    Royal Ark Rick Roll Reward

Came here expecting Ark Royal to come with some kind of Rick Astley easter egg. DISAPPOINTED!

    WOWS 4th birthday bonus code

Cheers everyone It may be browser dependent, but some times when I copy and paste a code it seems to include one or more invisible (non-whitespace) characters. Try pressing backspace after pasting, if it doesn't actually delete the last letter of the code there's some other crud there. Could also just try "paste as plain text". Or just type in the code manually.
  3. Haven't checked the current prices, how many doubloons I have or what's actually available. Might pick up the T-61 if possible, otherwise meh.

CV's are likely finished ☆ thank our lord El2aZeR!

Because this does not come off as stalkery at all...

    Yudachi: before you buy it

After the last round of buffs they're pretty awesome. Great ballistics and excellent HE alpha. From Akatsuki and upwards (with the A-X-Y turret layout), the IJN torp DDs are not to be discounted in a gun battle. Even in a fairly close range battle, the differences in ballistics is quite noticeable. And in a chase, it's always easier to hit a target moving towards you than one running away. If played to their strengths, the IJN torp DDs can trade quite favourably with a lot of the more gunnery-oriented DDs even if nominally they're far behind in the DPM race. Especially in something like the Cossack (with its not particularly good ballistics) I'd be antsy about chasing one of the IJN torp line. Her aft turret angles are fairly meh, so to get some use out of them you're going to have to let the enemy open up the range (in which case the vastly superior ballistics of the IJN guns are quickly going to be making a noticeable difference) and show off a lot of easily hit broadside. And if you only use the front turrets your unfavourable shooting position is going to negate a lot of your DPM advantage.

You probably shouldn't be thinking that if you're sailing the Yudachi, though

It certainly seems a bit meh. It's not as if the guns on the Shiratsuyu are overpowered as they are, so the slower reload seems a bit pointless. And the torps are... eeeh. Might be half-decent using an Asashio-specialized captain, but doesn't really seem worth it.

Why do you like to play CVs?

I mean, I can always elaborate my answer if you want, but fundamentally it says it all. I played the three CV tech tree lines up to T6 to give it an honest go and then basically went it because they weren't really enjoyable. Now I mostly just play the Enterprise, and only when I'm in the mood to make other people miserable.
  9. Just camp the map border and farm damage with HE
  10. I am considering picking up the Graf Spee one, simply because she's a ship I really enjoy playing (she's one of those oddball premiums that's just pleasantly different). She just doesn't get that much play time because if I'm farming credits in premium ships, the Musashi and Kobayashi Kii are better options.
  11. Not going to argue that it's not on the expensive side, but I can sort of see where they're coming from as well. A T6 premium with this camo is going to be in the same ballpark as a T8 premium both when it comes to cost and when it comes to credit and experience income. So there's a certain logic to it.

WG please show the RN Cruisers some Love

This. Basically, it requires a significantly different play style to what you've gotten used to in the previous ships in the line. You have to not move quite as close to caps as you're used to, you have to rethink a lot of map positions that you've used successfully in the Edinburgh and Fiji... it all adds up. For me at least it was enough to put me well below the solid 50+% winrate that I'd enjoyed in every other ship in the line since the Emerald. The concealment difference makes it require a fair bit of adjustment, and for me at least I just never got to the point where she really gelled with me before I was already past her and on to the Mino (in which I'm doing fairly well so far).

No the Bismarck is not weak just the players.

Erm. That's not really saying much, though Yamato is quite easily citadelled by 203mm as long as you're close enough.

It's really only the Neptune that's the odd duck. While her firepower is significantly improved from Edinburgh, she's got significantly worse concealment than her predecessor while at the same time being noticeably less tanky. Minotaur is great, though, and well worth the grind.
  15. The only T10 I have that I don't have a permacamo for is the Minotaur, but even with that I rarely run a loss unless I potato and get deleted early on (in which case it's usually deserved anyway). It's not exactly a moneymaker, but the cost reduction from India Bravo Terrathree and the economic bonuses from what is a fairly modest clan are usually enough to at least keep me above the red.
  16. Pretty pricey. That said, how's the credit earning of a T6 premium with one of these camos compared to a T8 premium with regular camo (IE not Kobayashi camos)?

The difference between Ismail & Warshite

Warspite will overmatch pretty much any DD she encounters. And while an HE pen does more damage (1749 vs 1140 for an AP overpen or pen vs DD), the possibility of internal ricochets causing additional damage means that the gap between HE and AP damage isn't necessarily that big. AP is probably a bit more random, though, but there's no major need to switch to HE for dealing with DDs.

The difference between Ismail & Warshite

Warspite doesn't have "RN HE". She's got standard HE pen and the only British BBs with less HE shell damage than her are Bellerophon and Dreadnought.
  19. Bumped into two forumers tonight. First when I was sailing the Yorck in a T9 game. Bumped into @belalugosisdead in the Azuma with a clanmate in the Musashi. Game looked like it was going to be a loss, but ended up a fairly close victory. Not my best game ever, but decent for being a bottom tier CA. Then a couple of matches later I took the Prinz Eugen out to retrain my German CA skipper for my now recently unlocked Hipper. @fumtu turned out to be on the other team in the Dallas (and tried to set me on fire multiple times). This match started out looking close, and then suddenly turned into a complete roflstomp with the other team collapsing completely. Not quite sure what happened, tbh Thanks for the games to the both of you

    Smolensk.

    @Leo_Apollo11 Ctrl-Shift-V is your friend.

When will the Smolensk be removed from the Armory?

I don't know, but I figure it will happen long before the Yoshino is removed. So I spent the coal and coupon I'd been planning on using for that on the Smolensk instead
