    Connection issues

No, you're not the only one, this has been going on a lot ever since the patch hit. I lost a few ranked sprint battles solely because of this. It just takes too damn long to reconnect, and it's become quite a common occurence.

    Why can't missles be implemented?

Please no. I'm already hoping WG gives up on the idea of guided torps, after playing on the test server a bit they're fairly broken, the only counter balance to them being the clunky system involved in using them. In that respect they remind me a little bit of RTS CV's where you felt like you were fighting the interface more than the enemy. Anyhow, and with all due respect, there's already plenty of tools to work with, some of them quite OP, to destroy enemy ships. Introducing a guided weapons system that neither requires much skill to hit with, nor much skill other than RNG to shoot them down, is a terrible idea. And what are the low AA ships supposed to do? Shall we have another case of "just dodge (the guided missile), comrade"? Or add a new reason for people to blob or camp islands? I really hope WG sticks to their guns on this one and just keeps them out of the game, as they should have done with subs.

    Why AA skills are worthless

If that's not enough logic with you, they could always add immunity to detonations and near-immunity to fires. Right? Imagine how silly that would be.. Oh. Wait.

Sprint Ranked: 1 vs 1, Skill vs OP ship

I've had an encounter yesterday that made me realize a largely forgotten ship is actually quite good for this mode, especially vs. CV's. The Alabama. AA.. like any AA these days, it won't prevent strikes, but it will punish them. Torpedo belt - 50% damage reduction: good luck killing it with torpedo bombers before it gets the caps and wins on points. It also helps it it's fairly short for a BB and quite maneuverable. AP bombers are far more likely to score pen damage rather than cits. All in all, this ship can get the cap and survive long enough to win on points vs. a CV. Your bigger problem would likely be DD's in it, but those are kind of rare in this mode.

Premium ships you really shouldn't get ?

Indeed, you kind of want to run IFHE/DE combo on them, even with that it's a lot of work to get damage out of them but it works. Problem is, that captain isn't really usable on the tech tree ships then, as 7 points are spent on skills completely useless to SAP cruisers.

Premium ships you really shouldn't get ?

Eh, most of them are loot box filler trash, tbh. The more you have, the better your chances of dropping a coveted rare ship, but this is a really bad reason to buy a premium. Some noteworthy ones... t5 - nothing that's currently available (only worthwhile stuff here are the Kami sisters, Gremy and Giulio, really) t6- t61 is really good. I really like DeGrasse. Ark Royal is really, really strong if you like CV's. t7 - Haida is amazing. Leningrad, pretty good. Blyska and Nelson you can grind for free, both can be fun if not what they used to be thanks to the constant power creep. Belfast is god tier, but you can't get her anymore. t8 - Lenin is probably hands down the best prem bb in it's tier, Massa is great fun as well. Cossack is amazing (not sure if still available, it's kind of broken, I expect her to become a rare ship at some point). Atago is feeling the power creep a bit and her range and dpm let her down, especially when uptiered, but she's still a good ship. I quite like the Eugen, having dropped her last christmas, but apparently I'm just weird that way. Alabama should get an honorable mention, really good if largely forgotten ship. I don't have the Bayard but she's clearly a very strong cruiser, probably a way better choice than Atago atm. Loyang is still good with her hydro/smoke combo when you actually get to use it, though it's firepower is kind of anemic in both gun and especially the torp departments. t9 - if you missed the Benham and don't drop her from a box, sucks to be you. Same goes for Missouri, Kron, Musashi, etc. You already have the JB and Friesland, so that's two very strong ships in their tier. If you have the steel, Black is worth a look. t10- Thunderer, Smolensk, Yoshino if you feel like kiting with added 20km torp memes. Again, if you have the steel, Stalingrad and/or Bourgogne are good buys (we'll see how Bourg can deal with the proposed cruiser plating buff when the IFHE nerf hits, though).

    Ranked Battle 1v1 (hopeless)

You set yourself up to fail, so not sure I'd agree with it being unfair. Here's why.. In a 1v1 format, it will obviously be rock-paper-scissors, meaning if you encounter a class that you counter well, you win, if you find a class that counters you, you lose. And you took out a Richelieu. Hardly the best choice, BB wise.. let's take a look at possible scenarios here. vs. DD: you just die. Richie just doesn't have the DPM to bring a remotely competent DD down in time before he can rush and kill you. vs. Cruiser: maaaybe depending on which cruiser and who plays it. Again, your DPM isn't that amazing, and torp cruisers will be a problem. vs. another BB: you most likely lose, because let's face it.. it will either be Tirpitz or Massa, most likely, and both eat a Richie for breakfast. vs. a CV: lol no (all this assumes the enemy players have some basic competency). You didn't exactly give yourself much of a chance there, did you? Don't play Richielieu in this mode, it's just a bad choice. You lack torps, secondary power, accuracy and DPM compared to most opposition you will face, and the more innacurate ships you face will compensate for it in other ways (torps, great secondaries, etc). Also, that's a RAIN Kiev, so you lost that one on the loading screen regardless

Low Tier Ships - Whats your favourite ?

Smith can be fun with it's 11s torpedo reload.. it's a floating meme..

    random disconnects ?

I just had two ranked sprint defeats in a row to disconnects. My connection was stable the entire time. WG, if you could maybe postpone getting gold-plated decor for SerB's Maybach and fix the damn servers, that'd be appreciated.
  10. I disagree. One thing to understand is that in this game, 1v1 engagements are a rarity. This ranked season is the first ever example of a 1v1 season we've ever had, and in randoms, it's quite rare to have a 1v1 duel with nobody else interfering, where both ships entered with full hp. Being best at 1v1 and best for a team vs team can be two very different things. For randoms, I would still call the Bismarck stronger than the Tirpitz, because the hydro will be useful in a wider array of situations. It just so happens that Tirpitz's torps give it an edge in a 1v1 situation. If this same 1v1 ranked was done in t7 I wager you'd have loads of Gneisenaus getting similar results. I also disagree about tech tree ships being inherently weaker in general - while there are stronger and weaker ones, there's plenty of silver ships that are carry machines able to deal with anything they go against, premium or not.

