    Asashio cursed?

Her saving grace in that respect is basically her concealment. I will gladly contest caps in her, make no mistake, but I will sneak in arse first with a convenient island nearby that I can quickly get behind. If another DD tries to push into the cap I'll usually spot them first, fire off a salvo while I accelerate away and then get in cover. As mentioned before, while she can duel some other DDs it's highly situational.

    Asashio cursed?

That's the mother of all understatements.
  3. The risk is that it loses enough of the player base to no longer be profitable.

    Asashio cursed?

By the way, it's actually only 16

    Asashio cursed?

Erm. Yeah sure, I'll launch a full range salvo (which of course is only 16 km range, if you have 20 km max range you're doing it wrong) for teh lulz occasionally just to see if I can score a lucky hit (they'll have reloaded by the time I get to a useful range anyway), but the optimal range for Asashio torps is up to maybe 10 km. Beyond that the gaps are big enough that even something as chubby as the Kurfurst will rarely take more than one. Amazing how someone can play more than 300 battles in a ship and have no clue about how to play it.

    Asashio cursed?

As a distinctly player, I still manage about a 60% winrate in her. So definitely not cursed. You can play her as a derp boat, hang back and torp from useless range and not do anything. But if you don't do that she's actually fairly easy to do well with. The thing about her torps is that when there's nothing around for you to torp, it forces you to be useful in other ways (assuming you actually have the drive to try to be useful). I often end up with a metric arseton of spotting damage in her, because often (especially against cruisers), that's all I can do. Her stealth is amazing, and late game even if you can't really damage anything without getting spanked, you can make the enemy team curse your presence just by making sure they never slip into stealth. A lot of her impact probably comes from just scaring BB drivers into being even more timid than usual. But hey, I'll take it. Also, don't underestimate her against DDs, but pick your fights. The Japanese 127s have good ballistics, so you can often fire effectively against DDs at ranges where they start to have a hard time hitting you. In particular, she can be peculiarly effective against gunboats armed with the floaty American five-inchers. I know the same is true for similarly armed DDs like Akatsuki and Kagero, but I find that other DDs tend to chase Asashio more aggressively than others. I suspect the thought process goes something like "hurr durr, Asashio can't torp me, easy kill", and then they chase after you and have a hard time hitting you while you kite away and spank them. So yes, she does somewhat rely on the opposition being dumb, but you'll meet enough of that to ensure that she ends up getting pretty good results. She's a potato farmer, but it's not as if the game is short on potatoes. Oh, and always run premium torpedo reload booster. When you have the opportunity to really make those torpedoes count, you want to have as many of them available as possible.
  7. I think one of the community managers mentioned that you can contact customer service and get doubloons instead of the 1 credit.

    Upcoming AA rework (= removal)

And if you count the number of CAP and teleport-in fighters it can spawn, what's the total airframe capacity of non-RTS Midway? EDIT: Dammit, ninjaed again

    Upcoming AA rework (= removal)

Most short range AA mounts still die to a single large caliber HE shell or HE bomb. Additional survivability for secondaries and AA is one of the most worthless upgrades in the game.

    CV Rework: Change of Heart

I feel like I'm in a minority here, but as a non-cv player I am genuinely not that bothered by the current (RTS) CVs. I mean, for one thing they're rare enough that you see plenty of games without them. Of the games that have them, a fair number are reasonably balanced. And you win because the enemy cv was a potato as often as you lose because it was the other way around. Meanwhile, a far greater number of games is lost because the DDs on your team potato and die early on. The reworked CVs on the other hand just look like they're going to make playing as other classes frustrating for both teams.

CV's ... a radical proposal to resolve the mess

Basically, you're proposing "League of Warships"? Or maybe "Warships of the Storm"?
  12. A bit unfair on His Majesty's Navy there. The Scharnhorsts were classed as "Schlachtschiffe" by the Kriegsmarine, the same term later used for the Bismarcks. In fact, the Royal Navy were pretty much the only ones classifying them as "Battlecruisers".

    Concerning the upcoming CV rework

If nothing else, I think 0.8.0 will see the general player base gain a new appreciation for the RTS CV gameplay.

PSA (mainly for Weebs?) - Azur Lane mission

If I can have an anime cat in command of my Shiratsuyu, I guess I can live with an anime woman in command of something German. I'll need a separate captain for 150mm armed DDs (Gaede/Z-39) at some point at least.
  15. Probably Richelieu mk II, unless something more interesting shows up before I earn that much coal. Edit: my first coupon was used for the Musashi.
  16. I think I'm at something like 7 or 8/40. Somewhat burned out after the Cossack. And I've got family.
  17. My first thought was: "Why on Earth did you bother?", but then I remembered getting nerd-sniped into spending my lunch hour looking up the mechanics of rotational motion after a mate pointed out something that was a bit off in the latest Expanse novel. I'm not really in a position to criticize.

    Daily win bonus bug?

The percentage is not shown for ships that still have a snowflake on them, but the experience icon is shown next to the snowflake.

Prinz Eitel Friedrich missing a deck?

Warships of the age we're talking about here wouldn't exactly have satellite television and Internet access, so the crew would have to organize their own entertainment. And if the crew decided to put up something like a small theatre act or revue, the participants would technically be cast-mates

    Fara on carrier rework

I just had an idea. Instead of using WoWS pc as a testbench for cvs in WoWS Legends, why not do it the other way round? Ditch the poorly tested and poorly functioning cv rework in the PC version for now, and then when they have a reasonably well working and balanced implementation in Legends they can start looking into porting that model into the PC version.
  21. Dispersion is listed for nominal max range (ie without upgrades or captain skills). Albany has a max dispersion of 83 meters at 9.17 km range. Bertie Wooster has 148 meters at 16.7 km range. So their angular dispersion is actually about the same.
  22. The game will have to survive the CV rework before there's any point worrying about submarines.
