So.... i understand the motives and the reasons behind this decision, however with all due respect ,I think is wrong. I agree that game related discussions should not be derailed into other directions , but given what's happening around us.....it is kinda inevitable. I would suggest to open a discussion thread, perhaps in the offtopic section, with the mandatory requirement to remain civil. I think a place for the community to discuss matters, is badly needed, because, even if this is a gaming forum, it is also a place for the community to gather . With some rules like no linking to external sources, I think it would be doable? While this is not a democracy, it is a community.

    Nelson coming to Lighthouse Auction

Well....I have her on both my accounts, so........ She was good when Narai and certainly helped to train Rn caps. But there other more fun ships to play now (Strass, Weimar, KM BC) so......yeah ....

Erm.......this is not an excuse. It is a human thing, desiring fun. This is a game remember? What you consider fun is not necessarily equals other people's fun. For example I don't like Cv's. But some people have no problem playing them and wrecking other people's fun in the process. And some other people come up with all sort of mental exercises in order to defend them, Right? Edit: Otherwise you wanted an explanation. And I gave one to you. Even if that's not what I actually do. 20220405_084328_PRSC210-Pr-84-Alexander-Nevsky_19_OC_prey.wowsreplay This is a game which I just played. If you watch it you will see that I busted my [edited]to win, to no avail.

I never claimed that. But then again..... You know what the players want? Having FUN. Staying foot and shooting at things is fun. Of course doesn't contribute to the objectives, ergo to the win, but......it is fun. Going forward and being subjected to all sorts of "mechanics" which not even the better part of the player base understands nor can deal with .....is not. As you can see its not rocket science.

So.... lemme explain a bit. Fancy words first. Increasing the lethality of the tools and their variety in the field will not result in increased dynamism of the game, it will only result in shorter games and steamrolls. Because this game is a PvP tactical shooter. All the fancy theory crafting is worth exactly sh#t because this game is not a board game, nor a chess game. Now the 5 year old explanation. Like I said this game is a PvP tactical shooter. What that means? People drive various vehicles and shoot at each other in order to deal damage. in order to do that, they have to stay alive, as long as possible. Obviously a destroyed vehicle can't deal any damage, right? Well.... we gonna exclude Cv's from this, because Cvs don't fit in this game. Now lets take as an example, the average Joe cap. Logs in every other day and plays... 5 games. He.... reasonably could shoot his guns, helm his ship and occasionally he checks the minimap. Also he could deal with other surface ships, again with various success rate. He.... kinda learned how to do that in time .Then we introduce Cv's into this equation, just the regular ones. Nobody can deal with Cv's the best outcome is to make himself an unattractive target to him in order to survive. One of the (quite recommended !!)methods is to blob up. That won't result in more dynamism, it would result in less. Now we introduce, subs and also at the same time superships, ...all elements with which the average Joe have no clue how to deal with, and them being continuously in "testing" a LOT of other players above average Joe also have no clue, let alone being even possible. so quite naturally the first instinct is..... to play BeeGees. Ya know......."Stayin' alive" Yo, one of the threads is yours, lolz. The singled out comment is a very good write up, summarizing how many problems exists with just the subs. And you are suggesting that...... there is any kind of meta? Or....... that there should be one ?? Yo......wazz are U talkin about??.

Fun tier 6 premium ships for operations?

Well I'm cruiser main and I play a LOT of ops. I have DeGrasse on both my accounts. She is a fun ship good in all ops. But needs work a bit. Molotov is again a very good ship tho she best perform in AEGIS and KW.

