Weeeell, I wouldn't call it 'boring' per se. But you certainly have to be in the right mood. Maybe even be prepared to er, stomp a few cheetos and set the right mood.

Why on Earth would I do that? I'd lose my unfair advantage. This is not my problem. It's WG's and my opponents' problem. For ONCE, Wargaming failing to do their basic due dilligence works FOR me.

The only T10s I play with any kind of regularity are Halland and Smaland, specifically to grief carriers. Everything else is just carrier fodder and gets completely victimized. Of late, also sometimes Republique and Kremlin but only if they make sense in terms of the weekend Naval Battles and only because I transferred the best commanders there, for clan battles. I've been keeping statistics for a year or so and been getting on average 36.3% carrier battles on Tier IX but loads more on all other Tiers (except Tier 2 of course.) Tier X is 47.4%. I used to enjoy Shimakaze a lot, and at times my legendary Yamato. And Conquerer - English HE magix will always be funny. But I don't play those any more, because of the CV rework. Besides, there is a feeling of futility playing Tier X in Randoms since there is no grind.

I'm using a crap ton of mods but that makes it even worse if you think about it.

Mine does not. And I even get the extra 300m secondary range out of the flag.

Come to think of it, the best thing to get for coal these days is of course the Kuznetsov captain.

A question: Why is it even possible to mount economic signals and special signals in this mode when they very obviously do nothing because you don't gain any XP and credits directly in the first place? Ineffective combat signals are greyed out to remind the potatoes, but you just let them waste their economic signals or what? And also I am a little disappointed that the icon for the Vampirism buff is not a little Dracula. Or at least a bat or something. I mean it is supposed to be a Halloween event after all, at least nominally.

I like the Anshan, in fact I like it more than the Fushun, but would not buy it until WG fixes the CVs because you get an average of 67% carrier battles at Tier VI and that ship is just carrier fodder, same as every other at the low and mid Tiers. My advice is to save up your coal and mainly spend it on Tier IX ships because, even though none of them are any better against carriers, they only get 33% of CV battles on average. Of the two Tier IX ships currently available, Georgia is almost certainly objectively better but Pommern probably has a lower skill floor and might be more enjoyable to less experienced players (I don't have it yet.)

A great city definitely always worth a visit. Fave beer is Spaten Optimator. Forget the ship though and do not give WG any money until they fix the CVs.

Try the following to relax in these trying times: Play Kansas while listening to Johann Strauss waltzes possibly after ingesting certain herbal remedies. I guarantee you: Not even a CV battle with a tetris player in your own CV will be able to bother you.

I'm no longer so sure about that, ever since getting the 10,000 B reward for just leaving via the Portal without winning the Octagon fight. Granted, that did happen in a game where rather many monsters came my way and I did over a million damage. But still. The other thing that bugs me is this bug where you enter the battle and the hit point bars from the Alternative Interface Mode are just not there. I seem to recall this has only happened on the NA server so far but I can't be sure. The only thing I found to bring back the full interface was restart the client.

But what do you actually get ship XP for in this mode? Because apparently you do get a little, very occasionally. (I take it this help text saying you can use the Ship XP for upgrades and research follow-up ships is one of the usual sloppy WG slip-ups and it is not actually true though.)
