24,000 doubloons for 'premium' Puerto Rico boosters.

Also, someone should probably inform Sub_Octavian that WG increasing the "value" of the reward doesn't actually increase the number of hours in a day -

I was actually planning on throwing some doubloons at this and playing a fair bit, but looking at those directives.... -
CV: Always blamed for the loss of a game

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Oh man, he actually used it (I didn't even report the guy, he was a bit daft right there but ended up on top of the team list and did a pretty good job. Everyone can tunnel vision. Doesn't mean he didn't deserve a little bit of public humiliation, though ) -

Sub hunting gameplay looks like a recipe for: a) Getting spanked by surface ships by tunnel visioning on subs and getting too close. or b) Getting yelled at and reported by your team for not hunting subs (or if you do hunt subs, you'll get yelled at for not spotting and capping). -
Tighten Dunkerque's Dispersion Please

Considering that a decently sized barn door is comparable to the size of a cruiser turret, that would make her the most accurate ship in the game... -
How many bombs does Shokek drop per strike? Citadel damage is 6100 per bomb. And iirc Enterprise drops six bombs per strike with 5900 AP damage per bomb.

And, as with CVs, you're highly unlikely to ever achieve a result that's both satisfying to play and to play against. -
This as well. I know WG disagrees with me, but I basically consider (non-perma) camos and signals to have no monetary value, so that makes them even less attractive.

The gun dispersion has been buffed, so it's on par with Alaska. Concealment's been changed as well. -

Art thou surprised? As far as I'm concerned, there are too many mehbotes that I don't have (and am not interested in) in these containers for me to chance them.

Forgot to nab screenshots, but I carried like a boss in a game last night in the not particularly impressive HMS Furious. In the end, it was me and a Haida vs. a Boise and two DDs (Jaguar and Fubuki I think). The two DDs chased me all along the top edge of the map, I nailed the Fubuki first, then started to work on the Jaguar but had to take time out to reset the Boise that was capping. The Jaguar managed to nail me with torps, but not until after I'd killed him. And since the two enemy DDs were so obsessed with me, they didn't go and stop the Haida which managed to cap their base with less than 30 seconds to spare. Classic example of the enemy team trying to win harder, I suspect if the DDs had left me alone they could have capped us out first. -

Was finishing off the aircraft carrier tasks from the regia marina event in everyone's favourite not-at-all-overpowered premium CV, the Enterprise, and bumped into @Mr_Tayto and @Gojuadorai on the other team. Not a particularly good game on my part, I mostly just made their DDs miserable and then potatoed into a lot of flak (I blame the spotty Internet connection at my parents' holiday home), but they were saddled with a team that potatoed even harder, so my team still won. -
Proof of Concept Test - Cruiser plating and Inertia Fuse High Explosive (IFHE) for Tiers VIII-X, second stage of the test.
Uglesett replied to Tanatoy's topic in Development Blog
Ok, so my two cents Norwegian Kroner on this subject. 1) I genuinely don't think CL-CA interaction is that much of a problem, and this solution doesn't seem to do anything for the balance of BBs vs cruisers except make BBs even less vulnerable and more braindead than they already are. As long as HE penetration is completely binary, IFHE is going to be either mandatory or pointless regardless. All you're achieving here is to possibly change up which ships it's mandatory for, while making those ships even weaker with the further reduced fire chance. 2) I know this is an arcade game and all, and real-life categorizations don't really matter that much. Still, it grinds my gears that CAs automatically are supposed to be the "tanky" cruisers in this proposal. CL vs CA classification depends (as others have mentioned) on armament, not size and armour scheme. While CAs were typically larger than CLs, they weren't automatically more robust. If the interaction between CAs and CLs is off, then I'd rather see improvements to some aspects of CA weapon performance. That would at least better reflect the difference between the two classifications. (And while I'm on that subject, give the Mainz back the same armour scheme as the Hipper/Eugen - they're supposed to be the same hull, after all.) -

Ballistic Normalizing caps are mostly an AP shell thing, since you normally don't have the same need to normalize impact angles for shells intended to detonate on impact, and probably don't want to sacrifice volume of explosive filler to make room for the ballistic cap. -

Depends on the shell body design and fuse. At a guess, I'd say they would have a smaller range of ricochet angles than uncapped AP shells, but possibly greater than capped ones. -

HE shells with regular contact fuses can ricochet. If the shell strikes at a shallow enough angle that the fuse doesn't actually strike anything, it won't detonate. -
Looking for a premium British light cruiser to buy
Uglesett replied to Captn_Crap's topic in General Discussion
I wouldn't mind a premium Crown Colony at T7 that mostly works like the tech tree boats but with some distinct flavour. As long as it works well with the same captain skills. -

Finally, got a 19 point captain....
Uglesett replied to Hopeless_Guppy's topic in General Discussion
Yep. Yep. Yep It's stated in the captain's profile which ship he's trained for, and you at least get the option to cancel if you accidentally try to transfer him to a ship which will require retraining. -

Uglesett replied to Hopeless_Guppy's topic in General Discussion
My first 19 pt captain was my Yamato skipper. That way, I can move him between Yamato, Musashi and Kii (heck, I could buy a couple of more premium IJN BBs as well if I wanted to) so I can farm multiple first win bonuses for elite captain exp. My second is a German DD skipper that can be moved between (soon) Z-52, Z-39 and T-61. Having a 19 pt captain dedicated to a single ship when you only have one is a bit of a waste of farming potential. Even though it might not be perfectly optimal in terms of individual ship performance, you're probably better off training him for a tech tree ship and then moving him to premium ships for more elite captain exp farming potential.
