Because you've completed all of them for January already? They reset on the first of each month, not with patch release.

WG please remove AA completely from the game

Bring the joys of T4 to all tiers. -

Things like the fire prevention signal tend to show up in various drops, event rewards etc, so while it's frustrating to be low on stocks now, it usually isn't a problem when you've played a while. At least not if you mix things up a bit and play different classes. There's little point running the fire prevention signal on a cruiser or destroyer, so if you only use the ones you get when you play BBs and don't only play BBs, you should start to accumulate a few of them. Same thing with premium DCP and premium heal, those are available as e.g. campaign rewards, so it's possible to get a fair few of them stocked up that way without spending credits. Captain skills and ship upgrades in conjunction with learning a bit more about positioning helps a lot, though. And it's often not necessary to equip all the stuff all the time. E.g. most of the time in low to mid tiers I don't bother with premium heal, because usually I don't get any real use out of the last charge anyway.

99% of players probably don't express much of an opinion. The ones who bother to come here are: a) People who actually, genuinely care about the game, and want to see it prosper (rather than just go " crap, I'm out" and ditch the game) b) People with above average knowledge of the game and its mechanics and economy.

I was about to post the "we have this thread every week comrade" meme, but I actually think this is the first one in a while.

Moving commander to premium ships - now you must pay ?
Uglesett replied to SEN_SEN_Channel_Portugue's topic in General Discussion
As @ForlornSailor said, you're still in the process of training him for Richelieu, and the indication will be there until he's finished retraining, at which point he'll be fully specialized for Richelieu. It's a bit of a waste of time spent retraining, though. If he works on a DD you should just transfer him to a tech tree DD (to start the retraining process for that) and then move him back to the Aigle to retrain him without penalty. -

What ship is the captain actually specialized for, though? Is he specialized for the Aigle, or for some other ship? -
To be honest, I think part of the problem is that the game is fairly mature and should have "settled" by now. The game is fairly alright in terms of content and mechanics. There isn't really a need to produce as much content or make as many changes as they are doing. They're not really prioritizing making the game more accessible and growing the playing population, so all they really need to do then is keep the existing player base occupied. I suspect part of the problem is that they still have the full-size team of a game in early development, while the game itself doesn't really require that kind of development effort any more. Which means that they end up having more work available than the game really needs. I'm not saying they should fire people, but WoWS has probably reached the stage where other developers would have started to shift the majority of the development resources over to their next title, while keeping a smaller team to keep a steady trickle of content going for the older game.

IIRC it's possible to choose to retrain a skipper specifically for a premium. I seem to recall having ed up and done that once when I was new and inexperienced. In which case you have to retrain normally, although I think the skills still work 100% while you're doing it. Are you sure you haven't just accidentally chosen to retrain the captain for the Aigle? Is "Aigle" listed as the captain's specialty? -
There will never be a BB with bigger guns then Yamato...

Did you get what you wanted from New Years Gifts and Rewards?
Uglesett replied to DFens_666's topic in General Discussion
Since the event technically didn't end until this morning, I held off on answering this poll. But now might be a good time to reanimate this thread. 1. Did you have any goals? I.e. PR/Gorizia/collecting Snowflakes... I was always planning on getting the snowflakes knocked off, because it's low hanging fruit. Wasn't really a problem, I don't have that many ships. Other than that... well, mostly I just wanted to get the shipbuilding collection done, because... I dunno, OCD or something. I like to complete the collections. Unfortunately, that proved to be pretty much impossible without also getting the Gorizia and doing a fair few of the missions for T6 ships. 2. Did you collect all your Snowflakes? Yup. Including a late night coop match last night to knock the snowflake off my recently acquired Trento. 3. Did you grind Gorizia? Yes, although that was more of a requirement for other things. 4. Did you grind PR? Ahahahahaha. No. Never an option once I saw the directives 5. Did you complete the Shipbuilding Collection? Yep. 6. Did you get the rewards from the directives you wanted to? Eeeh. I got the Gorizia, so I suppose I should be happy, but it's a bit meh that there was some cool stuff in the later directives that was never even close to being accessible. To be honest, I think the rewards in Directives 1-3 that weren't shipbuilding containers could have been a bit more generous. 100k credits or a single one-use camo or speshul signal is more of an insult than a reward. 7. Did you complete the T6 techtree ship + New Years Camo missions? Yup, basically sped through them the last few days. A mix of quick and dirty coop games for wins, kills, firestarting, and damage, plus spending some Type 59, Asian lantern and all sort of signals in randoms for exp and captain exp missions. Didn't need to do all of them, but it was nice to get the Izmail and Trento as well as credits for Furious and Guepard. -
Poll is missing a "neither" option. One is a worse Yamato that breaks (another) one of the long-standing premises of the game without actually offering anything new, the other is a glorified cargo ship specialized to ferry aircraft.
-
Siegfried's a cruiser, though, not a BB
-
But of course, if you acquire said T10 ship after 0.9.1 drops, you will be locked into the ing Research Bureau to get these upgrades Seriously, just get rid of the research bureau and the regrinding mechanics. All it is is a crutch for your developers to avoid having to come up with good ways to get long-term players to go back to lower tiers, while making the game worse for everyone who's not played for ages and already has everything unlocked.

dd nerf Huge DD nerf might be coming for patch 0.9.1
Uglesett replied to Jethro_Grey's topic in General Discussion
Eh. As soon as WG gets hit by a storm of angry BB players who actually got hit by torpedoes, they'll get nerfed. -

I'm actually starting to wonder if they're adding subs just to give DD players something to do. Spotting? CV's job now. Contesting caps? Good luck with CVs and radar around. Kill stuff with torpedoes? Makes the target feel bad, apparently, so we can't have any of that. So what can they do? Hang around with the other ships and chase away subs so the BBs don't get interrupted in the important task of shooting at cruisers. -

Uglesett replied to Jethro_Grey's topic in General Discussion
For 2020 the WG dev team needs someone who can just attend design meetings with a rolled up newspaper. If an idea comes up and it's a net nerf for DDs, smack the offender with the newspaper. DDs are already in a bad spot, it's time to show them some love. -
opinionated review 2019 - a year in retrospect
Uglesett replied to Jethro_Grey's topic in General Discussion
@Jethro_Grey Hot tip, when you edit your post and copy something from another post, use "paste as plain text", or the text will be hard coded to the dark grey colour of the theme you're using (which is almost the same as the background colour on the dark theme) instead of using the default font colour for theme. -
Videos showing the targeting reticule are streams/recorded during play, not recorded from replays. E.g. Flambass streams while he plays, and his videos are direct recordings of him playing. Meanwhile, Jingles receives replay files that he records and provides commentary for.
-
When they were playing the match, the user interface was as normal, showing the targeting reticule and probably some other UI elements that slip my mind. When you open the replay file of the same match, the game won't render the targeting reticule because the devs haven't bothered to code that bit.
