Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

I think I bumped into @Puffin_ (in the Cossack?) last night while I was grinding the stock Ibuki. Started out well, but then our team started collapsing. Still came pretty close to securing a win, but then I got shat on by the enemy CV. I prioritized taking back a cap so we'd win by points, but in retrospect I should probably have prioritized helping our CV kill the Jean Bart. Still, as Jingles likes to say: "Could have, would have, should have - didn't". -
What Do You Guys Do With Your Free XP?
Uglesett replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
Hoard it for free exp ships. I currently have enough for the Alaska, but I'm holding off a bit just to see what's opera, Doc with the Siegfried. -
None confirmed. Of the ships currently in development I would say Siegfried is the most likely candidate for being offered up for free exp.

Kremlin and Vladivostok nerf, How do you like the changes
Uglesett replied to Puffin_'s topic in General Discussion
She's no different from any other BB except high tier Germans and Duke of York in that respect. You do know that planes don't spot torpedoes after the CV rework, right? -
Hang on a minute...what happened to the gun/shell camera?

Default key is "z". -
Fire chance reduction is the same for all T10 BBs, Yamato has no greater or smaller chance of catching fire than any other of them.
-
Pensacola is probably one of those ships where it would be interesting to compare, say, the first 10-15 games played in it versus the next ones. The game certainly has some ships that typically combines a rather steep learning curve with some rather... sub-optimal stock modules, so their results can be skewed towards the bad side, even if the ship fully upgraded is quite decent.
-
Hm. I only ever played her in her T6 iteration, and I thought she was... alright. Yeah, the turret traverse is painfully slow, so often I found it easier to just aim the ship. She's got decent firing angles, so you can usually angle her pretty well while still getting a lot of guns on target. And the guns are great, she earned me a fair few devastating strikes against other cruisers. I'm not going to say she's amazing, but I did alright in her. Might help that by the time i got around to playing her I'd already gotten pretty adept at kiting with the IJN CAs, so it didn't take me long to figure out how to do the same in the Pensa.

Suggestion for New T9 UK Supercruiser: HMS Incomparable (1937)
Uglesett replied to black_falcon120's topic in General Discussion
Drachinifel has a video on the French pre-dreadnought hotels. I haven't gotten around to actually watching it yet (because it's close to an hour in length), but I suspect some might find it interesting. I'd still like to see the Courageous class as a wonky premium, but I think the way to do it would be to have the 2x2 15" guns as the default, and then have a second gun module for the meme guns. The problem is that it would be really hard to balance the 18" guns when there are so few of them. It could very easily just become a troll option that's more of a detriment to your own team than a threat to the enemy. I think the 15" gun option could be balanced, though. Make it a mid-tier cruiser, and it would probably share some qualities with the Graf Spee. A bit special, interesting to play more for the flavour than for the power level, but nonetheless good in the right situations. -
Erm. That is sort of one of the main raison d'êtres of the state and specifically the judicial system: To protect the citizens from harm and exploitation.

Dirty seal clubber GG. It was actually my first game ever in Communist Omaha (not the Kirov). Picked it up for tokens or something during part of the Soviet BB event, but never got around to try it before last night. It might have helped my performance a bit if I'd actually remembered to buy and mount upgrades before taking her out But I don't think there was much I could have done to salvage that game. Cheers, and thanks for the game -
Which Tier VI Premium (from completing directives) are you hoping for?
Uglesett replied to Favuz's topic in General Discussion
Aigle's quite different from the later tech tree DDs (just as Gallant is quite different from the tech tree RN DDs, having a normal smoke and speed boost). She's got a smoke generator, which makes for a significant change from the more recent French DDs. And with the buffed torpedo range, she's actually not entirely useless as a stealth torp boat. -

Gallant's not the most exciting T6 premium, but she's a good all-round DD. Decent gun power, good torpedoes whose main drawback are a slow reload. A bit overshadowed by T-61, though. -

Well damn, I actually had some luck for once... -
Working as intended, Comrade. Clemson is not battleship, da?

More Daily Missions + Random Drop Boxes Pls
Uglesett replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
Eh? Premium account allows you to choose a third active campaign objective (which stays active after premium time runs out, until you complete it), but you can always have at least two campaign objectives active. -
Erm. It doesn't help if we stop (or don't start) buying loot boxes as long as others decide for themselves that they still want to buy them. Then WG will keep offering them (and keep degrading the game for everyone else in the process).

It's absolutely idiotic. Either offer ships that can be earned predictably through playing the game, or just drop it. And it's quite ironic that WG are complaining that people don't play the lower tiers (leading to the spectacular botch that was the initial proposal for the NTC), yet at the same time allow a good portion of the player base to skip the lower tiers entirely when releasing a new tech tree line. I mean, just stop giving new tech tree lines away at T8, and then you'll actually have people playing those lines in the lower tiers for a while at least.

I agree they're decent boats, but I've already got them. -

T-61. Wouldn't mind Mutsu, though. -
Yūdachi : Buy or No Buy: Help Please
Uglesett replied to Rhineheart_Thor's topic in General Discussion
Cossack is a good gunboat and cap contester. AA is fairly naff, though, and the torpedo armament is... ok. Short reload means it's almost always available when needed, but with only one launcher you have a harder time scoring those devastating strikes. -
So why didn't you specify your intent in the first post? I mean, you might as well have left it entirely empty for all the content it has.
-
If that is so, why didn't you write that in the opening post? I think you overestimate the novelty of this thread. To be blunt: there's nothing in this thread that hasn't already been discussed multiple times before, and you're not exactly offering any revolutionary insights to DD play.
-
The game throws consumable camos after you, so there's certainly no need to ever spend anything on those. While I've spent cash on the game, it's been mostly on premium ships that I wanted because they were what they were. I could certainly have managed without them. Premium time... I think I've bought one or two weekends' worth overall, and could easily have managed without. It speeds up your progression and gets you a few more daily containers, but it's not necessary. You'll just spend more time in a given tier and more time before you can get the free exp/coal ships that you want.
-
Where's the "DDs are mostly fine but have some issues" reply option? And subs certainly aren't going to save DDs. They're just going to get DD players yelled at even more, since they now do it wrong not only if they are not at the front, spotting and capping, but also do it wrong if they're not close to everyone else and hunting submarines.