Submarine extended suggestions after 200+ games

A very good write up! Now some points I would like to make, ASW weaponry is problematic on many levels ( ex forward firing ASW is utter garbage for many reasons, range, aiming yadda yadda) On a more general tone, they are making the same mistake as with Cv's , namely trying to create a diversity, which is wrong. Cv's are a strategic class therefore AA could be ....'diverse", however they are doing it with the cost of ignoring the PvP component of this game. With subs this is much more present because "1v1" is the bread and butter interaction style of this class . BB's having the strongest and most efficient weaponry is completely bonkers and not just for historical reasons. Also there is the problem of scalability relative to tier. That's why any approach to this game from a top down, 'board game" style and pov of view is doomed to fail. Which is literally how devs are seeing this game. If you don't play the game you don't understand this game. Period. On an even more generalist view they are trying to "balance" a role for the class which is simply just not possible. One has to have a clear view of the intended role and then one can work "around" that by specific mechanics and interactions and balance things out around the core concept. On another note they have to balance the DMG dealing capabilities of subs ( coz otherwise, who will play them) with their survivability. Also they want to avoid in falling into the trap of Cv's, namely few people playing them. And they want to keep it as simple as possible in terms of game rework (i.e ping/DCP interaction) coz laziness reasons. Like I said many times they want to achieve too many goals at once. which is just simply not possible. Ergo, they frakk around constantly hoping to find something on which to build upon.

    Stun Bombs Dropped

    And makes me wonder .......
  16. Oh my..... So they look at what Wedgie attempted and took it to the next level........\ Yeeeah.....
  17. So....I had a discussion with ex forumite Beastofwar :) and he coined this possibility. Now tbh, if we think about a bit... it is a real possibility. The devblog is kinda vague. The whole thing is kinda over the top. I mean planes which launch smoke screen and chaff, lolz, not to mention the stun thingy.... idk, but it sounds like a legit possibility

Subs are making this game unpleasant

Btw it seems that's subs are underperforming.... " American submarine Salmon, Tier VIII Changed the parameters of the conventional torpedoes: Speed increased: 60 to 65 knots. Range increased: 7 to 9 km. Arming time reduced: 5 to 4.6 s. American submarine Balao, Tier X Changed the parameters of the conventional torpedoes: Speed increased: 64 to 69 knots. Range increased: 7.5 to 10 km. Arming time reduced: 5 to 4.6 s.

Subs are making this game unpleasant

My recommendation is to take out Nevsky with range build and stay away from caps. And not even try to play for da win.

Stun bombs..... can be April fools joke?

Nyet comrade. "When they hit an enemy ship, Stun bombs will temporarily block the use of certain consumables by said ship, such as Damage Control Party, Defensive AA Fire, or Smoke Generator" Not even Speed Boost so press W monke is not affected. Tho... ....as you can see dat is an auto consumable, so that was presumably a CV.

If the thing is true, the whole dev team and the company is and will be an eternal laughing stock of the gaming industry

Stun bombs..... can be April fools joke?

Well.....yes and no. They have quite a track record for not communicating properly. For example remember the christmas tree missions thingy? I don't have proof, but I think that it was intended as a "family decorating the tree together" sort of thing. And they gift each other in the process. Yeah well...missions are not gifts, so.......failure. They also have a track record for going for "maximum efficiency, no matter what, therefore cramming together multiple goals and miserably fail in many of them as a result. As a result of recent events the forum become a quite place, so......if they wanted to generate discussions....they kinda succeeded Yes, but....there it makes a kinda sense. In WoT, to my understanding, the tanks have crews, so it has something to it. Here it doesn't. None of it. None of that was part of naval warfare or history. Just complete bonkers top to bottom. Oh it is. For the reasons laid out in the other thread. It is witchcraft in WW2. Anyway we will see in 2 days.

