Give New Players a Fun to Play Environment that's free of CVs, subs and seal clubbers
Starchy_Tuber replied to _HomTanks_'s topic in General Discussion
and gameplay at higher tiers is horrendous as peeps get there without knowing even the basics... because there is no enforced tutorial system. I've introduced 4 people to this game over the last month and only 1 of them has stayed to play to Tier 5.... all of them could've benefitted from teaching the basics in a Training Room, but Training Rooms are locked behind a Random-Play-Wall of 150 games... which only one of them will ever reach now. Its amazingly dumb. -

KOTS EU was rather boring... rather like Clan Wars which saw a big chunk of our clan stop playing the game altogether. Apparently the "fix" is to see CVs allowed, which was the other reason a big chunk of our clan stopped playing CW...and then the game altogether. -

Well, if the cap fits.... but was referring to our other CV main who likes posting pictures from films and telling everybody else how crap they are if they dislike carriers. see.. he keeps posting things like that which are just patently untrue, then expects everybody to believe he can dodge anything from a CV in his non-CV ships...but without ever showing us any evidence that he can... at all. (Its a rather Trumpian method tbph - but does the Emperor actually have any clothes on ever?) -
Did watch KOTS XI but no container.

and to seal club in CVs... whilst saying "stats are not important" whilst hiding his stats....and then using other peoples stats to "prove them wrong" about CVs. https://thumbs.gfycat.com/AcidicScentedFireant-size_restricted.gif -

Yup. The issue is how much WG pay for a new cusotmer and then the expected spend by that customer. If, currently, they on average buy a couple of premiums (totally made up numbers, do not use as real) to "play the game better" whilst the mechanics of the game are hidden, then introducing good tutorials etc is not in their interests as they may impact their sales to enw customers. Its in ways like this that obscuring the mechanics can be beneficial to the operating company - it inevitably leads to poor gameplay/game-knowledge but that is irrelevant if it keeps the company in profit. So so long as the average advertising spend per new customers is less than the average new-customer spend, then things are golden. Here though comes "Organic Growth" - word of mouth new customers that cost Lesta nothing, clearly if they also spend as much as the "bought" customers then its very much more Golden... that though tends to depend on quality of gameplay encouraging that word of mouth organic growth. The two methods can directly impact one another...and often do. When one sees a near total absence of effort on improving introductory gameplay, gamer knowledge and "QoL", but big effort and spend on getting constant new customers (that they dont mind losing) then one can draw their own conclusions on the preferred methodology for Lesta...and from that determine the likelihood of any improvements. Imo the only openly egregious error by Lesta is the inability to take a newbie into a training room until they have 150 games in random...and one can draw only one conclusion from that: they want people to pay to be 'better' by buying premiums before they understand the game mechanics. -

Yeah.... no. That is not what that indicates at all. If new players were sticking around the playerbase would be growing... quite a lot..... the only way it isn't as because as many people are leaving as are joining. That is called "Churn"... the higher the Churn rate, the more expensive it is too maintain playerbase numbers. -

Comparison of rates are unimportant, even if you knew them, which you don't. Its fundamental business sense though as its harder and more expensive to get new customers than to keep them. "apparently so since wows still develops new content in a rapid rate indicating success." That actually indicates the opposite - they need constant new products/features to keep going as standard content does not retain customers. -

Aha! The good old, "If I cant see it, it doesn't exist" approach to customer relations, where prevention is worse than inaction. Maybe many quit before even bothering with the forum, because, you know, that how most people do quit games... without a sound..... Though its not like games like this live or die by Churn rate and that everybody with half an ounce of knowledge in the industry already knows that... because unless you do, it doesn't exist. . Yes indeed, every game suffers from the same issue, well done, but did you have a point other than to confirm it is a very widespread problem for every developer in the industry? -

And ftlog let them go into a Training Room without having had to play 150 random games first. (possibly the dumbest thing I have seen in this game except for hidden profile seal-clubbing CV players trying to protect their seal-clubbing CVs) -

I don't play CVs, and I don't need to, to know how they perform - I just read whatever El2aZeR says and take it as fact. You... not so much. -
They've still got a mountain of BS to put out yet, so there will be many more of the "Mightiest Soviestki Bestest in Everything Totally Historical WW2 Fleet of Uberness".

Will Benham ever get released?
Starchy_Tuber replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
lols, I did the same.... currently playing LWOTC XCOM2, then it'll be Warhammer TW new expansion, and by then it will be 2077 time. my premium ran out a couple of weeks ago and I have seen nothing whatsoever to encourage me back into the game atm. nothing. -
please stop wasting your resources on crud like this, spend that time on something useful like scenarios...or anything else that actually does something for the game instead of this wasteful self-indulgent BS.

"Because cruisers are usually easiest to punish"" exactly not, because they are not getting citadelled when they should be..... that's the OPs point, and he is right.
