Don’t buy PEF - she sucks hard

I dislike the lurid and unconstructive title of this thread. But FWIW, clearing the last of the snow from some TV ships, I just encountered a PEF bot in my Kongo in a Co-op match, and it was truly shocking how little damage his guns did to my ship - which is on the face of it very similar in layout and all kinds of parameters but a Tier lower - while my own guns very easily penetrated the Prinz from all kinds of angles and did a ton of damage. This does not seem balanced at all. Even if it's just a dumb bot, sailing past it in a lower Tier ship of the "same" type and slugging it out should result in the lower tier ship taking substantially more damage than the higher tier ship. Instead, I did almost 40k damage to him and he returned only 11k, almost all of it from fire caused by his secondaries. Possibly one more case in point for creating a separate ship type for battle cruisers.

Should all battlecruisers be in the cruiser class?

Seeing as this is an arcade game which is at best loosely concerned with historical facts and developments, it's irrelevant what any actual historical ship designers thought or what any countries classified those ships as. What matters is game balance. And from that perspective, the answer to the OP question must of course be "No, they should not. They should get a tech tree class all of their own - battle cruisers - and more to the point, they should get their own matchmaking constraints, to stop all-Stalingrad divisions in Clan Battles and similar perversions."

    Concerning the upcoming CV rework

Just search for Kancolle images of Yamato and Musashi, then do Fubuki and Shimakaze, then a few carriers. Basically, ship size ~ age, gun caliber ~ boob size. With the running gag being the flat "flight deck chest". Seriously. That's what these people think humor is about.

Yes well but it also then demounts the Nelson camo, which I paid good money for.

    Suggestions thread

Any expendable camouflage other than the "Lidl" Type 1, 2 and 5 camos, i.e. one that also yields economic bonuses of some kind, like extra XP. The sum can't. What I meant here was players adding or subtracting karma points. Being reported or complimented should matter.

PSA: Concealment nerf coming up in 0.8.0, hitting mainly cruisers

Honestly I'm rarely ever sure what these guys think. It would seem from the latest "Waterline" video that the assumption is they will grow the number of carrier players substantially while actually reducing the carrier threat and impact to surface ships, simply because most of the CV unicums will "go quietly", just drop out of the game since they want RTS gameplay, and they assume the new "point&click" style #lol is just to boring for these guys. And so they expect most carrier players next month to be regular players who used to mainly play surface combatants and are simply less skilled and that will achieve the reducing of the CV impact. What they don't seem to anticipate is skilled CV players actually using 0.8.0 as an opportunity to give Wargaming a massive finger by blapping as many other players as they can all month long, and generally making the game as unfun to play as possible for as many people as possible.

PSA (mainly for Weebs?) - Azur Lane mission

Yes, it does - except for the unique captains. Azur Lane still speak Japanese, all incarnations of Dasha speak Russian, and let's just not talk about the Ovechkin voiceovers.

PSA (mainly for Weebs?) - Azur Lane mission

Maybe but then ~60% of my captains speak languages I don't speak, or don't speak well; ~30% of the remaining 40% get a voiceover I DO understand but which is so bad (idiomatically) that it gives me permanent hives. I am German but play this game in English because the German voiceover just makes me constantly vomit, what with all the errors and sloppy translations etc. (The American one isn't that much better but for some reason it just bothers me less.)

No thanks. Another excited little Japanese chick that makes all other captains on my team suddenly ALSO turn into excited little Japanese chicks... got one of those and she nearly turned me off my Leander...

Daily mission chain two not working

Have you maybe played Clan Battles all day? Because that doesn't count toward the chain. Don't know if Ranked Sprint does, off the top of my head but I think it does... another possibility is you have been sealclubbing because the chain is only for Tiers V and higher.

