GG ez! (we laugh but you just know there will be mega whales who will do this). "Infinite" points, where your only limit is time spent (until you get all the skills). Much like Austin's new reload booster... -

I expected this, because forum estimates have been what, between 750k and 1 million? It's always higher than player estimates with WG - same story happened with our estimates of Smaland / Hayate fxp costs. Count yourselves lucky it's not 1.5 or even crazier. This is WG adding new goalposts for people who had nothing left to grind, and ensuring those goalposts stay in place for the foreseeable future. -
Which is next week? Assuming you're allowed to tell us ofc.

Apparently you haven't played any random battles at all, so not really sure what this thread is about? Literally anything is easy to play in any tier of coop.

A pink bow tie tied around the conning tower would be good.

Alpha Bravo in profile view while in a game

That could be taken as quite insulting. Besides, the correct name for it is Surrender Speak -
I've got several ships that I actually like, but just can't get wins on. In terms of cursed ones, Kagero springs to mind - no matter what I did my teams would just fall apart... and this wasn't me sailing the map border trying to torp dd's, no, this was with killing other DD's and getting caps. Just couldn't get wins. Tier before, tier higher, all good though.

Personally I'd go with AR+PM on top of what you have already, as it maximizes the boat's strengths (imho), alternatively the advice above about dropping SI in order to be able to afford Radio Location is also viable. Another possibility is sacrificing a few seconds of torpedo reload instead, so you can keep SI and the extra heal that goes with it, and still get RL. Like I said though, I'd just go with AR+PM on top of what you have already. Forget about BoS on DD's. Fires will rarely ever get you killed and if you're taking torps as a DD floodings are the least of your concern - this is really not a DD skill. BoS will not solve the issue of taking damage when open water gunboating - learning when and how to do it will. Trust me, BoS will not make you survive longer in a DD if you misplay and take massive salvos in return. The main thing, as I said, is learning when to sacrifice your stealth in order to engage with guns so you don't get wrecked by half the enemy team, and that takes some awareness and practice. Utilize the information the mini map gives you, know your opponents, and don't engage with guns in front of things like Smolensks, nearby Conqs / Thunderers, Venezias, smoked up Harugumos, etc.

Removal of the Kamikaze from the game.
Captain_Newman replied to MacFergus's topic in General Discussion
Kami’s tech tree counterpart is the Minekaze, not the Mutsuki, and Minekaze is actually quite similar to Kami (weaker, yes, but a pretty good t5 DD). -

While some people enjoy them, they are the minority, and even less are actually good in them. They are the most hated and complained about class in the game due to their ability to quickly spot anything on the map and the ability to deal damage and kill stuff from absolute safety, tucked away at the edge of the map behind some island. It is this ability that usually infuriates people, since the AA has been nerfed to joke levels so actually denying strikes is often impossible. If this sounds bad, that’s because it is. If you run into a good CV player that wants you dead, you will die. Only question is, how soon. Luckily, most CV players are bad, and if they focus you there are things you can usually do. Since you play DD’s and you will start seeing CV’s at tier 4, tip: don’t sail around with AA on, that just gets you spotted faster. Instead, turn it off (P) and also enable AA detection circles on your minimap to aid in avoiding detection as much as possible. When you do turn AA on because you are plane spotted anyway, do so with the sector reinforcement key (O) in the direction of the planes. -

Hi and welcome! Let's take it from the top: 1. I don't believe so, and (tl;dr forget the MacOS version exists). 2. You need to use each ship for the next one. In order to unlock a tier 4 ship, you need to gain the required amount of xp on a tier 3 ship, then grind through tier 4 for to get to 5, and so on until you hit tier 10. 3. For destroyers, your base build is usually this (first 10 points): Preventive Maintenance or Priority Target, Last Stand (mandatory on all DD's), Survivability Expert (do not use this on Battleships, please, don't be that guy), and Concealment Expert. The remaining 9 points are usually distributed based on the role - is it a pure gunboat (build for better gun dpm), torp boat (better torp reload) or something of a hybrid (decide yourself). In addition, Radio Location is a very useful skill there. Not sure what you meant by Reginald there? If that's the name of your captain, if it isn't one of the unique captains (like Andrew Cunningham, Halsey etc) their names are just randomly selected from a pool of names appropriate to each nation. Also worth keeping in mind WG is planning a massive rework of the skill tree system soon (in a few months, probably) but until that hits the base DD build I specified above will work. 4. For the first BB line I still think USN Battleships (the branch that goes from North Carolina to Montana) is a good first one to learn about positioning, angling, gunnery, etc. Cruisers.. there are several types (lock down the cap with radar, hit and run with radar, kite and spam, etc). You're probably best off learning how to effectively kite, and there's plenty of choice there - German, IJN, Royal Navy CA's (their CL's are excellent but very specific, hard to play well and a really poor first choice) or French. Alternatively you could go with Russian CA's (line that ends with Petropavlovsk), but prepare for a bit of a slog at t9. Honestly I still think Hindenburg is a fairly good choice for a first t10 cruiser, even with all the power creep going on. It's just a solid all-rounder platform well suited to learning the most important lessons of playing cruisers. 5. Keep your money until you get more battles and experience under your belt. If you must spend, use it for premium time to help with credit farming. I'd avoid falling into the trap of buying any premium ships for now, low tier ones won't really help you that much with credits or captain training, and high tier ones won't help you either as you'll just get murdered and bottom score if you just jump straight into them with no prior experience, which will result in financial losses regardless of the ship being premium. -
Aw don't be like that, people have been asking them for years to rework the skill tree system, specifically everyone wanted it more restrictive and convoluted... right...? Anyone?

