If you have issues with forum users pasting rainbow coloured text when posting, maybe you should take it up with the web team and get them to fix the goddamned forum software! I mean, for goodness' sake. This issue has been brought up countless times and acknowledged. It's just been ignored, and there's absolutely no reason to believe it won't continue to be ignored just because someone brings it up in the tech corner. The problem is that the forum software is broken by not forcing paste as plain text when you write the post in some other client and then copy it. And apparently the only way to actually get this fact into people's heads that this is the case is to post in scintillating colours, because bringing it up in any other way has not helped whatsoever. Say what you will, but at least @wilkatis_LV's efforts have not gone unnoticed.

In weird spot regarding missions and pley for phun
Uglesett replied to SirAmra's topic in General Discussion
Can it, though? That's screenshotted from your post. Completely unreadable, whereas the original rainbow text (that I assume some mod first edited and then just deleted) was perfectly readable. Erm. The style sheets for the different forum styles are the same on mobile devices and desktop. If you have a harder time reading the rainbow text on your mobile than on your screen, then it's related to your specific devices, not the text in and of itself. Ironically, that's sort of the point. All of the lazy buggers who write their posts in Word or whatever and then paste them into the forum editor... their points can't be read by people using the dark forum theme. -

Well... I mean, all in all she looks like a Shiratsuyu that would work reasonably well with an Asashio captain. If I slap my Asashio skipper (with torpedo accel, duh) on her, she gets the same torpedo speed as the upgraded torps on Shira (I doubt I'd ever spec torp accel on her) with 2 km more range. But seeing as I'm not terribly fond of the Shiratsuyu (I found the Hatsuharu to be more enjoyable thanks to the faster reloading torps), I can't really drum up any enthusiasm for this boat.- 87 replies

It depends a bit on specific skills chosen. I run my Yamato skipper with a very generic survivability build, and that works equally well on the Musashi and Kii. But something like an AA buffed build might not work as well on all BBs (although it should work on both Yammy and Kii, Musashi not so much). Atago will probably work alright with a BB skipper, but you'll easily end up with some skills that you probably won't benefit that much from and missing some skills that could be nice to have. E.g. skills like fire prevention and basics of survivability are brilliant on BBs, but pretty mediocre on cruisers. Meanwhile, something like Demolition expert is nifty to have on your IJN CA skipper, but a bit of a waste on a BB.

As someone who actually still has T2-4 ships go grind, I welcome "downtime". I don't play as much when there's nothing going on, but to be honest I prefer that. I notice that during events I some times end up playing more than I actually want, and I just get frustrated with the game rather than have fun with it. I think WG are generally pushing too hard with the constant events to drive existing players into playing more rather than trying to grow the player base to keep the server population healthy. In the long run that could hurt the game as otherwise enthusiastic players get burned out on the game. Eh. It's easier to read than most text that's pasted on this forum. I mean, WG could just force "paste as plain text", and it wouldn't be a problem. But apparently making the forum readable for users is less important than that WG staff can post red text without putting any effort into using the forum editor. -
(But seriously, what's up with all the necromancy lately?)

I don't. I mean, while I was never interested in playing them (because the RTS playstyle didn't appeal to me personally, it just wasn't what I was interested in getting out of WoWs), I felt they had their role and I could respect a well played CV, while simultaneously feeling that I had options to mitigate their effect on me even if I wasn't in the best AA ship. Whereas the reworked CVs are just an unmitigated pile of shite.

Ahem: Meanwhile, barring about half of two words, @wilkatis_LV's post is actually perfectly readable:

Eeeh. It's better than using dark forum style and trying to read text some idjit has pasted from Word

For CV users only please. Do you find a 2v2 CV matchmaker fun to play?

Do CVs even care about other CVs after the rework? -
I'll be blunt: If you want players to participate in the PTS sessions, you have to prioritize it. And, sadly, that means not running grindy events in the live client in parallel with important changes being tested in the PTS. E.g. personally I wanted to participate in the CV rework PTS sessions. But in the end, my available game time ended up being swallowed up by the events running at the same time. Which is a shame, because I think you could have received a lot more feedback on the CV rework if the main game had been held "quiet" in the same period.

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Uglesett replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Why, though? I mean, if they supply further specific reasons (beyond the ones brought up previously) for why they find them frustrating and annoying, you're still going to consider those reasons to be subjective. And if you want "objective" arguments, then there's pretty much nothing to discuss about the game, ever. For example, take this: It's a perfectly valid set of (yes, subjective) reasons for considering the RN BBs not OP, but irritating. Because when you get down to it, this is an entertainment product. And the entertainment value is always going to be grounded in subjective opinions. -
I love the fact that my reaction picture will seemingly forever follow that thread whenever someone links to it.
-
Erm. No offense, but I do think you overestimate your own ability to communicate clearly. And I'm saying that as someone whose job includes tasks such as interpreting "English" technical documentation issued by shipyards in China.
-
But that's beside the point of the thread. I mean, the only purpose of the reward system is to acquire new ships, mainly through researching and purchasing tech tree ships. If you're not interested in the latter, there's no real point caring about the former. But OP obviously cares about the results, despite them being "wasted" if you're not using them to acquire new tech tree ships.
-
Erm. Your credits (and elite captain exp, if applicable) that you get from playing the Musashi are completely wasted if you don't also play and research tech tree ships that you can purchase for the credits. I mean, if we're going to talk about "wasting" play time, few things are as wasteful as playing elite ships (which includes premiums), as you don't get any kind of progression from the exp you earn. (Well, unless you're some kind of monstrous, prehistoric whale that's willing to throw a lot of cash at converting ship exp to free exp).

ST - new camouflages, UI improvements, new Yamato model

Hm. Doesn't the Yama with K117 camo have slightly different geometry to the standard camos? Will the geometry update affect that as well? -
89 rockets (and a bomb) to destroy a single DD....
Uglesett replied to Beastofwar's topic in General Discussion
TBH coop isn't that well suited for learning CVs in my opinion. The bots tend to be so suicidal that you might only get a couple of flights off before the rest of your team have killed everyone You can practice drops against BBs and slower cruisers, but the DDs tend to die very quickly. -
I suspect even if the total destruction of ice bergs doesn't quite pan out, partial destruction where you can knock the top off an iceberg to fire over it could certainly be cool.
-
In other words, if the Georgia is a Gneisenau that moved to America and ate all the pies, then the Super-Yamato is a Gneisenau that moved to Japan and joined a Sumo stable
-
Yeah, I think the tight restriction on types and tiers of ship for this event was the major annoyance for lots of people. Personally I was lucky in that: a) I'm enough of a weeaboo that I'm going through both Japanese DD lines and the cruiser line simultaneously, so I had plenty of ships for pt 2 b) I'm enough of a teaboo that I never sold the T6-8 RN CLs and DDs, plus I have an unhealthy amount of premium RN BBs. But I'd be a bit peeved if I had sold all of the other ships leading up to the Minotaur. At least the first part let you use US ships as well.
