can just bomb/torp/rocket them upto 10 meters then?

    ...don't forget mountains, they are a baaaaadddd combo with WG autopilot. I am amazed I haven't managed to definitely beach a CV (yet). But we'd see lots of planes crashing into the scenery.

    More like, small gunboats or torpedo boats that work like "secondary guns". They swarm out and then they attack the nearest enemy. Like fleas.
  22. I know that, plenty times seen that even killing 5 ships and having >150k damage doesn't guarantee the win (I play weekends...). In fact once I had to kill 7 ships to drag the team to a victory, and it was nearly impossible. Also, sometimes you can influence so much, you kill noting but make stuff possible for your team. However, that is not the point - in any (T8, even T6...) CV 100K usually is easy. Not in the T8 German... just asking is that kinda normal.
  23. Yeah I thought that much, just whatever I do, 100K is hardly within reach. On the other T8 CVs 100K (in a normal game... well..) is easy. How come? I have enough planes left at the endgame, as you say plane-management is a thing. That's not the problem though.

    Yeah man, I have no life so he must have a twin that also has no life... I'll catch up with him though... Yes I enjoy it. I find it a challenge to do well in. Due to the slow planes. But I also enjoy games like chess... In fact I think it is one of the best "balanced" CVs. Ships have time to react, they usually avoid torps. It is slow, if you need to get back to a ship that used DCP after you set fire you usually can't. DDs can actually outrun your torps... or swerve to avoid rockets. The slow planes also mean you have to avoid zig-zag quite a lot of FLAK. More chance to screw it up. And while you are doing that, the ship can re-align or whatever. A challenge.

    What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

    Well, finally managed >100K in that Parseval, but it's still kinda crud IMO. See for yourself, the Implacable managed the same XP (and they lost...). In the end he ran to the channel and I had the same idea... whacked him. But I don't like the German CVs much so far. Actually I'd rather take Ark Royal to a T9 party.
