    Did you misunderstand what he wrote? The two statements you just quoted are mutually consistent. Both mean that a tier higher ship doesn't necessarily have to be better in every stat category than it's lower tier counterpart.

    With Sansonetti's improved torpedo acceleration you get 63kt, 10.8km range torps. It might not be a torpedo cruiser, but these stats actually move them out of the sea mine category and into usable. They're a secondary weapon, anyway, it's all about the guns.

    While there are situations where you miss the torps on the Gorizia, hydro synergizes with it's SAP - the ammo that nukes DD's - much better than torps do. Let's not forget it's the really good 6km german hydro, as well. Overall, played right, Gorizia has more carry potential than the Zara ever did.

    Agreed. I used to prefer playing t10, lately I've found myself saying "ok, can we please not do t10 for a few battles" more and more to my clan mates when we repeatedly get glue connoiseurs that make our backs hurt. And that's when it's actually possible to carry, which even in a 3 man division can't be done far too often. Sometimes I'd rather be uptiered +2 in a t7 boat then play another t10 match. When I get sufficiently annoyed at the player base I just take my gremy out which I dropped from a box this christmas. It's a nice tool to let some steam out by murdering everyone. Kamikaze sealclubbers on the enemy team? Get clubbed in return, murdered in 3-4 salvos. Sometimes you need these lower tier derp fests to maintain your sanity...

    Game crash, disconnects

    Everyone from the balkan region countries have been suffering from regular disconnects ever since the christmas patch hit. What happens is, ping goes to -35, ship becomes uncontrollable, the game then disconnects, and both the game and all WG related websites (wows site, forum..) are unavailable for anything between 30s to a few min (usually enough to ruin your game). During these outages, our connections remain stable - the rest of the internet, voice comms , other games, everything except wows and wows related stuff works fine. I was forced to resort to using VPN in order to get around these issues, and while VPN usage can bring other issues (depending on server load you route through, you might get some ping spikes here and there), but I've effectively traded disconnecting outright for the occasional ping spike that does keep me in the game, which is a trade I'll happily make. Thanks to Flambass (who is from Croatia) we've been able to determine that these outages all happen at the same time for everyone. WG still claims this is on our ends. Don't be surprised when they do it again. I've had their CM's claim it's not widespread and not on their end despite all I've just said. Let's just say I'm skeptical.

    I find fridays after work hours are horrible on EU. Weekends are bad enough but friday afternoons, good luck not getting a team that gets pushed into a single map corner and murdered. Literally worse than bots. Last friday I've had several team mates that were below 40% overall WR. We're talking 38-39 range. This is worse than they should be doing if they were afk every game. Dunno, maybe I just get unlucky on that day but fridays after work are something I'm starting to avoid. Also, late night ships is something I'd heavily advise against. Almost always a horrible experience.

    Not really. If you attack only when there's reason, you look credible. If you just do it whenever regardless of having a reason or not, you make it that much easier for them to dismiss you.

    I don't think videos done by WG or anyone else would be enough, if you wanted a system that tries to raise the quality of gameplay, that system would need to be built into the game itself. The problem with "how to" videos is that they address the part of the player population that is already interested enough to improve to have looked them up. These people are not the problem - they are putting in the effort to learn and improve, and they would have found videos that help them do that regardless of them being published by WG itself or some CC. The problem is the "JuSt FoR fUn" crowd that is unwilling to put any effort in. This is why I always heavily disagree when someone presents the notion that the economy should be made even easier than it is; it's already extremely forgiving, and it's entirely possible to fail your way to top tiers very easily. The game needs to be designed to incentivize learning and improvement, and as we've seen, merely giving out more credits and xp for better performance isn't enough of an incentive for most of the player base that seems content just sailing around shooting at stuff and admiring pretty explosions.

    To be the devil's advocate for a moment here, the game in which the Hindi originally had it's dpm nerfed and the game we have now are two entirely different things. Hindi got powercrept heavily since then, as the bar for what constitutes a strong ship keeps on rising.

    Problem found. (Smolensk's armor is so paper it gets overpenetrated when broadside. By angling you gave the shells enough "meat" to activate in.)

    We'll have to agree to disagree, then. Pointing out to problems is the first step in fixing them. Subjective. A vast majority of reactions would disagree with you. Similarly, if I were to respond with "you just don't have a sense of humor", that would be an equally subjective comment and as such, impossible to prove and thus not useful to the discussion. The fact you don't find something funny literally means nothing, but thanks for the input. Nice false equivalency, though. I don't think you really understood the point of the thread, but have a nice day and thanks for your input, regardless

    Best hydro in the game has 6km range. If you have awareness and positioning they can't push you that close without you seeing it first. The new module they're proposing that bypasses torpedo stealth, though, now that's something to complain about. Hydro's fine.

    Might have something to do with the fact they all get farmed by sealclubber Hoshos when they hit t3-4, and can find no way to counter that? Crazy thought, I know. Couldn't possibly be true as it would mean WG did something wrong and is blatantly ignoring the issue despite it having been there for quite some time...

    Not just that, it's also harder to play DD's too. The best way to know how to fight other ships is to understand how they play - what their strengths and limitations are. The very best way of gaining said knowledge is to play them.

    Nice effort and I loved reading the historical aspects of it. In my humble opinion though, more CV's is the last thing this game needs, unless CV players want to only have each other to farm in the future...

    Yup, in general, going mid under the funnels, or under turrets is a good bet. There are differences: some citadels are quite high and exposed, some are covered by turtleback, some are completely underwater... Some have very specific weak spots, such as the Yama sisters with their cheeks. The issue is, with all the different armor segments around the citadel, seeing this on the fly in game while you're actually fighting wouldn't really work, you need time to study the armor profile in port, tunring on and off different segments, in order to understand it.
