It seems that the update messed up aiming quite a bit
Yosha_AtaIante replied to Andrewbassg's topic in General Discussion
I dont know what your post tries to say but the last sentence... There is actually a theory i have after nearly 4k CV battles since rework I noticed something... I'm more or less certain that there is something that determines as you click to release your drop if you are going to hit or not no matter how perfect your drop was , how perfect the lead was or your target is doing. A few examples: *Divebombers on Midway can have the whole reticle cover the ship except for a tiny part of the reticle which also touches the ocean as the bombs are about to hit. What happens is in that tiny ocean space of the reticle half of the 6 bombs will hit exactly that spot while the rest hits the ship. Similiar if you drop a ship broadside that dodged. Usually out of 6 bombs one should at least hit the middle but way to often the bombs tend to land perfectly around the ship with none touching it as if to reward that player for trying to dodge. Now experienced Midway players know that bombs have a tendency to drop on the outside of the reticle away from the middle so to counteract this happening I tried dropping broadside ships only with the top half of the retile and lower half. But still the same phenomenon. All bombs often will land in the empty half. This happens so often and consistently that I can't call it "RNG" but purposeful. *Haku/Shoukaku torps: My stats in shoukaku are really good (3,2k PR, 80% WR) with around 600 battles+ I have dropped with those torps very often now and I had to drop many times with a half closed reticle meaning its more of a V shape instead of a = shape. Now yes, shoukaku can even if you drop with the "bad" V shape pair the torps as if you closed it perfectly sometimes. But other times it goes even out of bounds of the V shape nearly reaching 90° shapes! And I figured out when those happen and noticed its not RNG... it's to consistent: If the enemy I'm about to drop due to not attempting to dodge or changing speed is dropped by me with a half closed V shape reticle the torps ALWAYS drop like a = close to each other because no matter how big that spread those torps would have hit anyway! # If however the enemy attempts to turn/ slow down while my reticle is half closed V shape the torps ALWAYS spread out so wide as to create THE PERFECT GAP SHAPE to totally miss. And by perfect shape I mean as perfect as if the enemy ship keeps that exact dodging course the dodge is guaranteed. This happens so consistently it cant be a coincidence in my opinion. It's controlable and predictable which is why I'm so successful with that ship. I just know when I will and won't hit before I press the attack button. Can the enemy still get hit even though the shape is perfect to miss? Yes. Sometimes they dont continue that turn or accelerate with speedboost which at the time of the release the calculation couldnt take into account leading to a hit (pepega enemy move). On rockets this hasn't happened yet but I believe I'm definitely unto something and i will continue to observe this pattern. Surface ship aiming though? Always consistent for me on my PC. But as I explained on my friends its different- 40 replies

this has other reasons which I talked about often enough already but again for you: Low tiers are skipped extremely fast except for CVs. They need more XP than any other ship because they go straight to t6 meaning more battles need to be played in those which inflates CVs in those tiers especially during offtimes when not enough surface players are online to full the queue and multiple CVs are waiting for longer than usual
-
this decline is natural for most games especially after WOWS Legends released and many switched to playing it on console but obviously you wouldnt think of taking it into account
-
These are the statistics of the last 3 months of players online on EU And here is for the last year looks pretty stable despite double CV games and subs
-
It is a spike in CV population because of the release of a new line like it happens for any other line that gets released. The patch just happend recently. Give it another week and you wont have 2 CVs per team anymore LOL

didn't notice any changes on my own pc but on a friends who also uses different type of crosshair and camera settings the shots usually fall short, I blame it on their dynamic crosshair and camera settings. The aiming is completely off for me and I need to aim higher than I would need on my own PC to make the same shots giving the feeling they fall short on their PC while on mine all is as usual.- 40 replies

It's good. Tanky planes while still being relatively fast. Fast enough plane regeneration too. Rockets have tight spread and the bombers are more accurate than the ones of the t8 CV Implacable.
-
oh no how terrible. I hope you are okay. The pain most have been unbearable
-
meanwhile everyone overlooks furious. also Serov is overrated trash. No idea who the [edited] out here seriously saying it's op.
-
it was intentional. You should know me at this point :(
-
No need to brag about regular occurances I just wanted to get my daily reactions by the same 3 people
-
it wasnt a clip :D:D:D.
-
same as all the pepegas who select the most successful drop clips and act like it happens every game?
-
ah well, CVs ruining my games as usual. Barely can play my 8km torp shima against peak russian bias