The CV rework theme (replace Aperture Science with WarGaming, and Black Mesa with War Thunder, and enjoy):

Bogatyr and Ishizuchi here. I remember having lots of fun on Clemson and Isokaze, but that was ages ago..

    why!?

It's silly to conflate freedom of speech (or lack thereof) in some states and rules of behavior in a forum about a computer game. One has relevance to the quality of your life, the other does not. Also, different rules and logic apply. It's just not the same thing.
  14. Captain_Newman

    why!?

You're supposed to dump all your anti-CV sentiments into a single thread that has hundreds of pages, so it can be ignored more easily. Also, please don't confuse actual freedom of speech in a state with behavior rules in a forum. Forums are not, nor did they ever pretend to be, a democracy. Admin staff has the right to enforce any rules they like, and you have the right to like it or not, and use it or not. One such rule, for example, is that it's not permitted to discuss moderator decisions in this way. So... In b4 lock.
  15. Captain_Newman

    Why AA skills are worthless

Not sure why I keep forgetting to take the even tiers only thing into account.. so, the rework even failed at boosting the class popularity. Interesting. It always seemed to me that they're more popular now, but when putting the encounter rate in the context of the CV pop being condensed across 4 tiers instead of 7.. yea, makes sense.
  16. Captain_Newman

    Why AA skills are worthless

While I agree with most of your post, are you sure about the CV population being down to RTS levels? I still find almost every game has a CV in it (EU). I'd say 7 out of 10 days you'll get a CV playing mixed tiers (say, t7-t10 range).
  17. Like I said elsewhere.. while WG should absolutely try and make some in-game tutorials that teach new players the basics, you'd be surprised how little effect that would have. Yes, it would help with the occasional new player that has like 200-300 battles in total and is doing his first high tier games. It would not help with the absolute hordes of people that have thousands of battles, sometimes over 10k, with horrendous wr and other stats. People like that won't learn from any tutorial - if they were interested in learning, they would have done so by now; by playing the game they demonstrated that they have an internet connection, which is all you need to gain access to easily-found materials published by a bunch of CC's that cover a wide variety of how-to-play topics. I find the biggest issue are people with WR between 40 and 50% while having thousands and thousands of battles. The vast majority of them think they know everything, call you an idiot when you tell them they're doing something wrong and politely suggest what they should do instead, then rage at the team for no support when they die (usually after solo yoloing an entire enemy advancing flank). They're stubborn, absolutely convinced of their skill and knowledge, and there's no helping them, sadly. However, tutorials should still be made for new player's benefit.
  18. This season should've been called "Rock-Paper-Enterprise"

    Reports and chatbans

If there was nothing else, you should appeal this - there is nothing in here that warrants a chat ban. Usually, though, when people complain about being chat banned for nothing, I often see a WG employee respond with something like "I looked into this, that's not why you were banned, if you are interested I can show you the reason in private messages" or something along those lines. So.. are you sure this was the reason? Like I said, if you are, appeal. Getting banned for the chat above is nonsense.

CV Rework 2019 in graphs and where we are right now

Especially when you can just slingshot past the flak wall which removes the need to even dodge.. yea, AA is a joke atm.

BB's That Shoot Only HE... Noobs or Clever Pyromancers

Which is exactly what I already stated in this thread. The point is, distracting someone from shooting and killing your team mates (which you should absolutely do) isn't relevant to the topic at hand - as always, you select the ammo type based on what will do the most damage based on your target, range, and angle. A big salvo will do more to distract, regardless of it being caused by HE or AP. If your target is broadside you can do massive damage to it with AP. This will either cause target to angle against you, probably losing the ability to farm your team mates while he does that, or he stays broadside and dies. In this situation using AP is far better than trying to get fires, especially if you're in a bb with your 30-ish second reload (harder to get fires to stick due to low dpm).

Moskva needs a buff + ideas

I don't really see the Moskva as weak, though I agree that it's stealth being worse than Kremlin is silly. I'd say both Moskva stealth should probably be buffed a bit, and Kremlin's nerfed. But she can still perform well with bow tanking and AP, especially with the legendary mod.

BB's That Shoot Only HE... Noobs or Clever Pyromancers

He will be just as distracted by a big AP volley. It's funny that you call AP usage stat padding and HE usage "team play", though, thanks for the laugh.
  24. Captain_Newman

BB's That Shoot Only HE... Noobs or Clever Pyromancers

A bb that doesn't shy away from using HE when he knows AP won't be very effective (say, a bow on Yama that isn't presenting it's cheeks, for example) is smart. A bb that just spams HE at all times regardless of the target, angle and range is most likely a potato. Good players switch ammo based on the situation. There are times when even a Smolensk should switch to AP...

CV Rework 2019 in graphs and where we are right now

While I agree that WG could do more to teach players, this would only help those that are willing to learn (and they tend to find ways to learn despite WG's lack of effort in this regard). Example? How about all the Asashio players out there with thousands of battles on their account, and hundreds in Asashio, that still try to torp me when I'm in my DD, all the while not using the great guns the ship has, much to my amusement. Players of this caliber won't be helped by any tutorial, as they're likely to skip it - they think they already know everything, and have an explanation for their crappy stats with the noob-team-no-support meme. However, WG should still make more of an effort to teach new players, absolutely. Won't help with 42%-ers that have thousands of battles, but it might help with 42%-ers that have like 200-ish.
