    Terrible good/BAD in premium shop

Keeping my wallet closed for now until I see some definite reviews. Shame if she's a turd, because I really like the Aigle (although maybe I'm a weirdo in that respect), and I very much want her chubbier sister to be good as well.
  2. Cossack has the same smoke generator as the tech tree DDs, so very short duration. I don't have it myself (yet), but you definitely can't rely on sitting in smoke and doing dakka-dakka in the fairly comparable Lightning. Le Terrible's guns are presumably not that different from the Aigle's, and that's certainly not a DD for sitting behind cover. Sure, it can do it in a pinch at longer ranges, but getting the most out of it requires you to know how to gunboat in the open.

    Kitty Purrfurst code

Fourth video up, the code is MEOWNIFICENTSHIP. I assume it works just like the previous ones (IE only does something if you haven't activated any of the previous ones), but I'm putting it up anyway.
  4. A little digression: Speaking of spotting, I actually completed a "get x spotting ribbons" mission last week in the Musashi... Derping around in coop is a different matter. Back when I didn't have any ships with really good secondaries I completed some "get a ton of secondary hits" by basically derping around in coop in the Alabama. Yeah, you can occasionally cost your teammates a win, but most of the time if you screw up and get killed it just means more to kill and more exp for them.
  5. Seeing as the Cossack (as well as the Le Terrible) is a strong candidate for the title of "Gunboat DD", even if you didn't use the explicit wording that T0byJug uses it is still implicit. And just to state it in really simple terms: Your premise is wrong. Potential damage isn't "a BB trait", mitigating incoming damage is just as much a skill that gunboat DD skippers have to master as BB skippers. (And for that matter, spotting damage isn't necessarily a "DD trait" either. Khabarovsk says "Hi".)

    Forum misformat on mobile devices

Another thing to mention. If you're using the "dark" theme on mobile devices, the header for each post still has a white background.
  7. As a sidenote: Regarding the specific mission that triggered this thread, Le Terrible doesn't even have have smoke. So if you're going to be useful in that tub you definitely won't be lacking in the potential damage department.
  8. Bumped into @Klopirat in Sunray. We only managed three stars, unfortunately, with only the cv surviving. I was playing the Steampunk-Tirpitz, and did pretty well until I kind of screwed up and got sunk while chasing the gorgon. In my defense, it was only my second time playing the operation, and I didn't quite know its movement pattern.
  9. And the award for "Longest thread title of 2018" goes to... That said, I wouldn't mind seeing secondaries be a bit more flexible. I'd even be fine if the option only applied to targets you'd manually selected.
  10. I know, I just don't give a damn. I don't care if it's not representative of good DD playstyle. If it's a choice between the two, I'll pick the potential damage mission. Because it doesn't require me to rely on anyone but the enemy. I don't want the spotting damage missions at all if I can avoid them, because I've had so many rounds where I've kept a good portion of the enemy team spotted for a good portion of the game, and still only gotten ~10k spotting damage. So my answer to "should WG make more spotting damage missions" is a resounding "No!" Of course, they could just ditch both types of mission and stick to spotting ribbon missions.
  11. I'd flip those. Spotting damage is unreliable, you need people to shoot the targets you're spotting (without the ships you're spotting firing back and their concealment blooming). Getting shot at is easy, as long as you actually do anything in your DD you are going to get shot at. Takes me much shorter to complete a potential damage mission than a spotting damage mission. Should WG be making missions that rely on your team not being stupid: no. Should WG be making missions that rely on the enemy not being stupid: yes.
  12. From a cruiser player perspective, I think the benefits of the nerf to BB concealment outweighs the loss of cruiser concealment. From a BB player perspective... well, T9+ japanese BBs (that are the ones I play the most nowadays) are spotted from orbit anyway. I'd like to see the Kii and maybe the Amagi get some love, though. They're not exactly the most resilient battleships out there, a bit of a concealment buff wouldn't hurt.
  13. 750k potential damage is nothing. I've easily gotten half of that from just getting radared once.

    Daring crap

The Dunning-Kruger is strong with this one.
  15. World of Warships is less successful than WoT because naval combat is a less popular, more anorak-y subject than armoured vehicles. Making it even more slow-paced and indigestible is not going to help that.

    Wargamings BULLY tactics

    Basically, what @El2aZeR said.
  17. I consider the dual-nation version "nice to have", but not worth paying for. With the special skills he has (improved survivability expert in particular), the most use I could see for the dual nation version would be so that you could have him on both the USSR DD lines.
  18. Mission chain gives you the russian version (see @WolfGewehr's image further up), so I would assume the collection gives the US version.

Final Poll: How many UK DD missions did you get?

Got all four. Didn't buy a single premium container, but since I already had the Gallant I did get some regular containers I wouldn't otherwise have been able to get. Also, got some for free from codes that were given out during a stream or something.

    Directive - Earn 7 stars

Well, that's pretty daft. Sure, you can do it by playing something else than the weekly operation in a division, but you really shouldn't have to.

    Kitty Purrfurst code

Perhaps you were just too quick.

    Kitty Purrfurst code

Yeah, that's what I got as well.
