gib nou! -
I'm being completely serious. These people should have their accounts deleted. They're making low tiers a horrible experience for new players because they're skilless and pathetic enough that the only way they can get good wr on a ship is to farm newcomers. By doing this, they are actively harming the game. Seriously, don't even lock them in coop, just delete their accounts permanently. BTW I recently encountered a guy that was number 1 on that list (I dropped a low tier premium so I went to test it out). That 4k Hosho games is half of his games played. So 8k total, 4k Hosho. He's had his "fun", needs to be made to go away now. Permanently.

I was going to give the Jean Bart as an example, but this works even better.

Your point? DD's are op, or..? Did you even have one short of putting words in his mouth so you can shoot them down (commonly known as a strawman argument, this would be a textbook example of one)? -
Yes, it was a bad, over the top, overpriced, extremely grindy event. Yes, their initial presentation of it was poor. The way they handled it was poor as well. It's all been discussed to death, making a millionth thread on this topic won't change anything. The event is over, let it go.

Whats happening to DD players today ??
Captain_Newman replied to AkulaTSR's topic in General Discussion
Couldn't agree more, especially with the last part. It literally feels like a 42%er bb main that got touched by a shima in all the wrong places has been making the calls lately. -

Yea, not looking forward to that either. Radar dd's are, simply put, bad for the game. -
Aircraft Assassination : what is your record to-day?
Captain_Newman replied to Rhineheart_Thor's topic in General Discussion
I had 63 planes twice. Once, in a Kidd. And the other time.. I still have no idea how this is even possible. You'd never guess the ship so I'll just show this. Don't ask me how. I just remember it was a double CV game, and they must have been running no survivability skills or upgrades for their planes because they were getting swatted out of the skies like flies. This was pre-AA nerf, ofc. -

So glad people like this are beta testers. Does explain a few things. -

Captain_Newman replied to AkulaTSR's topic in General Discussion
This is all true, but not relevant to the argument I made. Of course there's a skill gap. A massive one. That's a consequence of what I already said - the DD is by far the least forgiving class in the game. That means, in effect, that a potato player will usually die when he makes a mistake in a DD, where a similar mistake in another class would have merely cost them some health, usually. The fact good DD players know how to bait, distract, and generally use the spotting mechanics to their advantage doesn't change that. Potatoes will die more easily in DD's because the class is less forgiving than other ones. -

An option that lasts for a week, and is activated from the armory for the low, low price of 10k doubloons or 250k coal. Get it while it's hot.. -
I never cared for the Amagi, myself. Had fun with the rest of the line - Fuso is a jewel, Nagato was fun, I even liked the pre-buff Izumo (likes to burn, yes, but the guns were pretty good). For some reason Amagi guns spent a lot of time trolling me. I also remember a large amount of overpens, bounces, shatters, 0 damage pens and the like. I also can't stand Ashitaka (my nickname for it is - replace "as" with "bull" in it's name and you get it) - basically the old stock Amagi, at least they gave her the better AP shells now but it's still pretty bad, and I'm not fond of Kii, either.

Uhh the OP was about removing the caps on the amount of CV's allowed per side when forming teams, not about removing capture points.

Wait, so an assumption that it'll be fine because some people won't use it doesn't fill you with confidence? I though it was such a great way to argue the merits of a new system being introduced -
I honestly doubt this would help with hosho 'clubbers, you don't actually need that many points in it to farm newcomers with ease.

Nobody forces people to invest in pyramid or ponzi schemes, either. It's the shady communication that obfuscates key parts to bait people into a situation where they either take a loss or pay through the nose that's at the core of the issue. This event was purposefully designed to bait people in. OFC nobody was forced to opt in, I, for example, haven't, but a lot of people went "oh I'll just get one booster and easily grind the rest" based on WG's news announcements and prior experience with directives. Once they did that, they were in a "pay a lot more or say goodbye to your initial investment" kind of situation. This was obviously designed that way, as well - keep in mind that WG only relented and offered refunds after a giant uproar - they initially refused to do this. Just go look up S_O's initial post about this that was highly disrespectful. Earl Gray, a person who was on their actual payroll, was actually laid off now because of how hard he was trolling the community on twitter. If the community just laid back and took it, he'd still be here trolling us and nobody would have been refunded. Instead, people got their refunds and he trolled himself out of a job. Good riddance, I say, there's a positive change if I've ever seen one. This is why complaints and criticism are constructive. Sure, point out the positives too, but criticism is here to help diagnose and fix problems, people need to get out of the naive mindset of "this is negativity so it it's bad". It's not, and it's not.

