  1. Saw @lup3s with a few SCRUBS in Clan Brawls, we lost though.

I'd remove sp[otting in this way: - planes on their way to a target fly above cloud and do not spot; - attacking planes spot but only to a limited range, rest gets minimap.

T1: T2: T3: T4: It always is. But thinking that smoking up will help you if you still stay in place... well... That is how I get most of them anyway, if I fly in when they are in the open, or something, I usually lose so many planes it's not worth it. I can still get them, but well, no.

Well it is easy to strike a Mino, since they always wait to deploy smoke - and if they sit still and smoke, it is not that hard to find out where they are. I'm always amazed how people think, they sit still, get spotted by CV, then just use smoke... and keep sitting where they were. I think it is this: Where in other ships the "lock-on reticule" helps with aim, and gets thrown off when you smoke up... CVs do not have this "handy helper". So, no effect... As for attacking a Mino in the first place... yes it can be done. Usually they sit behind mountains and such. They have good AA (well... as good as it gets) but if you manage to approach "unspotted" the AA does nothing. So you pop up 3km from the Mino, drop torps (into his sudden smoke) and get out quickly. However you can't do stuff like that with AP-rockets from German Cvs as their aim goes waaayyyyyy off. Unless Russian. Mino has improved pen angles though. You forgot Smolly. Add hydro, too.

Ah, and not using chat = positive karma. The blessings of being chatbanned? Could be, I am the same age. I look a lot less like Santa though. Must say I have a similar tendency to FF stuff up.

Oh sometimes I have 50, but usually doesn't last long. The hate is stronger than the love, usually. Never got chatbanned though. Maybe I should improve the salt?

If you play well, you may not get upvotes from your own team. But you'll sure get some downvotes from the reds. Enjoy the salt...

I'm not. I play 30%BB, 30% CA, 30% CV and the rest DD. And I'm as potato as they come, play weekends too.

Zero karma is what you get anyway if you play the game. Plenty numbskulls reporting you for not doing what they want you to do. As in, DD go cap! yeah right in front of 2 radar-cruisers and no assistance.

Euuhh... oh wait. Neptune have no HE... LOL. Anyway it was spamming something, like lotsa dakka dakka. i wasn't the subject of the spam so what it was, main thing is it had smoke. I remember it wasn't a Smolly. Also didn't last long that is why I do not recall.. Most I ever got was +5. Lasted 3 games before back to zero karma. But I also play Smolensk....

Ah lucky you. I got two, a Halland and a Harugumo. They were torping our camper-BBs from behind an island (which the campers were hiding behind). They also had a HE-spam cruiser. Don't remember what one, I think Neptune. I managed to kill the cruiser, then the Harugumo. Almost Halland. Meanwhile my team tatered to death. Guess what, zero karma and got called mong and such. Duh.

I'd not call 60% unicum, I have it too in some CVs. And I'm not unicum by far, just a bit savvy. If you're > 70% then that starts to be unicum, 60% is just what chance you have to get team that are salvageable or not.

True, in the RTS there was at least one team happy.

yes you can do much more as you'll know, except there is such a thing as ROFLSTOMP-5-minutes (when you do 10k... LOL). In any "normal" game (say 15 min and reasonable "balance") I'll do about 100K but well, when do we get normal games nowadays. Usually in more than half of games either the reds die like flies, or my team does. Yes the great ones can do much much more. Is it OP, well I dunno, what I do know is they are BROKEN. OP ships are OP for everyone, not just unicums. But BROKEN ships can be ABUSED by unicums. I dunno what you'd call OP. For me, OP means it does huge damage without any effort and anyone can do it. Like, having a RPG in GTA5. Anything goes BOOM don't even have to hit it. That is what I call OP. CVs are sort of like that but not completely. However if you have a little bit of skill, they are very very abuseable. And that is what I'd call BROKEN. I have 59% solo in Ryujo, and in div >60... 55K average for me but I'm not really trying hard. So I am as potato as they come, really. The thing keeping average damage down is those ROFLSTOMPS. Unicums manage to turn some of them, I can't do it. I know a lot about the stuff but hey I am old and slow, even if I know HOW to do it doesn't mean that I can...

