Yes, I'd like to own an account that has Enterprise, Gremy, Kamikaze, Belfast, Missouri, Kutuzov and Smolensk. Oh wait... ...I already do. Joking aside, OP: the only legal way to obtain the Enterprise is to go balls to the wall on buying christmas boxes and hope it drops. Expect to spend a lot, but I'm guessing you're ok with that since buying another account with it probably wouldn't be cheap, either. Seriously though, expect this thread to get locked fast, what you want is against the rules.

Why does wargaming not fix the reporting system?
Captain_Newman replied to Wuxang's topic in General Discussion
I had one chat ban in total (over 11k battles and counting). Thank you for explaining to me where it came from. I’ve seen overbearing idiots who thought they knew what people should do when they don’t. They’re the ones who don’t shut up the entire battle. I’ve also seen plenty of people explain what and why for a certain map (especially when someone asks for the plan). Then they go on with their game, if the team listened great, if it didn’t, they still try to win and move on. Saying everyone offering advice is an overbearing idiot that needs to be reported is a gross exaggeration. -
This player base cannot handle Defense of Naval Station Newport
Captain_Newman replied to Gnolfus's topic in General Discussion
If I try Newport alone, I tend to bring in a CV (Ark Royal works well, but any other CV will work). This lets me spot everything early which lets the team know where the enemy are coming from, and also lets me focus and early remove certain targets like DD’s - I don’t trust random teammates to not eat bot torps so removing bot DD’s before they’re in range helps. You’re right though, most random teammates can’t handle this one at all. -
Why does wargaming not fix the reporting system?
Captain_Newman replied to Wuxang's topic in General Discussion
As long as you had fun and who cares about the 11 other people in your team, some of which may have put in serious skill and effort to win, only to have the JuStFoRfUn crowd take that effort and flush it down the toilet. This is not a single player game, it’s a team-based multiplayer game, where your actions affect others. Either stop being selfish and actually work with your team, treating them as humans and not bots, or go coop / something single player where every NPC will tell you that you’re the greatest. Nothing wrong with that. Reporting people that just offered well meant advice because they dared address you.. c’mon. The time of pharaohs is long gone, and acting like one in this day and age is ridiculous. -
Cherry Blossom was great, yes. Instead of a night map, how about a separate night mode, with slightly altered mechanics (higher stealth for everyone, bigger gun bloom penalty, perhaps ability to launch flares for some ships, which illuminate a part of the map where they were launched etc). They could just use exisiting maps and add night mode.

If I had a penny for every time either of those things happened... A part of the problem is that CV play is still pretty disconnected from the rest of the team, so most CV players aren’t really used to considering what their team mates are doing. At least the first one comes from good intentions, as silly as it is. The second one us truly annoying - check if your targets are being torped and please don’t make the enemy ship dodge like 60-80k of damage just so you can put 6k worth of aerial torp damage in...

Why does wargaming not fix the reporting system?
Captain_Newman replied to Wuxang's topic in General Discussion
Reporting annoying people who are abusive, use chat commands or pings excessively etc is one thing, but reporting people merely suggesting proper map tactics (probably because they saw teams fail doing the same thing the current one is countless times) is pretty toxic. Nice irony there, though. People open to advice usually at least have positive win rates after over 8k battles; they don’t think they know best, which opens up the possibility of improvement for them. Something to consider, perhaps... -
YES WG WILL CHANGE RANKED YESS!!!!!
Captain_Newman replied to albin322's topic in General Discussion
Yes, but I suppose that’s what CB are for Not all that hungry for steel tbh, I’ve got the steel ships I was actually interested in already, it was a bad argument on my part. I just really dislike a system where I can lose progress but that same progress is largely tied to mm rng. Some days you literally can’t roll a team that doesn’t instantly fall apart, it seems. But dw about it, just my opinion, perfectly fine to disagree -
Actually, this was already answered in the post above yours: New tech tree ships can get accessed faster by more experienced, better players who get better WR and higher base xp on average, resulting in them grinding a line much faster as it takes them less battles to get there than someone who loses a lot and often has basexp in the 500-700 range on a win. This results in new tech tree ships starting out with a higher WR initially, and then it drops as the average and potato crowd get there. This isn’t conjecture, we see this happen every time, meaning that using initial stats is a poor judge of op-ness.

Had exactly the same experience in randoms with it. Personally I hate the combo of being as large as Syberia with about as much stealth, clumsiness, low dpm and exposed citadel on a cruiser. Rather be in a Thunderer, then. But that’s randoms. Also, thanks, you too. Yes, it was a combination of being burnt out and later not being able to play, courtesy of an earthquake that meant I had to temporarily move out while the damage gets repaired. This extended my absence to... probably about half a year or something. Just 2020 doing it’s thing, I suppose. Good to be back, though!

Ah, a voice of reason. It is precisely because of this that I don’t even consider Stalin OP - what I’m sure will be an unpopular opinion. Strong, yes, but it has significant weaknesses. Caught broadside her citadel gets obliterated easily, combine this with being spotted from the moon means that it’s actually fairly easy to mess up and overcommmit to a position you won’t be able to leave. Sure, in smaller teams in competitive she’s very strong, but tbh in randoms, meh, I’d rather bring almost anything else. OP, if you’re having a problem with stalingrads, I’d suggest not giving them broadside and you’ll be fine. If you’re a DD, don’t blunder into it’s radar without being able to quickly escape (aka radar baiting), and keep it spotted while launching torps at it if you can. I guarantee you she’ll get focused if she’s spotted, people are still hysterical about this ship and love to focus it, and after sustained he fire she will go down.

