It doesn't. Feel free to check for yourself.

WoWs v0.9.3 - Changes in the Armory (No more "Smolensk")!

I had the same thought, but figured the community doesn't need me to encourage them where complaining is concerned, and it'll come soon enough on it's own

    Give Karma an actual purpose

Maybe like this? Negative karma: only possible to be assigned by the players if the player has team killed. If the player is reported multiple times for misbhehavior in chat, which then leads to an automatic 3 day chat ban, karma is deducted automatically. If the chat ban is manual and for a longer duration, more karma is deducted manually by the people instituting the ban. Karma can also manually be deduced by support if the player is repeatedly reported for afk and it's determined it wasn't due to technical difficulties. Positive karma: only possible if scoring among the top 3 on the winning, or top place on the losing team. If the player scores above 2.8k basexp, karma is added automatically. Just thinking about making it much harder to get reported by salty people or clueless teammates for no reason, but on balance you can't just farm it without having actually performed well, at which point you deserve it anyway.

WoWs v0.9.3 - Changes in the Armory (No more "Smolensk")!

"They may come back later" almost always means, christmas boxes. Creating these unobtainable ships, then putting them in the boxes increases their lootbox revenue quite a lot. Who doesn't want to drop a strong / broken exclusive ship that isn't otherwise obtainable anymore?

Same. So it's fine to remove them now

Good choice, Georgia is awesome. I was debating with myself for the longest time whether to get her or not, questioning if I'd actually like a 6-rifled battleship, but she turned out to be one of the most fun ship I've played.

WoWs v0.9.3 - Changes in the Armory (No more "Smolensk")!

That's one unfortunate step for the individual who missed the smol, but one giant leap for the community. Smolensk can't be removed soon enough. Thunderer should join it, as well.

These special captains that came with the new PA ships keep making me want the ManBearPig from South Park as a special captain

WoWs v0.9.3 - Changes in the Armory (No more "Smolensk")!

I was expecting it. She's very strong, very popular, and has been available for quite some time. I'm actually surprised it hasn't happened already.

WoWs v0.9.3 - Changes in the Armory (No more "Smolensk")!

TBH I wish these removals would happen right now, because Smolensk. Then again, the only way to remove the Smolensk from the armory in time is to use a DeLorean at this point. So, I guess I'll skip on the Black and just get her for coal at some point down the line, then. And I guess I'm grinding coal for Marceau... The only question remaining, then, do I go for Bourgogne now, or see if Yashima will be worth it... Kind of leaning towards Bourgogne since I much prefer the mobile mid range BB gameplay, rather than static long range one.

    Give Karma an actual purpose

My initial thoughts on this were that having karma influence rewards would open doors to all sorts of abuse. I was going to write a post detailing why this is would never work and why it'll never happen, but then I started to think about it from different angles, and started thinking that in this situation, wouldn't more people be inclined to not act like absolute tw*ts in chat, or actually try to learn how to be helpful to their team, as in - avoid behavior that leads to being reported. In addition, less people might report because they're salty after being outplayed, because there's always a chance the person they reported will have a failry good idea who did it, and report them back in turn? Example: you've just played a good DD game where you capped, spotted, scored well, nobody had any reason to complain. Nothing too out of the ordinary happened, one highlight being you rpf torped and killed an enemy DD without it ever being spotted. After the battle your karma decreased by 1. Not hard to deduce who it was... This doesn't help with the lowest common denominator-type player, but then nothing helps with those. Perhaps the issue of karma farming could be alleviated somewhat by introducing a few additional rules - you can't earn karma below t5, and it can't be given by clan mates, or you can't receive karma more than once a week/month from the same person, etc. In general, I'd say the carrot works better than the stick when trying to motivate the player base to actually engage brain while playing, and act with some basic levels of decency while doing so. So, don't get me wrong, I still doubt that this will happen, and find a system that relies on points given by random people on the internet highly problematic, but perhaps a carrot method like this could be employed to try and address some of the toxicity and bad / clueless / selfish gameplay that's been going on. Another reason I love this suggestion is, it'd reduce the CV population

I know it was wrong but...

I don't think it works that way, as in, you can't try to get a t9 in a t6 game by divisioning with a t8. It only works upwards, afaik.
  13. Captain_Newman

I know it was wrong but...

t8/9 mix isn't really a fail division, since you will end up in t10 games with a t8 often enough, anyway. It's not the same as, say, t7 divisioning with t8's and ending up in t10, that's a proper fail div. Definitely not what I'd call an optimal division, though.

