    Cunningham Tokens progression so far?

I was lucky enough to drop a Surrey from the bundles, so when the CA's came out of early access I already had enough XP on it to just buy the Albemarle instantly, which definitely helped with the token grind. I did the 3rd directive yesterday, so I've got a bit over 800 tokens, I can't check the exact amount just yet. Should be able to get Cunningham immediately once I get the 4th directive done.

    Info regarding the exclusive Camoflages

Take the advice of someone who bought a bunch of t10 permacamos before - don't. Tech tree ships are subject to constant nerfs. I have several t10's in my port I rarely play, some because I don't really enjoy them, others because they've been nerfed hard. The nerfs usually coincide with a release of a premium (reward) version of the ship for fxp/coal/steel that is essentially a buffed pre-buff variant, and those, once you grind them, come with their own permacamos, anyway. I'm just happy I never bought a YueYang permacamo...

☆ Solution to the CV problem! ★

TBH I'm used to them, in the same way you get used to an uncomfortable shoe that you went to work with and now just kinda have to deal with it for the day. Don't get me wrong, I'm not screaming bloody murder here, most DD's that died to CV's early have misplayed heavily (because much like CV players, most DD players are trash). I just enjoy non-CV matches more, and don't think it's a well designed and balanced class is all. I take breaks when I get fed up in general, CV's will remain their annoying selves whether I take a break or not so doing it just because of them is kind of pointless.

☆ Solution to the CV problem! ★

Effective removal of stealth in a game that relies on spotting, ambushes, flanking maneuvers is bad for the game. Using terrain or your spotting advantage because you know how, you have awareness and skill, all made irrelevant if there's a CV. Yes, my own "feelings" are that I enjoy non-CV matches far more. A personal belief - game would be way more fun without them entirely. And yes, I can play a DD, survive the whole match and top score in a double CV game, and I do that frequently, as long as the enemy CV's aren't unicums, and as you say, most are just bad. But even when they're bad, I find the match far less enjoyable with CV's around. Also, the fact that there's only counterplay if the enemy CV is bad, but it's ok because most are bad.. this is the definition of a badly designed class.

☆ Solution to the CV problem! ★

No, I'm not going to start investing the time needed to get good in a class I find mind numbingly boring to play just so I can prove something to WG that they clearly don't give a toss about. Also, implying that the class is OK because it does take some skill to play well (the "why don't you get unicum in it" argument) does not mean it's well balanced or good for the game. A 42%er may still lose the game, but he still has the capability to make your own game far less enjoyable and sometimes downright annoying without even trying or going for you. It's a terribly designed class that is objectively bad for the game that I find extremely boring to play myself, so I generally don't do it.

CVs need balancing here is my suggestion!

Subs won't counter CV's, quite the opposite. Can't have any counters to the god class, can we now...
  7. Captain_Newman

A strategy for countering CVs has been uncovered

Figuring it out and giving a flying coitus about it are two very different things.

Is there a link to see the european line of DDs?

I, for one, welcome our new IKEA overlords.

    minimap idea

Speaking of maps, could we have a feature that detects when you're far away from any objectives and automatically enlarges the map to cover most of your screen? Bonus points for an annoying sound effect playing when it happens as well.

    Dreadnought achievement

It wouldn't change a thing. This game already doesn't really punish you for dying in terms of service costs or credits, but people still camp map edges. If giving the enemy all caps and assuring defeat isn't enough to stop them from doing this, I doubt the "oh noes I won't get dreadnaught" will inspire them to suddenly become useful either. You can't fix stupid.

My Smolensk's guns despertly need servicing!

The fire chance of your shells (with DE, flags etc) isn't the same as the end fire chance that's calculated when the shell hits - each ship gets built-in fire resistance based on tier, then some of your targets will be running fire prevention too which further lowers the chance.. The one thing you can do on your end is try to make sure you're shooting at ship parts that aren't already on fire (if his mid section is already burning ,try to light up the bow/stern instead of spamming mid more, if he's running FP you won't get a fire as long as one's still burning there). That, and you might want to try and prioritize targets that aren't burning already / have just used DC.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Took a Giulio out yesterday. T6 game, Ryujo on enemy team. Ok, fine. First salvo I fire, I detonate the enemy DD. Shorthly thereafter, another becomes visible, we start focusing him, my salvo takes the last 5k off of him. Kill no. 2, all their DD's are gone. Good. As the game progresses, I delete 2 more cruisers and a BB. I now have Kraken, Confederate, High Caliber and about 120k damage, however, the interesting part: there are two very low hp enemy ships nearby (Kongo and Graf Spee), and I just started to hard spot a Ryujo at less than 9km as well. Not much on my team nearby that can shoot them. I'm thinking, oh boy, let's make this an 8 kill game... I shoot at the Ryujo once, score some cits, he's low.. and then he hits one AP bomb and detonates me Still won and top scored with about 2200 base or so, but man, would've been nice to get a 7-8 kill game again. 3 detonations in that game, btw, that Ryujo detonated two on my team. (Did I mention detonations are bs rng and can go die in a fire, same as cyclones?) Hilarious game. Didn't take screens, sorry.

