Yamato has faster turret traverse than Musashi. 3 deg/sec vs. 2.5 Only area where Musashi is less sluggish is rudder shift (18.7 s vs Yamato's 22.1) but that's not really enough to make a significant difference. Yamato actually has decent AA guns. Musashi does not, and has a buffed fighter consumable. Fighter isn't a bad choice for Yamato, but it's not as important as for the Musashi. Whatever floats your boat.

What is your fav class to play and why?
Uglesett replied to Bear__Necessities's topic in General Discussion
Cruisers, because I'm a masochist. -
Yeah, this is just annoying. Go back to how it was.

I wouldn't have anything against it if she got the option to slot MBRB instead of smoke. I probably wouldn't use it, though. But IMO she's in a good spot after the last round of buffs and doesn't need any more straight up buffs.

[POLL] Change the names of the Italian cruisers from Tier 8 to Tier 10

With the summer"sale" nearly ending, did you pick up anything?
Uglesett replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Nothing. Considered picking up the Mutsu, but... eh, I don't play my existing T5-6 premium BBs that much anyway. Probably would have picked up T-61 if it hadn't been bundled with containers. -
Summer sale has begun - but this time it has offer I have never seen before!

Have to admit, I'm mostly saving my coal for the higher tier stuff. -

I'm sure Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya is a nice boat, but I kinda feel I have enough T5 premium BBs now. Scharnhorst would have been a nice offer, if it hadn't been for you know what. -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

To be honest, I didn't feel I really did that much Made two of their DDs miserable and secured a cap, basically. Hehe. I think all I saw from you were a couple of map pings. Tried to say hi, but I think it drowned out in the early game chat. -

So if you have no clue what the event actually entailed, how do you know if it was overkill to use a spreadsheet to keep track of progress? -

You do realize that Victory pt 2 was not a "directives" type event, right? -

It's maybe as much as five minutes of work. A better question is if it's a sign of good event design on WG's part when users feel the need to make spreadsheets to keep track of their progress. -

If you think making that spreadsheet took comparable time to grinding for the Benham, you probably don't have a career in IT waiting for you. -

Yeah, I pointed out the same in another thread. They are basically designing events that are only worth participating in if you have the time to play pretty much every day and complete them fully. For everyone else you might as well not play. Basically, they are relying on the hard-core "play every day" crowd to keep the servers populated, and on the whales for income from loot boxes. Doesn't strike me as terribly sustainable in the long term. Victory pt 2 at least netted me the Murmansk, but every other event the last few months has been completely pointless for me. -

Bumped into @OldschoolGaming_YouTube in the Kutuzov while taking the Akizuki out for a spin. Was a bit of a roflstomp in our favour, but a decent game nonetheless -

To be fair, though, unless said trebuchet platform is captained by a bit of a potato, that is generally also true for the rest of the Japanese torpedo line. And without RPF, it can be devilishly hard to pin down the sneaky little bugger well enough to know where to place yourself to be between it and its prey. Asashio is an interesting boat. It's one whose impact is often much greater than its limited toolset might imply. Eh. To be honest, we probably know as much as we can about future free exp ships for now. I doubt there will be much more information on that subject for a while. The only other contender for a free exp DD that we currently know of is Hayate, and I'd rather put my money on that being an alternate T10 tech tree ship. You never know, though.

WG: Will Benham be put up for sale in the Premium shop?

Uglesett replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
Yes, that's what I said. You can. It'll take longer than if your clan is good enough to reach the higher leagues. But you can basically grind your way to any steel ship by participating for long enough. -
I know their theoretical DPM is so-so, but in practical usage I find the buffed Japanese 127mm Type 3s to be surprisingly effective. They're comfortable to hit with at fairly long ranges and the HE alpha is awesome. They're not exactly duelists, but with the two aft turrets the torp DDs can dish out a hilarious amount of hurt while bravely running away and not taking too much damage in return. Russian railguns are still scary, but you can get a very favourable exchange rate against anyone with American trebuchets if they're foolish enough to chase you.

What are you actually trying to say here? Having purple stats is something that actually requires you to be good. Having one or more of the steel ships just means that you've played enough clan wars to earn enough steel. Do some people consider it a status symbol, and will they get peeved if the great unwashed masses get access to it? Probably. Should anyone (including Wargaming) care one teeny, tiny bit? No. If you're an actual, competitive player, then you get enjoyment from the competitive aspect of clan wars and of actually playing and winning them. -

Uglesett replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
If having a bling ship and being an elitist wanker about it is the incentive to play clan wars (rather than the enjoyment from actually playing), then the clan wars game mode isn't really working out too well, is it? -
WG: Will Benham be put up for sale in the Premium shop?
Uglesett replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
Yes they are. They exist to keep up the population in the clan war and ranked game modes. Nobody said as much. Why? No, I quite specifically said that there should not be:
