that is the biggest problem tbh. These days almost every player tries really hard to dodge CV strikes no matter what. Farming pepegas has never been more annoying. Thats why I personally stick to my "do only what is necessary to win" approach. Everything beyond that will only get frustration as you try chasing that 300k but the yamato you are about to drop rather shows broadside to the 10km away monty to get oneshot instead of eating 4 midway torps for 12k dmg

tbh it was the wish of the community to add reasons for players to yolo less. I remember players complaining often about fast ending games because players rush to their death. So WG implementing more threats requiring more careful play is really going against that behavior, Also Unicums usually always play more passive at first because it's just the smart way to play. It's the same in most other games. You always build up your economy first in AoE2 before committing unless you have a well planned out early rush in mind which when known it's coming can be countered easily leading to crippled economy. Safe play has always been the best option and now WG requires it for even the pepegas who love to rush to their death because it's becoming more and more fruitless to do so with more counters to it

I personally killed quite a few unicums in my sub because they sometimes have no choice but to take key positions which I targeted. However that requires a brain sub player. No, I'm just saying that stupid gets punished. A DD would have done the same as a sub But a sub wouldn't have been able to do what I did with the shima. It all depends on the ingame situation. I never stated that this is always how it goes. If BBs know from where the shima torps they can to an extend dodge most of the torps. They can't necessarily however avoid all the subs torps. However sub torps do far less damage. It's not all the same but depending on the decisionmaking of the victim the outcome is the same. Or are you saying the BBs i torped in that clip had counterplay and fun?

Simple, it always depends on the ingame situation and how the sub is threatening you, in what position you are in that moment, if you were aware of its presence or not and much more. If you really want to know how to play the game with and around subs then give me specific examples and if that's too complicated for you or if your goal was to rant from the start instead of really wanting advice then just ignore this offer

First try explaining how subs are ruining the game for you and then maybe advice can be offered.

Depending on the device you use I advice you to make sure that all fans are clean of dust and that airflow isn't obstructed for your PC. Try to choose based on what you'd enjoy to play more. If you like playing battleships over cruisers then choose a battleship. Then ask yourself what that battleship needs to fulfill for you. You already have a Yamato so Shikishima won't offer much unique so maybe Bourgogne with her unique playstyle of being a very fast BB with fast reload would be interesting to you.
