No. I'm explaining why it probably will come. Because while they may be slow to do so, WG tend to cave to pressure eventually. Of course, judging by what's happening with WoT artillery, chances are the next rework is just going to make things even worse, because they're basically doing the same thing there that they are doing with CVs in WoWs: Removing high alpha damage in favour of more and more constant annoyance. So the logical extrapolation is that the next iteration of CVs are probably going to be effectively unstoppable, but deal piddly amounts of damage
-
They did once. And let's not get started on how many times WoT artillery have been changed simply because enough people really dislike them.

Erm. You said together with CE... RPF and CE together requires a minimum 14 pt captain. You're going to have spent a fair amount of elite commander exp or commander exp bonus signals/camos to get to that stage by T7 of a tech tree line. Certainly not something I would say should be expected to stay competitive.
-
How many people have 14+ pt captains on their T7 DDs, though?
-
They probably are close to "as balanced as they can be". I.e. not at all, but there's not much they can do about that. The design is inherently flawed in that there is no CV-CV interaction, and very little interaction between other classes and CVs. The gameplay is almost entirely one-sided, which does not for a good design make. And any changes they do make to e.g. anti-aircraft weapon functionality will pretty much constitute a complete rework. Well, of course they're popular. They're an almost risk-free damage farming class with no real counter play. Of course a lot of people are going to be drawn to that. But that just makes the problem bigger, it doesn't solve anything. The sale of premium CVs just demonstrates that WG have given up making the system work well, and just want to cash in. Well, in so far as "success" is measured in quarterly results with nobody really giving a about long term, sure.
-
Because the rework didn't solve any of the issues that were the reason for it. CVs are just as problematic as they always were, if not more so. And since the concept behind the rework is fundamentally flawed, they can't fix it by just tweaking.
-
I suspect they'll fiddle around a bit with them, and then in two years or so we'll have a new CV rework.
-
As Tyrendian said: This is a case of "Equipment slot 5" vs "No equipment slot 5", not premium vs. non-premium. I'd argue that the Lightning is just as scary as the Cossack (albeit requiring a slightly different approach to DD-vs-DD engagements), and Kagero is far more scary than Asashio thanks to it actually having torpedoes that can damage DDs.
-
Hm. Basically a Nicholas with a citadel. Not quite sure where it would fit in without some major tweaks though. As a 1941 refit it feels a bit too modern to be a tier 4. At the same time, a Danae hull at T5 or more... I'm skeptical. And I suspect the AA might end up a little oppressive for T4 CVs.
-
They can't do that before everyone has forgotten that that was how it used to be. Otherwise, it would mean acknowledging a mistake

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

Heh. You can see from the screenshots that I didn't exactly do massive amounts of damage to the two ships I killed (although in the name of fairness, the CV was full health when those torps were launched). So my experience wasn't that different from yours in that regard (I just saw I had 67k spotting damage vs. 48k damage that I did myself :P ) -

Had @asalonen on my team right now. I was out to farm potatoes in the Asashio, he was in the Shokaku Not my best game ever in the trollbote, most of the enemy BBs hadn't exactly taken their brave pills, and I had to hang back a bit thanks to their CV. Got some decent spotting damage, though, and the kill on their LoYang and CV. Didn't pay much attention to what asalonen was up to, but he did a far better job than the enemy CV. -
0.8.2 Update 0.8.2 - Space Battles (Space Assault, Rings of Saturn, Binary Star, Torpedo Beats)
Uglesett replied to MrConway's topic in Archive
Seeing as last week was a bit busy (and the little time I did have to play, everyone else kept killstealing the BBs), I never managed to finish the combat mission that gives you the space background. So, is there any chance of it dropping from containers or showing up in some other fashion? (Ping @MrConway) -
Modules being temporarily knocked out has some RNG to it, so the turret might have suffered penetrating hits earlier without being knocked out. Also, I'm not sure if preventive maintenance actually increases individual module HP (which would make it harder for them to be permanently destroyed). I think it just reduces the probability of them being temporarily knocked out on taking damage.

Z-52 or Gearing? Or wait for French DDs.

Does preventive maintenance do anything besides reduce the risk of modules becoming temporarily knocked out? Does it reduce the risk of them being permanently disabled? Because I thought that was just a question of module hit points.

Do you actually like space battles or rather have other content ?

The ships are all well balanced with each other and there are no CVs. Hell yes I like it. -
How can we add more interaction to: Airplanes versus surface ships?

Then that's no different from not noticing other attacks while in binocular view.- 75 replies

Basically just draw the same graphic on the water surface. So as the pilot is trying to align e.g. the dive bomber aim reticle, the skipper will see the same graphic relative to their ship in their main view.- 75 replies

Tedious as this back-and-forth is getting, it did put me on to one idea that might work: They could display the attack predictor of enemy aircraft within a certain range of your ship. Basically, if an enemy flight initiates an attack when within a certain range of your ship, you see the same reticle as the pilot sees.- 75 replies

"Cexit" (Pick ancient latin "c" sound or modern latin "c" sound depending on whether you want it to sound naughty or not)

Erm, that was even more true in the RTS era, though

Funnily enough, they have a framework in place to poll their user base and help them decide what may or may not be the right thing to do....

While you may not care whether or not WG tanks, I'm sure there are several people employed by them that do (or at least should). And they are the ones I'm sort of trying to reach... No, it does not "depend". The important part is still to listen to their customers. Not doing so doesn't make some idealistic hero, it just makes a bad businessman. Which is not something to brag about. Also, I think the premium store and the events over the years demonstrate thoroughly that idealism is not their driving motivation.