The thing is, if you aren;t above decent you'll struggle not to BLEED CREDITS at T8. Even if you have a premium CV. That is why you see mostly decent/good players in a T10 CV, and mostly same in T8 CV. T6 CV not so much, but they are still broken AF. And if a good player has them, they are very very OP. I have no problem taking a T6 in a fail-div and going T9. I'm not very good at all. SUre I can be if I really try. But I hardly do and mostly I have fun and support my mates. Which is not the most effective way of playing CV. Sure it DOES have an effect, look at my Shokaku stats (the one I use most in division). Average = 54%, with 3 -div > 80%. I'd say problems are fixable, at least a bit: - make spotting for ships > 8km away just minimap; - make AA more effective; - make "CV ammo" launched from further away, so ships have more time to avoid. --> for example torps can now be dropped so close, ships can't do anything. make the activation period/distance longer. So they have to be dropped from further away. But make it such that this will be in the most effective range for AA (AKA more range for AA).

well... ehh... here's a 7-kill game, and you probably think only Flamu goes through middle on Two Brothers map... Check my stats I'm no unicum by far. OK part of it is that I like fail-divving my T6 CVs to T9 and do weird stuff. Then again... quite sure I could get to unicum but why? This is a game. Has to be fun, too.

The problem there is that WG has put the planes as a kind of "sponge". The last plane gets damaged first, so the first one survives longest. That is also why the first strike always gets through. Now, basically you can attack anything - it is just a matter of how much sponge you will lose.

You actually do not need to. As Masterrr @El2aZeR has explained, such CV-pilots shut down themselves. In RTS you had to fight the other CV even if he was a tater, now the auto (SELF!) generated FLAK does it for you.
  19. BLUB__BLUB

    General CV related discussions.

Mate you are welcome to div up and take a T7, I'll take a T6 Cv and then you'll see what happens in a T9 game. Been doing it all evening having lots of fun. Should have taken some screenshots. And I'm not even that good... just a bit savvy. You can also screw them pretty good. Today I torped a Friesland almost to death at the start of a game. With Furious... EH but then I ff-d it up, well the autopilot did - he started going front/rear/front/rear and my bum got farmed by the Jutland. Should have paid more attention, but so much for CVs rule (got 80K though).
  20. BLUB__BLUB

    General CV related discussions.

That is not the point. The thing is, the OTHER CV may farm hard enough to cause this. You cannot prevent your team throwing... not even @El2aZeR can do that. Maybe if we could clone him though. You'll usually need longer than 3 minutes. This Halland, you knew where he was, and the flight times were very very short. But I have killed BBs in around 3 minutes... I bet guys like Bear can do that easily.
  21. BLUB__BLUB

    General CV related discussions.

The thing is, while you were busy killing him that stopped you from farming the rest. You brought some divvies and had a decent team, they at ;least kept up the scores. Otherwise, while you were killing that Halland - 3 minutes suffices usually to completely get wrecked. Happened to me lots of times I was fighting one or two of those nasty pelt-robbers, meanwhile my team just potaoed to the end. That's not really the point. Thing is, can he kill himself when he'd be in a Halland and in a CV at the same time. Eh. Well. I mean he goes out to get pelts. So, would he be able to outplay a likewise skilled player. See above. Obviously you make it a speciality to go for the CV when you are in a DD. Means less able CV-players aren't able to stop you. And less able DDs aren't able to get your CV. However you cannot have both, so which one is it?

Then check your replay. It took you time to find him as well. Yes 27 planes, and it didn't matter, that's true. Because you could still attack. Probably not but he doesn't deserve to either. Agree. But there's other CV-players except you. You were detected. I'd have gotten a shot in on you if I were in a BB on the reds. You controlled 95% of it, that 5% could have got to you though. Usually doesn't. Granted you'd have been unlucky if you got blapped.
  23. BLUB__BLUB

    General CV related discussions.

True, but you depend on teammates spotting Halland or being lucky/guess right. Else you'll usually overshoot. Hit two of them with torps. One killed. I'll use whatever I have available... What do you see as "most effective" anti DD" when playing German CV? Currently I mostly use "spot him and press F3", with some exceptions.
  24. BLUB__BLUB

    General CV related discussions.

He does have a point though. What we see here is a super-unicum CV-player having "the right CV" killing a dumbass Halland. I think we agree that a super-unicum DD-player woudn't survive either vs this player and that CV. But how long would it take if we have a super-unicum DD vs a potater-CV?
  25. BLUB__BLUB

    General CV related discussions.

I'm not talking about that Halland killing him, he'd never get him (unless very drunk autopilot). But that Halland was also spotting the CV, and if that Fletcher hadn't smoked him up... a miracle on its own BTW. THEN a red fat BB would have blapped Bear when spotted (I would have...). That he was turning away, made Bear broadside to others (DDs also have helpers...). If, for example, that would have been my divvy (in a Daring... as usual) and me in Thunderer somewhere out there...
