Up and At Em, The Beast of T6

If I'm going to pick T6 premiums that overall just perform well at their tier and deliver good results, I'd go with T-61, Graf Spee and Prinz Eitel Friedrich (ya rly).

What the PR PR fiasco cost wargaming?

Of course not. They never mention details. They are specifically as vague about stuff like that as they can get away with. And how much of the player base do you think even knew about the values used on the PTS? Most people only have the PR articles and videos to go by. And in that PR materiel, they advertised it with phrasing along the lines of "everyone can experience the building of a ship" and sold it as a very accessible event. And when the actual details dropped (and even those details were deliberately obscured), people justifiably felt mislead. WG created the expectation of this being an accessible event. What you are doing is basically trying to turn this around and saying "well, players should expect WG promotional material to be full of , it's not WG's fault that players believe them." No, but as mentioned in another thread, it's probably quite an understandable reaction to players who do not see the bigger picture, and who by rewarding WG for making the game worse contributes to WG continuing to make the game worse. I'll say it straight up: If you care at all about the future state of the game, rewarding bad events like this by paying WG is a bad decision.

What the PR PR fiasco cost wargaming?

Based on the communication they published before they then furiously started to edit it post-event-release, I would say it was entirely reasonable to expect the Puerto Rico grind to be on par with previous New Year events. And as a public relations move after what can only be described as a disastrous year for the WoWS team where customer relations is concerned, being more generous than previous years would have made quite a lot of sense.

What the PR PR fiasco cost wargaming?

Possibly, but what is the question? That sentence was so badly worded that I genuinely don't know precisely what you're trying to ask.

What the PR PR fiasco cost wargaming?

Is anyone claiming that they did?

What the PR PR fiasco cost wargaming?

That's not what WG originally advertised it as, however.

Up and At Em, The Beast of T6

I tried her out when you got her as a rental for some mission chain a while back and... meh? If I'm going to drive a slow super-dreadnought with twelve 14-inch guns I already have the New Mexico.

    So...I got the PR....

Ok, sorry to piss on the parade, but here's the thing: If you throw away money on tobacco and alcohol, that mostly only affects yourself. When you give WG the money that they want for a super-cynically designed event such as this instead of the smack on the nose with a rolled up newspaper that they actually deserve, what you are doing is rewarding bad behaviour. And in doing so, you help ensure that WG stay in the mindset that what they are doing is working and in turn contribute to making the game worse for yourself and everyone else. And I'd argue that anyone who manages to see the bigger picture is rightly justified in at least being a bit peeved not just with WG but also with the players who make sure that WG's bad decisions are financially successful. Lately they have been really pushing it when it comes to monetization and the value-for-money and value-for-playtime of their promotional events. The best thing that could have happened both with this Christmas event and with events like the Benham grind is if they ended up actually losing a significant chunk of money from them, because that would force them to rethink their strategy. As it is, as long as players keep rewarding them for making the game worse, they'll keep making the game worse.

Clans & Why you should be in One

Fixed for dark backgrounds. ("Paste as plain text" is your friend and saviour)
  10. The tasks are for base exp. It's stated in the task description.
  11. I took my Viribus Unitis* into random to knock off the snowflake and bumped into @citaDELer in the Fujin, who spawned on the other side of the map, and was the fortunate recipient of a Detonation achievement pretty early on. Fun and engagement was had Sorry I didn't say hello, I didn't really notice your presence before your unfortunate demise. Still, thanks for the game *Don't judge, it dropped from a supercontainer. No, not a christmas container, an honest-to-gawd random supercontainer
  12. Hm. Don't know if I can list any three particular favourites, it changes way too much over time. Scharnhorst and Atago are rarely boring. Enterprise when I want to make people suffer. Yamato/Musashi for when I want to take it slowly. Recently rekindled my relationship with Hood, I play her far too seldom. Erm. It's not as if she's particularly difficult to get hold of

    Resolute & Rapid containers

If you're wondering when they'll be available for coal rather than tokens: Update 0.9.4 https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/game-updates/update-0810-resolute-and-rapid/#italian-cruisers-part-2

How is everyone getting on with Puerto Rico grind?

Between 200% first win bonus and some free premium time, I actually finished Directive 2. Go me

    the "carry harder!" thread

Apparently I'm not supposed to knock the snowflake off the Texas

    Indomitable. Just plain bad.

A certain force user with a bad hairdo is not impressed.

    Commander Sansonetti

You get him by completing the collection that came with the italian cruiser event. Which you can only do with the speshul containers that can be bought for the speshul currency you could earn in the previous patch.

    Why AA skills are worthless

No Hasselback or Pommes Noisettes? Heresy!

    best DDs for each tier?

    Honorable Service.
  20. If there's one thing that's going to murder my enthusiasm for this game, it's content being gated behind regrinding lines I've already played through. The NTC was a bad idea that should never have been thought up let alone implemented in the first place.

    best DDs for each tier?

Previously I would have called Gallant a decent T6 allround DD, but it's been basically body-slammed into the sidelines by T-61.
  22. Heh. Ok, maybe I'll use that one and pick up the Mikasa just for lulz.
