    Submarines: the next step.

    There, fixed it for you.

    Submarines: the next step.

Well there will be a no-deal Brexit and/or constitutional crisis in the UK within four months, very probably accompanied by a complete breakup of the Union. Other very likely occurrences within that time span include protests in Hong Kong escalating to a civil war, a major stock market crash/recession, and a worldwide general strike over climate change. So I'm kinda pessimistic about the subs turning out great.

    Better rewards for DD

IMPOSSIBRU! The rewards algorithm of course has to be super complicated, and thus too complicated to adjust it for better reward of these less important "support activities". NO fun for you!

    General feedback

Another of the many, many issues bugging this game since forever which could probably be resolved within an hour or so: - Sound effect for the Double Strike achievement is broken, all I get is some distorted noise before the "We got two of them!" voice message.

    Upcoming discounts guesstimates?

Hi, can anybody venture a guess when there will be the next silver ship, upgrades, or port slot discounts? Anniversary in September maybe?

Public Test of Update 0.8.7: Round 3

Waiting times are once again completely ridiculous, and not even the guaranteed "under 3 minutes" limit capped the queue at my attempt to get into a Tier IV battle for that mission series. Gave up after six, seven minutes or so. Best guess, hardly anyone wanting to play carriers (I wonder why?) Also you should have made it clear the missions, especially the Italian cruiser grinds, could be done over several rounds of public tests, instead of making players do it all the last weekend. Once again, Wargaming's greed (=being too cheap to get decent writers/translators capable of formulating the necessary info) hurts players. Also standard of play is almost as atrocious as that of my teammates in Ranked on the live server, which is saying something.

    General feedback

I got a personal mission from a Twitch drop which is a real challenge for me, which I appreciate. It sets three stages of increasingly ambitious base XP goals, each to be accomplished in a single battle. However, the third stage requires to gain 2,750 base XP "in a Random, Ranked, or Clan Battle." It is not possible to do that in Clan Battles since all players get the same 2,500 XP for a win in Clan Battles.
  8. Yeah they're doing all this out of the kindness of their hearts really.

    ships steering

There seems to be a current bug that does that sometimes when you try to use the rudder lock keys q or e to straighten out your rudder. Until WG fixes it, which will probably take at least three more weeks, best just tap D or A once instead and the rudder will straighten itself out.
  11. Flag profiles. More to the point, saveable ship profiles. You know? Like even the Windows desktop has been having for a few decades. And as I'm writing this, I can't believe I'm using a Micro$oft product as a reference for anything.

    The mind-set of the 40-percenter

One possibility is it's an addictive behaviour pattern, using the quick rush to repress any thoughts about personal / life failure, trauma or whatever they would otherwise remember that would make them uncomfortable.

    CV Rework Discussion

Sure. If it's implemented the way I outlined it, the positives would outweigh the negatives. It would also be super easy to make the bots not focus down one single player all game till he's dead, which is super frustrating if you don't have any counterplay. Or train them not to permaspot DDs... The bots in the new operations are perfectly DD-friendly, never even try to hit me. But what they would do is make having a few potatoes on your team a little less painful some of the time. In contrast, what WG are currently doing in the Public Test strikes me as completely pointless. Fiddling with the AA some more. Big whoop. Nothing they do, nothing they even plan will change the fact it is a sterile automatic mechanic that requires no skill and serves just the one function to make the fun-sucking feel a bit less fun-sucking. I was gonna compare it to a band aid on a torn-off limb but I will admit it's more like a morphine shot.

    CV Rework Discussion

That argument hast been invalidated so many times, with all manner of historical accuracy issues, I shan't even bother to repeat it yet again. This is an arcade game. There are a few spurious historical references outlining a pretextual framework, and that's about it. (Also, as RNG controlled bots, they would still be "in the game.")

    CV Rework Discussion

WG wants a great many things. Many of these don't ever come to pass despite their greatest efforts. Clinging to their policy or what they think is best for the game is neither here nor there and should not be relevant for this thread. They also tend to not want a great many things until suddenly they do.

    CV Rework Discussion

Here's an idea: Instead of beating a dead horse that doesn't even fit the core concept of the game, just to please a tiny, tiny minority of players, delete CVs as a playable class entirely. Instead, they could remain in the game in the form of bots that appear at random in Random battles, much like the storms. I wager they would be much more popular in that form than storms. WG could even go one step further and make it more likely for air support to arrive for the team that has taken a few bad trades and would as such normally be at a disadvantage. As we all know, even a small disadvantage tends to snowball out of control quickly in this game. WG has already tried mechanics that countered the snowballing effect to a degree, in the third Halloween event, when the remaining ships on the team that suffered a loss, gained strength in some form or another. This would surely turn around the CVs' approval rating over night. Having one or two completely casual players on your team die quickly on you would not necessarily have to be that bad any more.

No matter how much you fiddle with the AA details, the fact remains that there is little to no skill involved. A sterile mechanic like that is the opposite of fun & engaging. Its only purpose is to lessen the fun-sucking carried out by the CVs. It remains my considered opinion Wargaming should stop wasting efforts on that class to please a tiny, tiny minority of players when it runs counter to the complete core concept of the game and is despised to a smaller or larger degree by the vast majority. They could remain in the game in the form of bots that appear at random in Random battles, much like the storms. I wager they would be much more popular in that form than storms. Fight for Premium Ships – The Battle of Savo Island

The thing where you assign personal combat missions that players are "not expected to complete" as a provisional makeshift placeholder/attempts counter - well, apart from creating needless confusion, doing it this way simply does not communicate technological prowess. It should be easy as pie for an international tech company with over 4,000 employees to add a simple, professional-looking and functional, dedicated counter to its user interface for such a special event. Choosing not to do that communicates its own message. This reminds me a bit of writing Toyota press kits back in the day. With each and every new car they promised to get the interior right this time around, you know, with nice-looking materials and a quality feel like a German car. But every time, it was the same nasty-looking shiny old cheapo plastic again.

With the large amount of casual players around, I'd never suggest using operations for cash grinds. Fail chance is just too high.
