    Why AA skills are worthless

Not really. If anything, AA stacking only makes the skills count even less, unless all of the ships shooting at the aircraft have them, since any bonus the skills confer will be drowned by other factors. The only point to taking the AA buffing skills in the first place would be if you are facing air attack alone. And they're not worth taking even for that.

    Why AA skills are worthless

As I noticed when trying to play over the not particularly impressive internet connection at my parents' holiday home, CVs are also particularly susceptible to packet loss. It both screws up your plane controls and makes "invisible flak" more likely to occur.

    Why AA skills are worthless

All in all it would probably be better if they ditched the AA bonuses from captain skills and just rebalanced AA around not having them. Because even if the skill bonuses were actually half decent, it'd still be a waste of captain skill points to pick skills that are only good against one class that you don't even see all the time when other picks are good against all the other three classes. I don't think they're going to do that, because they're dead set on not having CVs be seen as a failure, and having the illusion of being able to pick skills that work against them is part of that. Ideally, they'd get rid of the AA bonuses from current skills and make new, AA-specific skills with a lower point cost (although even 1 point is a bit steep for how little AFT and BFT currently achieve on the AA front) and redo the skills that currently have AA effects. Sure, the current AA buff is a nice bonus when you have low calibre main armament that actually gets use out of AFT and BFT, but to pay the same point cost for just the AA buff with no other bonus? An insane waste of captain skill points.

Flak can be avoided in its entirety just by knowing where the WSAD keys are. Slingshotting is mainly useful against continuous AA damage.

So, the conclusion is that not eating flak puffs like they were popcorn is an exploit? Am I reading that right?

Low Tier Ships - Whats your favourite ?

Probably the low tier German DDs, for forward-mounted torpedo tube reasons.
  8. They negotiated a deal so the HSF ships made a brief reappearance as expensive bundles, but I doubt we'll see them for sale again.
  9. I guess Harekaze counts as well? Bought her when she was made available again recently.
  10. Is Vampire rare? I got that from a mission chain or something, hardly ever play it. I picked up Musashi for coal, Cesare and Enterprise for cash. Krohnstadt was also either free exp or coal, I don't remember.
  11. Well, my first 19 point captain is my survivability specced Yamato skipper, so that works out too
  12. I'm getting close to the same choice myself. Personally I'm leaning towards the Yoshi. But part of the reason for that is that I can use her with my IJN CA skipper who is soon to be my third 19-pointer. Otherwise I think I would have picked up the Thunderer first.

how many € you spent on mega santa gifts?

    Nothing. Nada. Zero. Zilch.
  14. The reload is also marginally worse than with MBM3. I'm not entirely sure it can be considered a straight upgrade over MBM3, the latter can at least be situationally more effective if you do find yourself at closer ranges.

Are you going to grind the Puerto Rico?

Not if you haven't bought any of the doubloon boosters. Getting it for free requires you to finish all seven directives fairly short time after they become available.
  16. Which is why I'm using the coupons and spending them on a couple of premiums I've had my eye on I'll get whatever enjoyment out of them I can and ditch the game when the devs screw it up beyond enjoyment, and I won't play just because I feel I have to get value out of premium time. Eh. If I happen to have the time to actually get some decent value out of premium time I can buy a single day here and there or a weekend pass, and it'll end up costing me far less than 12k doubloons over the course of a year.
  17. Eh. For one thing, I don't play often enough, and for another WG seems determined to make the game unattractive for me to play. I didn't buy a year's premium time last year, and I haven't regretted it.
  18. I assume they meant BoS. To be fair, I keep getting the names of those two skills mixed up myself as well.

add air superiority squadrons to carriers

It's not that they're difficult to use. It's just a waste of time to use them. Time spent flying to your allies and dropping a fighter squadron on them is time not spent dealing damage to the enemy team. Meanwhile, the enemy CV will just attack someone else for a while and then return to murder the target you tried to protect a minute later. Rework working as intended, comrade.

Peurto Rico - who is actually grinding her

PEF is T6. And the grind for that was excessive for a T6. To be honest, there's no point in them offering it "for free" when it's not functionally available for free. The PEF and DoY grinds were already borderline, so if they don't want to offer a T10 for the same amount of effort they just shouldn't bother. As I've said previously, WG increasing the tier of the reward ship does not break the space-time continuum and increase the number of hours in a day. TBH, considering that a) The Puerto Rico is a bit of a mehbote b) WG really needs some good will after all the they've pulled this year then they should have been generous, ditched the Gorizia and offered up the Puerto Rico with less coal and containers along the way for roughly the same amount of effort as the previous NY grinds.
  21. In the time period that the quoted statistic covers, PR had 2100 games and Alaska about 18k.
  22. Hm. What's thre url for the armory again? Might blow some of those doubloons I'm never going to use for anything else on the Mutsu or Blyska.

Peurto Rico - who is actually grinding her

But someone with no games played (but more money than sense) getting a T10 premium is fine. As for you still pulling figures like "30 games" out of your , earlier events like the Duke of York and Prinz Eitel Friedrich events required significantly more than that. And I don't think anyone expected less than that. "Not much effort"? Getting the Gorizia for free is significantly more time consuming than the Duke of York event (which also gave out a T7 premium) and the Prinz Eitel Friedrich event.