    Concerning the upcoming CV rework

I don't. That's why I didn't write anything of the sort. By "attract more RTS players" I meant "attract more people from outside the classic WoWs player base that actually like RTS games" and not "convert more WoWs players to suddenly start liking RTS gameplay". Like, recruit (more) new players that come in specifically to play carriers from the outset. Obviously I haven't bothered to look up any market data and did not try to guesstimate the viability of that approach. The RTS market is possibly a lot smaller than the MMO shooter market. I don't think Wargaming did much of that either though, and they even designed a full RTS game within an MMO that they tried to market to players who prefer MMOs from the outset. The idea is more to change target demographics. There's bound to be RTS players with friends who don't enjoy RTS but still would like to play with their buddies. It would have been an interesting proposition to certain people. The prerequisite being that the RTS portion is well designed and interesting as such, in relation to pure RTS games, which at least the GUI was definitely not up to snuff, that much is clear. But I still think there would have been a chance, I mean look at the ship girls alone. The carriers are at least real grown-up women. Preferring smaller boobs doesn't make people pedos. You know? But I digress.

    Concerning the upcoming CV rework

Well, they had a wonderfully innovative and interesting concept at their hands - RTS integrated with an MMO 1st person shooter - and they could just have tried to attract more RTS players in order to grow the CV population. This would have involved fixing the known issues of the RTS carriers, like balance, GUI and tutorials, and possibly making carriers accessible to new players directly without having to grind through four tiers of surface combatants first. I suspect many RTS fans have little interest in shooter style arcade games. Even though it is a fairly short and easy grind, and also quite useful in terms of didactics. But still. The other thing is the console market. It would be super easy to make consoles compatible with regular, off-the-shelf keyboards and mice - on the technical side - and that's the first thing that comes to my mind, but I suppose it's near impossible to get manufacturers like Sony and Microsoft to do that sort of thing.

remove this kind of rewards from super conttainers no1 needs them...

I don't think so. Ocean Soul is in fact the very opposite of a useless camo. 100% extra XP is average and nice to have. There are lots of "power" camos that give less. And remember, everything that ups the Ship XP, at the same time also ups the commander XP by the same amount. And among over 53 "power" camos, there are only nine that give any extra credits at all if I'm not mistaken. The best ones, For Meritorious Service and gamescom 2016, give 50% extra credits but they give a lot less extra XP that Ocean Soul. One could do a lot worse in a Supercontainer, especially F2P players.

    Concerning the upcoming CV rework

There are in fact many problems associated with the current RTS-mode CVs. Some have easy fixes, many others don't. Many very experienced and skilled players specializing in carriers have put forth a great many carefully though-out suggestions. The thing is though, for some reason Wargaming chose to ignore all of that free and competent input.

Damage Control Party Modification 1 from Arsenal, which slot does it go to?

Just don't do it. It's not worth it. Possible exception - IJN/USN Aircraft carriers, which have a base Dam Con Party duration of 30s. But then they would have to sacrifice Air Groups Modification 1, which I don't suspect many would do. Other than that, USN BBs have the longest DamCon duration at 20s. So what they gain is eight more seconds of duration. All others gain less, most ships gain far less. So the best you can hope for is eight extra seconds of protection from fire, flooding and incapacitations after you have used the damage con party. There are definitely situations where even those few seconds could conceivably save your bacon. But they don't really crop up often enough to be worth sacrificing whatever standard upgrade you have in slot 1. Not by a long shot. Worst Experiences this Ranked Sprint so far.

All in all, this sounds a bit like what is happening each week in the Operation of the Week: You need to hit a 'sweet spot' period to get some decent team mates, after which things go downhill fairly quickly. All in all, with the exception of the two sabotaged games I mentioned earlier, Ranked Sprint has been a great experience for me once again. Especially with the 5x5 format, which means that everyone's contribution is all the more crucial. But I did it all on the second day. This probably meant that most of the best players already ranked out and I was left with still a fairly high number of great players, mixed with a lot of players close to my own mediocre skill level. Or it was distorted by the Holidays, what do I know.

5250 doubloons, what would I buy?