I know it was wrong but...

Usually when the reds do this, I'm in a cruiser that performs best when the enemy is pushing. Instead all you get is, you keep sailing towards them, yet they're still out of range and sailing away the whole game. Yesterday this happened to me in Nueve de Julio. 13.6km range, land of fire, t9, enemy team all sailing to map edge. These kinds of games just nuke your damage average...

    Wukong and Baije

At a guess, he saw that, and wanted confirmation that it wasn't an oversight. TBH, the special captains should be included in the already high price, especially since they neither have special voice acting nor special talents or improved skills (I dropped a Bajie from a container, it came with the captain, it's literally just a unique portrait and name).

Thunderer - The Best Tier X Battleship?

You don't need to prove to me the Thunderer is too strong, as I've said multiple times I feel like you're arguing with me over a claim I'm not making. Might have to agree to disagree over which ship is more broken, but both are definitely in the wtf category. I just feel like getting high damage numbers takes less skill in the Smol than in Thunderer. Smolensk's stats have predictably decreased, most notably it's winrate, because more people have been getting it; keep in mind that Smolensk came out before Thunderer, and every potato and his grandmother wanted the Smolensk to get those easy damage numbers, then getting 40k damage games in it, somehow. Atm the Smolensk has over 4 times more battles than the Thunderer does on the server - over 1.3 million games played in it, compared to Thunderer's 300-something k. And overall, it was probably the better players that acquired it first. Thunderer stats will go down with time, as well. But, as I said, both are broken. I just find Smolensk a bit brainless due to the dpm, smoke, torps, hydro, range, fire chance, and overpen fiesta when being shot.

It seems some people won't be happy unless AA is removed entirely... WG, nerf Bogatyr AA please.

Thunderer - The Best Tier X Battleship?

Nobody is arguing that. I would add that Smolensk needs to be more squishy than it is. If it has that dpm, it has to be at least as easy to cit as the Minotaur is. That doesn't make the Thunderer balanced, and I personally don't know anyone who ever said it was.
  19. Captain_Newman

Thunderer - The Best Tier X Battleship?

Saying that Smolensk is more broken than Thunderer and saying that Thunderer is fair and balanced are two very, very different things.

Thunderer - The Best Tier X Battleship?

@Bunny_Lover_Kallen opting not to quote you, that'd be one large quote Just wanted to say that in general I agree that the Thunderer shouldn't get off scott free, it's definitely silly how strong the guns, and everything about them from turret traverse to reload to pen, are. I do think, however, that strong as it is, the Thunderer at least pays some kind of price for having those guns - as in, they're mounted on a pretty squishy hull by t10 BB standards. This means it's owner does need to have a brain, and know how to position, which target to select, and which ammo to use. That's a far cry from a "sit in smoke and spam HE at anything in range, if a BB catches you dw comrade, it's overpen city" Smolensk, still. Smolensk gets insane DPM, range (for a light cruiser with 130's), fire chance, smoke, torpedoes, hydro, decent concealment (I didn't even spec into CE on mine), and what price does it pay to get all that? Not much at all. So, yea, Thunderer is very strong, Smolensk is just "Balans, Comrade".
  21. They really need to bring Dynamo, Cherry Blossom and Hermes back, at least. So much good work just wasted. Yet another victim of the glorious reeework.

Tips on playing the Emile Bertin

St. Louis is and always was good. Henri needs some adaptation in playstyle now - as in, you can't cockroach at maximum range just throttle juking every shell, but need to actually make standard kiting maneuvers. Yes, imho they nerfed the acceleration too hard, but it was way too trolly before, it's not like it didn't need some attention, and we all know WG balances things with a sledgehammer if it isn't russian. I'd still say you're not wasting time if you decide to grind this line.

Can you fix Tirpitz waterline already pls?

This is very important to fix - especially because german BB players are pretty much always broadside to as many enemies as they can find, making this issue more visible.

Sadly, I'm doubtful that was sarcasm given the whole array of ships he listed there.

I know, right? It can be pretty infuriating. Luckily, I have my revenge machine in port - the Gremy citadels them all, no problem. Had a game yesterday in it where I AP cit-killed 3 cruisers in one game in it. Git balans'd