Oh, buying Yahagi just for this is a risky move. One happened to drop from a box last Christmas for me, so I can just use that to cut my costs. And yea, I do expect a hefty grind, as long as it isn't completely insane like PR was.
-
Nights and evenings are two different things. I'd expect the session to end at around 11PM CET. If you work and have to get up in the morning you probably wouldn't have stayed much later than that to play, anyway. I am amused with the sentence about "ensuring high-quality matchmaking". Have these people even played the game
-
The reason I will probably go for this is that I happen to have a Yahagi and the doubloons, so I can get it done at a discount, as it were. Only thing that may change my mind is if they make the directives as bat-droppings nuts as they did last year for the PR. I doubt it though, it’s a tier lower and they did their annual christmas rile-up-the-community thing early this year.

I’m not entirely clear on how qualification will work, exactly. Is it like struggles between leagues in CB’s? So, 5 attempts, you need 3 wins. If you fail, I take it you have to wait until the next season to try again?

State of the game 2020 is surprisingly just fine

All around the globe, famously. Also, I'm glad I've learned a new thing in this thread, and that is - your dislike of a streamer is invalid unless you are a streamer yourself with more followers than him. Good to know! -
There is no need to speculate, we already know she will be the dockyard event reward in the next patch. You’ll need to buy 4 shipbuilding phases for doubloons (roughly 8k I think) and the rest can be grinded.

Raw player numbers can be misleading if not taken in context of how many old players left and were replaced by new ones. WG is now relying on a revolving door approach where they’re happy to make it easy for newbies to buy their way or skip ahead easily to high tiers, as veterans show themselves to the door. Coupled with releasing increasingly more powerful ships this leads to more and more matches where literally more than half of one team has people at 45% or less, leading to complete steamrolls that last for 8-9 min tops and neither side had much fun being far more common now. The game may not be dead, but for me (and this seems to be a sentiment shared by most veteran players I saw comment on this) it is far less enjoyable than it used to be 2-3 years ago. It’s still possible to get some fun out of it sometimes, but you have to go through a lot more crap than before to find it. This is now just a matter of time. It won’t die quickly, mind you, but the rot has set in and it will continue it’s work, slowly but surely. I don’t think this game will be what I’d consider playable in a fun sense in a year or two. And that’s fine, had years in it, no game lasts forever. -

Yea, I've had lots of games recently where the enemy team gets like 2 unicum clan divisions and mine gets a bunch of people below 200 battles and/or WR below 45% (literally over half the team). You try, and you even make it close, but it's hard to carry when your team mates all start suffering from the rapid death syndrome. Overall running wows monitor can be a sobering experience. Way too many completely one sided stomps lately, even winning is rarely satisfying in these 8 min matches.

I have two, one on Kidd, the other on Fujin. Both cases were much like described above, we got an early advantage then everyone died. In the Kidd game the enemy team was actually trash talking me for "wasting time" and "running away" as they were convinced they won. Apparently looking at the time and points is too complicated for some to this day, but the "oh s**t" comment of one of the guys trash talking me when he realized what was going on 5 seconds before game end was priceless, at least

Interesting info from sister-NA Forum: "Fire calculation confirmation" by April "LittleWhiteMouse"
Captain_Newman replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
A system that restricts skills per class will always be inherebtly inferior and less interesting than a universal skill tree equal for all ships in the game, so it’s possible to hand craft unique builds for very specific ships. As an example, there’s cruisers out there that benefit from BB-like, and some from DD-like builds. Leave it to WG to go fix what isn’t broken and make things worse in the process.I’d wager this was done so they can just add a new skill tree for subs when they come out, when all they had to do was expand on the original skill tree for that. This will make the builds part of the game far less interesting while messing up certain ships for no good reason. I’ve literally never seen a positive comment about this but WG will still ram it down our throats then do the sunken cost fallacy reasoning of too much time, money and effort invested to give up on, much like they did with the CV rework. WG: the nasty thing about points of no return is that you can’t see them before you’ve already passed them. You are making this game worse and worse and at some point this will start becoming evident in a dwindling player base. It will be too late to reverse this course then.