Mare Est Refugium Cadentium transl. (the sea is the refuge of the fallen) ![MERC] is currently not able to provide mercenaries due to inactive clan-battles! Clanleaders who want to accept services of [MERC] look inside the spoiler! [MERC], even though created as and being a clan is not behaving like such in competitive aspects. [MERC] is a group of mercenaries in the making. The goal is to create a hub for other clans to draw [MERC] members for their own clan-battles. As such it is more of a service than a Clan. This means: Members of [MERC] remain free from any obligations other clans might ask of them. Each individual member of [MERC] is free to join in on other clans clan-battles and is encouraged to do so. [MERC] aims to form beneficial relationships with many clans giving them the opportunity to draw in members of [MERC] temporarily for clan-battles Members of [MERC] will be a mix of all player-skillgroups to give as many clans as possible the appropriate [MERC] fitting for their overall clans winrates. We offer [MERC] members..: To choose which clan they want to assist as a mercenary and get to know and make new friends. Later on maybe even leave [MERC] to join a clan they like. No pressure to play or be friends with other [MERC] members. You don't need to like each other, you don't need to talk to each other. Every member of [MERC] is free to do and play with who they want while enjoying the benefits of a clan base (currently the base is new and therefore provides little to no bonuses however) A group for players who don't want to fully commit to a clan environment with rules you don't want to adhere to or situations of so called "relaxed - competitive" which usually ends in the relaxed members and the competitive members clashing with each other. The demand of being able to fully communicate in English is not needed either, as Players joining [MERC] can freely choose which clan they want to play clan-battles with and can do so with their native speaking friends. To join however you need to fulfill these criteria: Be somewhat social. You want to be able to seek out clans to become their merc for yourself sometimes. You also want to make sure to be fine with often changing clan environments and meeting many new players. If you feel to pressured or incapable to socialize then it will become difficult for you to get your steel during clan-battle seasons. A winrate of 50% upwards. This is to give clans of all strengths the opportunity to have a [MERC] assist them matching them in understanding of the game, therefore not leading to clashes of mindsets or being disappointed in each other You need to accept being rated by your winrate and of being criticized. Clans who want you to play with them will report back about both your good and bad performances and you will be rated by their opinion of you. You also need to understand that you won't be able to play for clans with high winrates if you can barely match them yourself. Be respectful to every clan both in their discord, during clan-battles or in battles. We want to have good relationships with many clans and toxicity targeting a whole clan is not going to help with that. Be a member of the [MERC] Discord server after joining. Do you like the the idea of becoming a mercenary in WOWS? Then contact me via private/direct message in the forums or send me a message on Discord ( Yoshanai#8205 )

You simply don't engage it if that would mean getting into enemy firing range. A submarine isnt really a danger to you or your team if they stay close to their allies. Submarine torps are much more of a threat if the sub is on a far flank or in your spawn further away from their team. Lets talk about 3 different scenarios. 1*: Sub is in a cap you want to get. Simpy don't engage the cap. The sub can't cap it unless surfaced. If it has a DD supporting it (which can be likely) and you don't have a sub supporting you it's very simple to simply not engage or engage later. Caps early game aren't important. Getting a cap 5 minutes later is far easier and safer. If you have to commit however then the sub isabout to spot you if you try for the cap. In most cases you outspot it on the surface since t10 subs have 6km concealment. If you play a DD with equal or more you simply don't engage to deep. If the sub spots you, you spot it briefly too allowing your team to send depth charge bombers which is a danger for the sub. The sub can't keep you permaspotted usually as it needs to dive since your guns can really hurt it. It's the same as if you get radared for a short duration. The enemy team shoots you a little but since you expect that happening you simply start dodging the very predictable radar/ sub spotting and bully the sub out. This can't work if the sub has support and you don't. So don't engage if you don't have support. 2*: Enemy sub is on the same flank as you around 10km in front of his team. If the sub is supported by a DD and you as a DD don't have a sub support you can't engage. If you have a sub support you can try engaging if you trust your teammates (not recommended LOL). usually you simply let the sub do whatever and you do your thing keeping in mind that there is a DD supporting the enemy sub that can be a problem to you. Usually the sub itself can not be a problem to you because see point 1* the sub can't outspot ships equal or below 6km. How do you counter this sub? Wait for him to over extend and then go and get him. You can see from roughly which direction his torps are comming from where he is or you check where your teammates are sending the bombers. Usually the sub is in that area. Don't feel forced to engage the sub however, only do it if it's clear that you can block his getaway path. It's very easy to trap a sub mid - endgame if it came foward to much. On a flank like this a sub after 10minutes of the game usually used up half of his diving capacity up so they can't commit for another long dive to safely escape. Subs under water are only around 23 - 24 it's slow so you can easily catch them. 3*: Sub is in your spawn. Very simple.. just turn around and get him. If he is in your spawn with his teammates however you probably lost anyway. If he is alone in your spawn (usually bad sub players go straight through uncontested caps into the enemy spawn) you have him exactly where you want him and you can play cat and mouse with him easily. Not only is that sub an easy kill (your teammates will gladly support you with bombers) but also very easy XP. The sub can't do crap to you in return as he can't spot you without surfacing. You can also choose to simply ignore this sub as such a sub if not careful is quickly surrounded by your teammates and spammed by bombers which will finish it quite quickly once every angle of escape is covered by bombers. The most general advice I would give you is to just not bother with the sub early and mid-game at all. Just do DD things as you did them before subs were introduced and don't force to engage subs. Always think 2 steps ahead and ask yourself: Is this sub really a threat to anyone right now? Would it be better if I gave the sub an idea of safety by not engaging it now to trap it later? Who can shoot me if I try to engage the sub? Will the sub be an actual threat to me in my current situation? Is it worth it to risk a cap for me now if I'm unsure of the subs position and what support it might have? Always play it safe think before choosing to cap and check where the sub is going to be. If your friendly sub is spawning middle then the enemy sub if not in a div is also spawning in the middle. Same for the DD. You can assume on most maps that the sub will be at the B cap. So if you spawn near it a great option is to get close to the cap but not cap, wait and spot what ships (cruisers BBs) are supporting on the enemy side. Then give them the cap and wait. Truly like magic the sub will run straight into you without his team's support and you'll have an easy snack. But don't be the snack yourself by going full "RUSH B" mode. Also no... a DDs job is not to cap ASAP. Your job is to cap when you can safely do so. A dead DD that didn't cap and blames his team and subs and WG instead of getting gud might aswell just uninstall

is it finally time to quit the game or are you still going to stay?
-
who needs a burst bubble when people like you charge right into subs with their DDs while the subs team just kills them?
-
Maybe he should have tried to hit the same sub with those. btw 12 depth charges equal at least 24k dmg. Considering subs only having around 14k hp it's impossible no matter what for one to tank that much since they cant heal.