Tier 5 gameplay with 3 CVs on either side

Don't get too excited about WG introducing soft caps, in my experience so far what they say they will do and what they actually end up doing are two different things. CV's need to be hard capped to 1 per team max, period.

See, that's a good topic. Should've started with that.

Some way of telling what you're on about that doesn't include having to watch a 24min video would be helpful.

Oh, Romanian tech trees will come. I believe right after the Czech CV and Lichtenstein submarine lines.

    Hayate for 2 Mil FExp?

Which is what they could do right now without touching IFHE at all. This is going to overcomplicate matters to an extreme.
  18. Captain_Newman

    Hayate for 2 Mil FExp?

They released the CV rework into live after a shockingly short and inadequate testing period. They said they'd never repeat that. Now they're doing the exact same thing with the IFHE rework. You can expect the same with subs. No, WG doesn't learn. You can apply that same logic to the case of Smaland and Hayate and you probably won't be far off of what actually happens. They've gone off the deep end in the last year, year and a half. They've melted away any respect I had for them as a company, tbh, they're just really disappointing in almost every way nowadays. The only part of WG I respect nowadays is the art department, regardless of the dumpster fires their bosses start, they consistently keep doing their usual level of great work. But their departments responsible for balancing, event design, marketing, financial decision making... can take nice long walks off of really short piers, as far as I'm concerned.
  19. Captain_Newman

    Hayate for 2 Mil FExp?

I was hoping for 1.2-1.3 million, but expected 1.5. As usual, WG surpassed my expectations in the worst way imaginable. Yea, I know the prices are not officially determined yet, and these are just on PTS, but let's be honest here - this is WG getting us used to them to try and avoid a s**tstorm when they're officially released, betting that people will have grown tired complaining about this by the time the ships are released.
  20. Albemarle has that flat booty that will eat shells all day. But technicalities aside, all you need to remember when playing the Albemarle is this: - you can't tank BB's. At all. Forget about angling. Your bow and stern armor get overmatched easily by almost every BB you will ever see, and the citadel protection behind them is inadequate to say the least. You need to not get hit by them. If you do, you will eat massive damage. It's an annoying feature on a cruiser that's supposed to be an agressive push-ship, but it is what it is. The good heal helps a bit, but tbh it needs it just to stay afloat. On the other hand, you'll happily outtrade most same tier cruisers in a gun fight. I still do pretty ok in the Albemarblehead, but you do have to keep in mind that she tends to stop existing if BB's look at her wrong. Top tier, she's just fine most of the time. It's when I get like two enemy Kremlins on the enemy side of my flank that I get a bit annoyed. It can't really do much to them... and to even shoot at them I need to be inside suicide range of their guns.
  21. Liquidators are almost impossible ever since they nerfed floodings (and had the nerve to claim it's actually a buff cuz hurr durr you can get two of them now simultaneously). You'll literally get Solo Warrior more often than Liquidator now. Because that makes sense in the magical land of Balans they seem to live in.

The concerning direction that Directives are taking

Stop crying when there's no need to, WG gives us plenty of legit reasons to complain, when you whine about this stuff it makes you easy to dismiss. Why? Because these directives are easy and basically do themselves from normal gameplay. You don't need all 9, you just need 4. Most are doable in coop. Just stop complaining about stupid stuff. Of course most people won't get the 3 dev strikes in one battle one, but so what? There's 8 more in that one to choose from, and the reward for it isn't that amazing either, so who cares? The really annoying part for me are these daily missions that have token rewards as well. Some days I just don't feel like doing enough battles for all of them (and this is with me winning the vast majority of the battles I'm in lately). The annoying part is that you need to grind them every single day if you want all the tokens. I wish the tokens were all just tied to directives and daily shipments instead, so once I've done the directives I can play less if I don't feel like tryharding on any particular day.

    Naval Legends: B-413

Russian cruiser line split with stealth radar. Russian t10 bb basically the best in the game. Russian Smolensk with "no armor best armor" that doesn't get punished and has smoke, torps, hydro, and the dumbest dpm and fire chance combo in the game. When the Royal Navy gets a line split we see two additional premium ships added. When the russians get a split the premiums blot out the sun. Articles on russian stuff. Yea, we get it, you're russians. Can you stop being ridiculous now? Thanks.

WG: Hows the bot detection going?

I made a ticket about an obvious bot account yesterday. Support's response basically read like they thought I was complaining about a bad player being abusive in chat (which I was not, I explained in clear and simple terms why I thought this person is running a bot), told me that there's automatic reports for that, but also assured me that "the appropriate actions have been taken". Just checked his account. These are his recents basically just from today: So, as usual, these kinds of people are allowed to keep ruining games, and support has reading comprehension difficulties. Or would have them if they actually bothered to read the contents of tickets we create. WG, any chance of hiring people for your support service that have basic reading comprehension skills?

    Smaland cost

They weren't concerned about shafting us with LM's in RB right after the PR event, or about announcing a whole line split of magical napkin bias cruisers with railguns and stealth radar. They're either clueless or cynical enough to not care, because as the community rages about each dumpster fire, they're still laughing their way to the bank.
