    Buff british cruisers allready!

The only one that really has issues is Neptune*, by virtue of being fat big boned while made of tissue paper and citadels. *Caveat: I have zero clue how the Danae and Emerald are performing nowadays, I haven't played those after the latest changes.

@MrConway, @Crysantos Guys. Please. Tell the webmonkeys to stop using those stupid banners...
  3. The two free containers netted me 50 papa papa and a couple of streamer camos. Wheee...
  4. If I actually had the damned thing, that probably wouldn't be such a bad choice. I got along very well with Minotaur in spaaaaace! back in April, and I'm pretty confident I'm going to like the real thing as well. The Neptune, though? Nah. That thing is definitely getting sold as soon as I research the Mino. I'd hate to be stuck with that one for a whole year. (Don't get me wrong, I've had some good games in it. Got a Kraken only a few days ago. But the combination of it being fairly easy to hit for its squishyness and having quite bad concealment means it's a far less enjoyable experience to play than the Edinburgh before it.)

  6. Considering all the other things some people on this forum are willing to buy, probably yes
  7. Musashi is available for coal, so that's within the rules.

Lonely BB player looking for fun, lets hook up?

    Ok, that's old school.
  9. I'd probably tire of the game pretty quickly under those circumstances. If premiums weren't off, maybe the Scharnhorst (since it's got a little bit of everything). But of the ones that are actually within OP's rules, maybe Musashi to farm a ton of credits for use in 2020.
  10. I mean, I don't agree with the viewpoint that it's useless on BBs, but it's probably the class for which it is overall least useful. For the more cumbersome BBs (e.g. Izumo) it's basically only telling you how many ships are about to farm damage off you, you can't really react to the information it gives you. But in some of the more cruiser-like BBs (e.g. Hood, Warspite and I guess Vanguard) it might give you time to tuck in your stern before you get spanked. The class for which it is overall most useful is cruisers. Especially open water cruisers like the French and Japanese CAs (and, I assume, the Russian cruisers) need every bit of extra information they can get to dodge incoming fire. It's not quite so important for island huggers, but even they might need to do some open water shooting where the skill is useful (especially late game). DDs.... For well concealed torpedo boats it's not that important (you're probably going to get shot by everyone if you're spotted). For gunboats it's quite useful (especially the ones with bad turret angles and/or slow turrets, e.g. the Frenchies). Knowing when to keep shooting because nobody is targeting you and when to turn out and stealth up can make a huge difference both for your survivability and your overall damage results.

    Izumo + Musashi or Yamato

Musashi is a fun boat. Sure, usually she ends up in T10 battles where she's basically a weaker Yamato. But some times, you get to troll the living daylights out of some poor bugger in a T7 BB with those marvelous 18" guns. Also, she makes a fair bit of cash and is going to go away (possibly forever) soon. That said, looking at my own winrate in her, I can certainly see the temptation to skip the Izumo. I know that objectively speaking she's not a bad battleship, she's just tricky to get to work (at least when you're used to the Amagi, which is basically a cruiser that ate all the pies). Her guns are indeed marvelously accurate, but they also feel very trollish in my experience. I get a lot of bounces and overpens that I really wouldn't expect. And while her survivability on paper isn't as bad as it used to be, I think she suffers a lot from being really big and easy to hit, as well as not really having the agility to easily get out of a bad situation. I know it's mostly an issue with my play style, but in the Izumo I tend to end up either playing her too cautiously (not getting much use out of her) or too aggressively (ending up in a situation I can't get out of and getting focused down). While in ships like Amagi I have more agility to work with. I do a lot better in the Musashi, despite not really playing any better in her. But that probably says more about why they want to take her out of the shop than it does about my skills. The combination of those guns and that kind of survivability with T9 matchmaking and T9 premium earning coefficients make her fairly potato-proof.
  13. Eeeh. Depends on ship and range, but in something like the IJN and French CAs, the extra time you get from priority target is often the difference between a severe paddling and a lot of bounces and overpens. Besides, the real spankings are often handed out by that BB taking the opportunity to lob shells at you over an island, not the ships that you see and angle against. Bottom line is that it's very useful information that you often can't get in other ways. Targeted by a single ship? Ok, do a quick course and/or speed change to throw off their aim, and look around to see where it's coming from. Targeted by a bunch of ships? Do your best to go unspotted ASAP.
  14. The most important use for priority target in my opinion is that it tells you when you are not targeted. Yes, you can play as if you're always targeted as soon as you're spotted, and in many cases that works well. But especially on ships that can out-turn their turrets, spending time avoiding shots that never come means you lose opportunities to use your guns. (Yes, Incoming fire alert is an alternative, but personally I find the information from priority target more useful than incoming fire alert.)
  15. He'll have a ton of upgraded skills, but having him on the ship means the ship type icons on the minimap and in the 3D view will change randomly.

Analysis of AA rework and Ship/CV-interaction

I have two ideas: 1) The one requiring actual work: Reintroduce planes as a limited resource. This will again balance planes as a limited resource against AA as a limited/dwindling resource (in the current version, destruction of AA mounts is balanced by planes being a limited resource). You could get rid of total deplaning by allowing the CV player to launch only minimum strength squadrons after a certain number of aircraft losses. So that the CV will always have something to do, but if you throw away your planes you'll be less powerful in the end game. 2) The band-aid solution: Remove module destruction (at least for AA mounts).
  18. I feel more than a bit dirty. But it was a good game.

    Too many events/activities.

Free exp is for getting the freemium ships. I'm not saying it's a time sink. It's the events requiring T5+ ships that's the time sink. What do you think this topic is about?
  20. Uglesett

    Too many events/activities.

Yes, and there's always some T5+ bs going on that means I don't play that handful of games. When I'm done with the crap that requires T5+ ships, most of the time I've already played a handful of games more than I really felt like playing.

    Too many events/activities.

Yeah, it's getting to be a bit too much. Especially since everything is T5+, so there's never a good time to play those lines stuck at T3-4. Dunno. We'll see how grindy the New Year's campaigns are, but I'll probably just give it a rest and pick up the game again over New Year.