Your selection is a bit limited with this amount of doubloons, but there are some fun mid-range DDs to be had. I'd go for Okhotnik, after which you'd still have half of them coins left for other purposes. That ship is both ridiculous and fun, and also a fairly strong Tier V DD once you figure it out. Or blow it all on Leningrad, which is still an excellent and very fast Tier VII DD. Sims' price is in the middle of those two and the ship is also a good choice, especially if you consider yourself a team player first and foremost. Your smokes are no longer quite as useful for your team as depicted in the respective Flamu video because WG have increased the smoke firing concealment penalty since. But it's still a capable ship with fairly good AA for her tier, which in contrast to Kidd does not come at the expense of the torpedo armament. Or you could save it for now and bank on WG possibly making the T-61 available for in-game purchase from the Tech Tree one of these days. It is about the strongest DD of Tier VI, if not ridiculously overpowered. It would be bound to be in your price range since they sell the Z-39 at a just slightly higher price, 5,900 doubloons. However, there is the risk they may just not do that in the foreseeable future, or possibly even do the opposite and remove the ship from sales completely. You never know. Anshan is another DD I regard highly, it's basically a Gnevny (so lots of speed and firepower from hard-hitting guns) but with twice the torpedo range. And these are not deep water torpedoes, so worse concealment but you can actually threaten destroyers with them, too. Which I like. It is of course particularly useful to have as a captain trainer, should you plan to grind up the pan-Asian tech tree line one of these days. This is not something that can be said of Blyskawica. Even if WG should add more Polish ships in the future, it's bound not to be a complete tech tree line. Still, the ship is regarded very highly in the community. I haven't even gotten around to try mine yet since it is a recent acquisition. If you're not Polish and simply want the ship for patriotic reasons, then this would probably be a ship to get only after you have maxed out a few commanders from the big main nations and use them to regularly grind lots of Elite Commander XP, which you can then use to level up the Polish commander more quickly. This has all been written with the regular prices in mind, while I just read in another forum post that the current tech tree discounts also seem to affect the premium ships. If that's true, then this might put DeGrasse into your price range, which is probably the best cruiser you can get for your gold. It's slightly sturdier and less gimmicky than the regular Tier VI French tech tree cruiser La Galissonniere - doesn't get a reload booster but has quicker firing guns as standard. Or you could get several of the DDs mentioned, like an Okhotnik plus a Sims.

    Why do people dislike stats?

I'd like to take this opportunity to once again point out that it is just bad English to confuse 'statistics' with 'specifications', which is something Wargaming (and consequently, the player base) routinely does when it comes to ship parameters, even in the Wiki, probably due to some translation issue from Russian, and this practice needs to be stomped out and eradicated.

    How to uninstall ports?

Hi, my client keeps switching back to the twitch port each time I turn the PC back on. Does anybody know a way to just remove that port? Delete some files maybe?

Worst Experiences this Ranked Sprint so far.

My worst experiences were two games where one of the DDs on my team immediately sailed up to an island where he contributed absolutely nothing at all and stayed there for at least the first half of the game. I don't remember what the first guy did after that, but the second one at least torped and killed one enemy ship. This was on the Strait map and his island was one to the east of the centre cap. After that though, he went on to troll us more - troll even being a part of his nick - by partially capping the south cap, only to then reverse out of the cap again for no good reason. I consider both of them unsporting saboteurs and reported them to customer service via the Ticket system, but to no avail. And although it was basically the same offense both times, I got two different automated boilerplate replies. One was answered with the "Unfortunately, we can't manually ban or unban for this type of action. This is because we have an automatic system that takes care of team killing" standard text block and the other got the canned "I'm sorry that you feel like another player had an unfair advantage over you. After reviewing your case, I have to inform you that we do not manually investigate replays in such cases, since we published this article" blah blah blah response. Needless to say I am exceedingly unhappy with both of them.

    Discounts on tree ships

It must really be super hard for today's marketing interns to come up with an apt title for a press release. I blame general education!1

    So what is this?

Probably the others had already been waiting for a few minutes and MM roped you in to avoid even smaller team sizes. I've had 1v1 already.