Name one developer who have broken more promises than WG.
Captain_Newman replied to Blixies's topic in General Discussion
WG could have avoided a lot of the criticism if they just learned to communicate properly. Games like this change constantly or go stale and stop existing. This is why "there will never be _____" or "this will be like it is forever" sentences are a no-no. So.. "There will never be a ship with bigger guns than Yamato" is a dumb thing to say. Imagine if instead, they said "there are no plans to introduce a ship with bigger - than -460mm - guns for the time being". Years later you introduce a 6 barrel, 510mm Yamato that doesn't really do anything relevant the Yammi doesn't in terms of overmatch, but pays for it with a far lower volume of shells and low shell velocity? Nobody bats an eye. "There are no current plans to remove the availability of Missouri for the time being" is better than "she is here to stay, just get her at your own pace". "Subs aren't being considered at the moment" is better than "subs don't fit our game, it's never going to happen". I'm surprised something as big as WG makes these rookie mistakes when it comes to PR, honestly. -
Absolutely agreed with @quickr here. We get upset because we actually like the game and have concerns about WG's direction killing it by chasing away a critical mass of players. OP, you're missing a few points. On PR: people weren't upset that it was grindy. They were upset because the event was set up to lure you into spending money on the PR without even realizing you're sitll not very likely to get it, so now you're in this sunken cost fallacy situation where, if you're not in a situation where you can play your behind off during the holidays every day, you need to drop a lot more money or see your initial investment go to waste. Coupled with misleading articles and announcements published before the event, this was a blatantly scummy bait and switch event. Protip, people don't like being scammed. Posts made by Sub_Octavian and Earl Gray which were downright insulting to the community just poured gasoline on that fire. OP ships - the problem isn't any OP ship by itself, in my book, but the constant power creep it creates. New resource ships / premiums are being released at an alarming rate, many of them OP. With an increasing number of overpowered ships in the game, you get an effect where old ships that used to be considered good fall completely out of the meta. Another bad thing: we all noticed an increased number of roflstomp matches (where one side just gets annihilated in a few min). This is what you get when you combine a mostly potato player base with increasingly more powerful ships. End result? Less fun for everyone. Which is a shame, fun should be the primary function of any game, no? Now, yes, community does like to overreact sometimes, but we all know what the internet is like. A smart developer would know how to play around that and avoid bad situations. WG just seems to march straight into them, and then has these geniuses actually go out of their way to troll the community as well. Respect is earned is all I'm saying.

Yesterday I went to play low tier a bit after a long time, just to see what it's like atm. I didn't even realize how bad it is with all the CV's. Holy crap, there's almost always more CV's in q than anything else.. getting just 1 CV per side is a miracle, it's almost always at least 2. A lot of them being seal clubbing Hoshos, ofc. In what universe is this good? WG, you realize that if your new players have to go through hordes of seal clubbing Hoshos, your chances of actually retaining these players long enough to make some money off of them drops, right? They kind of need to get through these tiers which are an absolute s**tshow right now. On the bright side, most of those clubbers are kind of bad and have bad stats in anything but their t4 farm machines, so you can usually ruin their games, but new players are going to have an absolutely horrible time with them. Honestly, just nerf the t4 CV's, Hosho in particular. If it stops being this easy to farm with they'll likely stop doing it, these people are after no-skill thrills, make a ship require skill to do well in and they'll move on.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Captain_Newman replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
My second SW Top scored while uptiered +2, this was a pretty narrow win and a hard carry. Managed to kill a Helena and a Guepard with torps, then block a cap for points juust long enough for us to win. I never enjoyed being reported more... that was some premium salt right there. -

Let's do a fair assumption, then: People getting torped the most (straight lining bb players with 0 awareness) will be the ones most likely to slot this. Fair? Tell me, who do you think most torp damage comes from? Because it's not from hits on unicums. -
I find myself going offtopic with you once again, but I just wanted to say - I'm very sorry to hear about your health issues, and fingers crossed on the experimental meds getting you out of this. Best of luck, and hang in there. Hope to argue with you many times more over various offtopic and irrelevant issues in the future :)
