    They are. If you're not much good then you are basically limited to T6 max. Even there you need to be "reasonable" else you bleed credits like a leaking bucket. There is no way a tater player can keep up playing T8, unless he uses premium CVs and/or buys premium time. At T10 - just forget it.

  4. I do, when a clanmate/divvy asks me. Usually I would not, unless I have to grind something. As such you can now meet me grinding my way to Petro... <-- Yes it is that bad... But usually I do not, because the level of play is not better at all, it's just "blap harder".

    well.... Yeah you guessed it already. At that time I would preferably div up with a DD and a cruiser. T7 Hood (has DEF AA), a Sims and a Fiji.

    I think that had it when we had RTS, at least that is why I started grinding it. Then again what did I know... I already have a Mino for > a year and still havent finished grinding Wooster.
  7. Just met one certain forumite.... He was in an Öland, on my team, screaming for help and calling me N00b CV. He wanted "air cover" from my Audacious... while the enemy Hakuryu was trying to bomb him (with AP-bombs...) and he was almost behind the BBs... My divvie in the Mino saved him... to no avail as we lost anyway. I dunno what is worse really. Me playing CV, the other CV attacking an Ikea-DD ~3km from a Mino with AP-bombs (yes he lost the whole squad) or....

    Agreed that there were better choices. But well... just thinking... If you were that close you were a noob anyway, so was the trap really needed then? I mean... .... if you want to stick your foot in a bears A-hole and keep it there, does it really need glue as well...

    I suppose he can, but if that is how he makes a "living", then he will soon be financing WG by buying credits... Well, who cares - WG did. As they were supporting a class that nobody played. You are right though, current spotting is crap and the AA-version is also crap. Too bad since so many better ideas were offered. Well he didn't have to send up all planes at once... also unless the planes were spotted you couldn't tell either. And yes those tactics I used as well, they arte still viable, too. Except that damn FLAK now works crap, on a good CV player. Depends on what your favourite is. In BBs, those CVs were hell. They'd just remove you at will. But seems to me everybody forgot that. Well some nights I met teams in CB that kinda wrecked all the planes... teamwork works. Except the rest of my team then gets what they want. Rarely it all goes up sh...creek and those blobbing teams win. AA should be more variable. The user should have influence, too. Whoever thought that purely CV-controlled AA is gonna work? It is something like this, but reversed: Well they sort of are doing that already eh. Dammit when I get that FDR might just make me go UUAAARRRGGHHH. I mean, what the hell. I like sealclubbing just like the next sadist but doing it with a TANK is kinda too much.

    EH well, but there was no way knowing what "loadout" he had. Also, you'd not know how fast he would be back. He might have the other squad near, or not. Many times I used DEF AA on Hood, and used it again when he came back. THAT is something I fully agree on. Current DEF AA sucks as well.

    There's a whole lot to be said against that, though some of it is true. Like, currently CVs do not get deplaned but if you run down on 3 planes per squad there's F-all a CV can do. Bad CV players were always and issue... if you got one and the reds didn't. Same now, but much worse then. If you got a bad one and they got a good one... which is less of a problem now. Well at the lower tiers you had automated drops... there wasn't much difference between a good and a bad player in that way. Higher tiers the bad players stayed away, which is why you got less CVs.

    True. Also even if the reds a had a potater, he'd always manage to do some sinking before your CV finished him off. Well yes but if the reds had a good one, he'd send in some "waste" planes and trick the DEF AA. After that you were toast. Unless you were indeed AND lucky that there was an escape-hole, AND good enough to use it.

    The most annoying was when the red CV-player was better. Because the best hope you actually had was your own CV-player saving you. If he wasn't that good, well you basically were CV food. Because the red CV would deplane or kill yours, and then he could just go ahead.

    Don't worry I will not ask how you know... But the RTS CVs were poisonous as well. And also OP and broken. There is no reason that they went except WG wanted to have the more "PS4" looks. Same as the RTS could have been made more bearable, current one can as well. But they just do not want to. Instead they invent stuff like Enty, MvR and FDR. I missed out on Enty though...

    Depends on what you like more. Nagato = BB, York = cruiser. York is better IMO (when I see a Nagato I always shoot that one first...).

    I've even done it, in T6, in Ark Royal, but shooting at cruiser and I rammed the red CV. Meanwhile I torped a DD too (hit one torp, no kill). Didn't kill the cruiser (Graf Spee), but almost, teammate finished him off. Another CB T6 game, or DD rammed the red CV. Yes this game is TROLLLL....

    I think best would be if they changed CV-spotting to "cyclone-effect". That is, CV spots 8km, and the rest of the team that is outside ~8-14 km gets minimap only. Radar spam is bad enough. What happens now is you get CV(2 choices... rest sort of sucks) and a load of Russian Bias (Petro/Stalin/Kremlin preferred). The clans that cannot bring that just have a hard time. Then again... used to be similar, just DM/Moskva. And if you didn't have those you were screwed as well. I wonder what WG is gonna "invent" for next meta-OP-broken-ship. Just wishing I knew so I can start the grind... c'mon WeeGee gimme a small hint...

    If they are no-lifers or not, well... fact is that experienced players are the ones that have more time. Doesn't mean they are very good, but usually they are better than the average "hobby player wasting time". The question is, how does that affect your OWN winrate. In my case, not much since I am an average pleb, usually. It does however affect my damage output, one way or the other. Usually I get much much shorter games - meaning I'll not reach the full damage that can be done in 20 minutes.

    Not really, but it stil was kinda funny. No "scientific data". But it is the thing that usually happens. I usually div up. What happens is, we get teams that we cannot save - like, we have two caps, and more ships. Enemy is hiding behind some island near their one cap. Our team starts to go there one by one... guess how that ends. The other end is like, our team takes 3 caps, shoots a few ships, rest of the reds run... ends in zero points for them. This also happens vice-versa. There's a few variants to that... but usually the games go in a similar way. I'm not such a good player that I can do anything to carry/prevent it. Basically it is the same as holidays. I'm usually at work so not much time to play weekdays, if I have time I'll do CB. But the difference is quite visible, at least to me. And yes it feels like that "undead army of single-handed sailors waiting to be raised from the pits every Friday evening". Note: THIS I do not win any more or less either (depends usually on what ship I am playing and if I am any good with it). But due to the much shorter games, the running away and all that - PR and damage (which is a large part of PR) suffers in weekends.
