Don't worry, I doubt they need yours or anyone else's help in getting terrible ideas. Even if they read your thread, they probably went "way ahead of you, comrade".

It makes sense comrade, Japan sold a building licence for a modified Izumo class to China. Because we all know of the undeniable love that exists between the two nations to this day... Like, I know there's a lot of fantasy ships, and historical accuracy isn't exactly at home in this game, but even for completely made up ships it'd be nice if you could at least go "I suppose I could see this ship happening in an alternate reality". Baije is just farming more money off the Asia server, it seems.

Game is no fun at this stage
Captain_Newman replied to Captn_TittiTakka's topic in General Discussion
Especially so this holiday patch, most of my teams for the last few days play worse than they should if they just finished installing the game for the first time 5 min ago. -
I'd say hold on to your steel until you can afford a really good t10.

Why can't We Gift Other Players Anymore???
Captain_Newman replied to Cyclops_'s topic in General Discussion
Because everyone's already getting a free Puerto Rico this year, it's all the gifts any comrade needs -
DD's, I still don't get them..
Captain_Newman replied to Hopeless_Guppy's topic in General Discussion
Damage, maybe, not win rate. Every well played DD is a carry machine, more so than anything else (with the possible exception of a unicum CV). -
Indeed, that avatar always puts me in a holiday mood

Hayate release poll - RESULTS ARE IN!
Captain_Newman replied to Egoleter's topic in General Discussion
Surely they wouldn't try something that obv... remembers claims about PR being obtainable for free, Gorizia grind being easier than PEF, subs not fitting the game and never being introduced, LM missions being available forever, etc... ok, never mind. Yea, she's a t10. A clan mate described her as something between shima and harugumo, which doesn't really help me a whole lot since the two boats are about as different as DD's can be. But I guess something along the lines of "not as much gunpower as Haru, not as much torp power as shima, but a good all rounder". Someone correct me if I'm wrong, or add to this, I'm curious too. -
The line is showing it's age a bit, perhaps, but I'd say Hindi is still a fairly consistent ship. If you want to try the line out, definitely do so, they're not bad ships overall.

Peurto Rico - who is actually grinding her
Captain_Newman replied to pzkpfwv1d's topic in General Discussion
I decided to throw my dubs into santa crates instead. I much prefer that Belfast, Enterprise + a bunch of other ships that dropped in my port from them, than having a clumsier, less accurate Alaska with Montana dispersion. Sucks a bit to not complete the PR since just watching it being built is so cool, but it's neither worth my time nor money. -
If I were to jump ships, I'd prefer to first have a ship to jump to.

Hayate release poll - RESULTS ARE IN!

I voted coal, though fxp is not a bad option either given how much stuff is going for coal already. -
Like I said, I didn't notice any particular rudder issues with the Zara, though to be fair I grinded through it rather quickly stacking a bunch of camos and flags, so, maybe I just didn't have time to notice. I can definitely say I never saw Amalfi having particular rudder problems outside the norm for standard cruisers. Same goes for Brindisi and Venezia.

Oh, their artists pretty consistently do a great job, and have done so with the dockyard as well. Which makes the fact that it's a no-go scam for over 99% of the player base all the more frustrating. It's just a lot of great work gone to waste thanks to decisions made by people who haven't invested any of their skills into making it look as good as it does.

I want a new cruiser line to try, any advice?
Captain_Newman replied to Nexio_'s topic in General Discussion
X for doubt. These have gone up but unicum levels, erm.. no. I'm not picking on you, btw, and it's great you're improving, but you're not yet at the point where you should be handing out advice. We don't even need your stats to say that when you say things like balti or buffalo being better then a DM. Had you said, "I just enjoy them more because I play more mobile with them", I might have let it go (though a DM is better at that as well, especially with the LM). -
Damage Control party vs Heal party
Captain_Newman replied to ________________Morrison's topic in General Discussion
They are two different consumables with different rules. On anything with a heal, don't use DCP on single fires unless that fire will kill you. If in a DD or cruiser, you sometimes want to fix a fire when retreating so you can go dark sooner. There's exceptions to every rule. Sometimes you can just guarantee that when you go dark nobody will be able to shoot you for a while - it's rare, but when you are absolutely sure there's no reason to let even a single fire burn, but that's the exception rather than a rule. It's hard to generalize, as you should optimally use it depending on the situation. Example, say a CV gets a flooding on my BB - I might not fix it immediately if he can still do another drop (or two) or there's a nearby DD that probably torped me too and I can't guarantee I won't take one. Otherwise I'd probably just fix a flood immediately. With a heal, I often don't use it if not in imminent danger of being killed off to make use of AR-enabled DPM bonus. It's usage also depends greatly on the ship type you're in - a superheal should optimally be used differently than a normal one (you wait until you're really low, as long as it isn't citadel damage, then print yourself a new ship). -
legendary/unique upgrades becomes research buru only
Captain_Newman replied to howardxu_23's topic in General Discussion
And end with a bleach / meth / asbestos cocktail, by the looks of things. -
Yea, that was way back in the RTS CV era, when they released the first iteration of the GZ that was terrible and he said "whoever thought this was in a good state to be sold should be fired". Then WG removed him in response, there was some predictable backlash from the community, WG invited him back, but he declined. That's how I remember it, in a nutshell.
-
Allow me to anwer the thread title with WG's Rule of Acquistion.

I'd actually say the value of all t6 premiums went a bit up with the MM changes they did. T7 is almost always in t9 MM now (which is why I usually just play a Haida or now, the Belfast when a clan mate wants to play that tier - if I'm going to be uptiered +2, I want a ship that doesn't care), which means t6's often get to play as top tier. Not always, but often.
-
Good luck! Wouldn't mind dropping that particular paragon of balance myself.
-
I got nothing out of my 29 free small boxes I got from t10's, not a single ship, so I'd say you got pretty lucky there.
-
I like it too. People whine about it's speed (you need to know how to position) and lack of AA (which is a joke anyway, especially in this tier), but it's guns are really good. And I can forgive a lot if the guns work. They just produce cits left and right. Love it.
-
Well, I got lucky this year. After the free crated dropped nothing, I spent a bunch of doubloons I had hoarded (was planning on using them for the PR boosters, then the patch hit, so I dropped them on the boxes instead, I'd literally rather own a kamikaze than a PR). Drops: 1 t8 (Le Terrible) 4 t7 (Lazo, Blyska, Abruzzi, Yudachi - not a weeb so that last one is wasted on me with it's sea mine memes - really, is this ship's only role to spam "POI" in chat like you're a bit speshul?) some t6-t5... and then from the last box, a Belfast. That alone makes it all worth it, especially when I remember that last year all I managed to get was an Eugen, I can say I'm pretty happy with my haul this Christmas.
-
I don't remember having any particular rudder issues on Amalfi, Brindisi or now on Venezia. This is not the french line where someone on the other side of the planet looks at the wiki entry fo the charles martel and over here it's rudder gets disabled as a result. There, you want LS and rudder mod (as it will break all the time even with the mod). I can't say I noticed the rudder being particularly vulernable on the italian cruisers. Mind you, I haven't played the mid tiers much, started the line at Zara, but that seemed fine rudder wise as well.
