Around 95% of CV players you meet in randoms are an absolute joke, easy to beat and put up no fight at all, playing against them in DDs is easy. Your friend can try to convince me otherwise if he so wishes. No one is saying CVs aren't broken but DDs certainly have options to make any CV player except for maybe 5 - 10 players on EU cry. Nothing to do with CVs power but simply with the incapability of the biggest part of the CV population.

For CVs you need to scale differently.

You need to predict flightpath of the enemy and drop them shortly before his squadron would reach the would be middle of the fighter patrol area. But you don't need to go out of your way to do this. Mostly do it if your flightpath is crossing. Otherwise just bomb and work the priority as usual. You aren't losing out on effectiveness compared to pre cpt rework Midway so you should be fine doing whatever. When there is an FDR...
