They are currently working on reworking the current sector AA system to make it more effective, rewarding and easier to use. If they succeed with that one, you will have something that you will be able to actively manage while not being taken out of battle. I suspect them adding a moveable sector that can cover precise angles, like a cone that moves around your ship, maybe even multiple which you will be able to move around real time. This would give the feeling of "aiming"in the general direction while keeping you engaged. If they ontop of that increase AA dps effectiveness and you actually shoot down planes it rewards you for your effort. I'm sure it will still not be braindead easy to use so you actually will have to work to get good with it.

You would have to rework the AA system for it to work. If we try your approach with the current system in place, human aim will always be inferior to AI since it's prediction and aim is mostly on point at the moment and that's also why it's easy for experienced CV players to dodge it. Human aim would be even easier to dodge and you would have to little amounts of time to actually calculate and aim correctly, shaking your camera around madly to follow the planes losing all sight of the rest of the battle for the duration of the manual aim.

@Excavatus So what could a realistic solution to such a problem look like?

I met a 90%+ player once in such a Division and he didn't even need it to really destroy me. His fighter micro was on another level and something i haven't seen anyone do that far in. Farazelleth i thought covered everything in his videos but nope, that player showed me that there is a bit more to it all. And now imagine that kind of CV god in an AA Division. The worst thing about it all? To get to the information on how to perform these secret techniques you had to really grind asking around every good CV player out there to maybe share the "secrets". I can understandnwhy some of them feel terrible about the rework for losing all that power that they hid from others to never get a chance of someone else reaching their level of play :)

That's because i have mainly been playing th t5 CV Zuiho. if you check m old t8 Enterprise and T7 Kaga stats i have been unicum in them before rework too. Weak argument. Also after CV rework my surface ship stats got better too. I was even superunicum level with them shortly before rework arrived

The support CV line! It will help i'm certain :D You dislike it all but it's somehow fun enough to open wallet to something you actually wouldn't support? No it's time that you actually say it. It's fun, you would pay to have more of that fun and the hate is blown out of proportion. Just do what you like and don't look at what others would like you to do. Just because people call your choice of ship unbalanced and OP doesn't mean it should invalidate you having fun with it. Getting Enterprise also is a really great idea especially in it's current state!