Yeah I know "how stuff works" but .......is just retarded. Anyway we will gonna know soon enough
  25. " "Understanding that just saying "The players as a whole, are unified in their dislike of the idea of Stun Bombs" might carry some dramatic impact but not much detail, let me add some more logs to the pyre of Stun Bombs. Why Stun Bombs are bad? One of the most problematic issues about CVs is their ability to break at will a "cardinal" element of the game: Concealment. Concealment is a very critical balancing variable, many ships are built around Concealment and resent the fact that their cardinal advantage can be taken from them without a clear way to counterplay. Other forms of Concealment break like Radar/Hydro can be accounted for, played around, evaded or mitigated. Plane spotting is a wild card, unaccountable and under some circumstances unavoidable. This Imo is what makes that ability obnoxious to many players, one player is given "absolute" power to negate a cardinal Characteristic of a ship. With Stun bombs we find an even worse version of the spotting issue as this ability breaks not only Concealment, but also breaks the use of ships consumables, which are also a central balancing factor for all ship. Ships will lose their distinctive identity: Smoke ships, will lose smoke. Radar ships, will lose Radar. Healing ships will lose Heal. All those are central balance elements for every ship, which now could be removed at will by another player. If the spotting "problem" hasn't been resolved 3 years after the rework, and is still an open wound in the game... what makes you think that pilling an even more grievous element on top of spotting would be a good idea?. An additional issue to consider is how the Stun mechanic will negatively impact ship survivability. High tiers are already plagued by the problem of ever increasing lethality, with Superships literaly turning up the volume to 11. Increased lethality invariably generates a "negative" impact on the meta, increasing the player skill gap and promoting a more cautious, speculative, passive play style. An extremely lethal environment is not really conductive to fun and engaging matches, consider this is a current ongoing issue and it will be significantly aggravated by Stun mechanics. Why Stun Bombs are bad for Support CVs? Stun bombs as a Debuff are a "negative action", they "take" something from the target. Conceptually they operate at the same level than Strike Carriers, the are an "attack", just instead of delivering direct damage it delivers a "curse" on the enemy. Focusing a new CV type also in "attack" is a wasted opportunity, a redundancy of roles that fills no real purpose as your attacks now become tied to the ability of your team mates to deliver damage on the "cursed" target. This represents a step back, an unnecessary self restriction from the direct damage mechanics of conventional Strike carriers, if your objective is to deliver damage, why would you submit to team dependency when you could better achieve the goal by yourself doing the damage directly?. Makes for an initial nonsensical proposition. It's no mystery for anyone playing this game that CVs have a "bad" reputation among the player base. A Support CV concept focused on actually doing "positive" actions for the team (instead of more "negative" actions to the enemy), applying buffs and providing assistance to team mates in distress would imo go a long way in changing the perception of CVs. They could be a vehicle to balance the "negative" influence of traditional Strike CVs, helping mitigate the worst problems of the game in a natural "organic" way. It is a prime opportunity to do some PR work of sorts and give players a proper tool to play support roles within the game. You'll be tapping on the interest of "Support oriented" players, which is a role largely marginalized in today's game meta. The proposed concept of Stun Bombs brings nothing "constructive" to the table, just more disruption, more grief, more unbalance. Why Stun Bombs are bad for Support CVs in WoWS? One of the more attractive elements of this game is the Historical component. Many of us players are drawn to the game by its historical and theme and flavor, most ships have a history, a mystic to them that goes beyond the pixels they are made of. We agree to have a "suspension of disbelief" and live the fantasy of mighty warships clashing in epic battles. The game is full of gimmicks and "breaks" from reality, we know that but most of those gimmicks can be abstracted at its core to some real feature: Heals are ludicrous but we are led to imagine the repair parties frantically welding and patching the ships to restore some of it structural integrity. MBRB is very gamey but we can imagine there is a limited ammo store "at hand" that can be tapped quickly before bringing up more ammo from the magazines... many of the game mechanics can be rationalized in a way that don't result too disruptive to the "suspension of disbelief". That's not the case with Stun Bombs, the are just too "gamey" and have no direct parallel or rationalization on reality. They are an unabashedly "arcade" mechanic that represents a fundamental break of the "suspension of disbelief" thus devaluing the game experience far beyond the intrinsic direct impact of the mechanic. It's mere existence makes the game as a whole feel less, it strips the game from its Historical flavor. We don't need a "Witch" class in WoWS delivering hexes and curses, this is not your regular MOBA fantasy based game. This game has both feet rooted in history and game mechanics are expected to at least preserve some "flavor" of reality. Stun Bombs have no place in WoWS, let's please burn this witch". https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/253165-burn-the-witch-more-reasons-why-stun-bombs-would-be-a-terrible-addition-to-the-game/