Can we have a Battlestar Galactica collab instead? A camo for Midway that has you launching viper mk2’s after Adama ordered the launch of alert Vipers might actually make me play CV’s
-
No, but most are... *me running into one in my Smaland / Daring / something else with radar or hydro. Asashio: turns, stops, smokes up, tries to torp me. me: thankful to the Asashio for that smoke as I can now take him apart from total stealth without spending one of my own. This happens quite often, it’s incredible how many still don’t understand what their deepwaters can or cannot hit, or that smoking up in close proximity of something that has radar or hydro just helps the enemy to kill you without taking fire themselves.

YES WG WILL CHANGE RANKED YESS!!!!!
Captain_Newman replied to albin322's topic in General Discussion
Can’t farm steel there, but nm. Let’s agree to disagree and leave it at that. A 2 smolensk division wouldn’t be very strong, you’d want two ships that synergize well. I’d be more worried if I saw a Daring / Smolensk div, tbh. If anything, two guys that thought both of them taking Smolensks was a good idea probably aren’t very good to begin with. Moving on, though. Agreed on the rest - cutting off ranked during “low activity periods” to ensure “quality mm” is a load of horse manure and removes the option to avoid glue connoisseurs , as well as shafts people who work night shifts. It’s pure idiocy and I’d really like to know what the actual reasoning behind it is, because it sure as s**t isn’t “quality mm”. After playing this game for years, the one thing I can say for WG with absolute certainty is that they don’t care about the quality of mm one bit. -

Captain_Newman replied to albin322's topic in General Discussion
And I saw Smolensks get dev struck from full health. Because something can happen, doesn’t mean it happens every time, or often. I get why people are against divisions in ranked, I do. But it’s so boring having to go at it solo.. and I’m really not a fan being this reliant on mm rng. -

You would be amazed what two good players can do. If a div is composed of a couple of 40-something percenters, then yea, it won't have carry potential. -
YES WG WILL CHANGE RANKED YESS!!!!!
Captain_Newman replied to albin322's topic in General Discussion
I mean, you're not wrong, but it's already like that when playing solo when enemy gets a unicum or two and you get your obligatory SE yamato and a z52 that dies to torps in the first 2 min... At least if you can bring a competent team mate there's a better chance to carry. -
YES WG WILL CHANGE RANKED YESS!!!!!
Captain_Newman replied to albin322's topic in General Discussion
You can just mirror it. Say, allow each team to have up to two 2-man divisions, and it mirrors - as in, if one team gets 1 division, the other one gets one too, etc. Haven't they done something along those lines for sprint already? -
You make it sound like win rate is entirely rng dependent. RNG is a factor, but the higher the amount of battles, the less of a factor it plays. If someone loses 5 battles in a row, it's entirely possible they just had bad luck. If they lose 15-20 in a row, eh.. probably something more than rng at play here. I'd say the advice given is good: when you lose 3 in a row, go take a break - all those losses in a row will likely stress you out and you'll end up playing worse as a result, helping to cause more defeats. While a player is "just" one of 12, if you know how to play your ship effectively you're already a cut above average and can influence the outcome of the match more than some realize. For example, if you're a DD that is able to survive until the end of the match while doing his job (spotting, capping, killing other DD's, etc), your influence on the outcome of that match is way more than 1/12. This is the difference between someone with wr below 50% vs. a very good or a unicum player. The higher WR on the part of the unicum isn't higher because of rng, it's higher precisely because they are able to influence the match for much more than 1/12 most of the time.

YES WG WILL CHANGE RANKED YESS!!!!!
Captain_Newman replied to albin322's topic in General Discussion
Still no divisions allowed (because depending on rng to not roll an uncarriable team is fun, apparently), and having seasons happen one after another will get annoying fast. Yes, you can just skip them, but it's still annoying. I do like the idea of a league system, but I'll have to see how that'll work when it's live before really seeing if it's good or bad. Overall, meh. Let me have at least one division mate so there's a chance to carry when I roll those SE GK's that somehow still manage to die in the first 2 min. -

But comrade, those shift workers will experience the full benefit of this system that is implemented to "ensure quality matchmaking"... by preventing them from playing ranked at all.. -
Or just grind the Anchorage

I'm not disputing that, it's just that using the Georgia to get better results in coop feels a bit like buying a brand new 911 Turbo just to get to the nearby grocery store and back... yes you'll get there faster and in style, but it's still overkill to use that car just for that. Any bb works fine in coop as people in front of you will spot and your guns have the range to blap from a distance. But this is really derailing the topic, and tbh I don't care much for coop, it's boring but useful to quick farm some stuff in (ex: anniversary containers).
-
Nonsense. If you're playing Georgia as a long range sniper you're doing it wrong. The ship excels at getting into flank-ambush positions and pummeling the enemy at mid range, and late game closing in and finishing them off. Yes, occasionally you'll take some max range shots, but that's not what you should be aiming to do most of the time. Personally, I had a blast in the Georgia, but fun is subjective so making claims on which ship is more fun is a thankless task.
-
As I said, Pommern is better at brawling. However, in the current meta being good at brawling isn't the most desirable distinction a ship could have, and the Georgia is better at everything else. Won't get into discussions on what's better for coop, because, well, it's coop, it's not like you need a special resource ship to be successful there. Personally, between the two, I'd go with Georgia every time.
