Cpt Skill rework is a big fat cruiser nerf on top of everything else
FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor replied to FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor's topic in General Discussion
Brawler is complete garbage, nearly impossible to proc. And you will not even know you have proc'd it until analysing the replay afterwards. Meanwhile, JOAT straight up does not exist any more. I repeat, they have trained monkeys typing up those new skills at random. -
Campaigns seems impossible?

Actually I'm doing those for the perma camos. -
removal of legendary missions
FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor replied to albin322's topic in General Discussion
It would cost WG absolutely nothing to extend those missions another year. Just saying. -
Need recommendation for 2 Tr7-8 premium ships .
FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor replied to NavalComedian's topic in General Discussion
The only choices that are not straight up carrier fodder are the premium CVs. So since you have decided to be part of the problem, why not go ahead and spend the money and be a big part of the problem. edited: formatting removed! Please think about mobile users! -

Today, after 29 battles in 29 different ships, I reached the qualification stage for silver league. And here's muh best game, just for the lulz, a carrier battle in muh Terrible. I thought it was gonna be a disaster but it turned out great cause the carriers were all complete muppets and I blew one of them out of the water muhself. Need for advice about coal ships
FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor replied to _Lupastro_'s topic in General Discussion
The coupon is good "indefinitely" and the next one only comes up in half a year. Who knows what atrocities WG will be committing during that time. Just don't use it if you don't 100% want the ship in question. Lots of time to decide. They are all just carrier fodder anyway, the captain skill massacre is coming and after that, subs will ruin even the uneven tiers. -
[Poll] Will you use time-limited discount for Premium ships in Armory (25%, 20%, 15%, 10%)?
FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Need to change my vote. I hadn't noticed these were only good for doubloon ships. Not much on offer in that department that would even remotely tickly my fancy, not even on the NA server where I hardly have any ships at all, and in any case, of course not enough to spend actual money on this of all games. And on the EU server, I might have gone for Mainz but on impulse, blew all of my in-game earned doubloons on Satan Boxes in the futile attempt to finally obtain a Makarov, so... -

Nah, Tier 9 only ever gets 30% carriers anyway, on average. -

One of my best games so far was in muh 6-pt Richelieu. And as soon as there are carriers, all bets are off anyway for all the surface ships. -

I'm playing the game as intended. Everybody who has a bigger problem with what I'm doing than with what WG are doing, has lost the plot entirely. -

Chaotic. But I got muh gifts every single time so far, even in muh 3-point Hsienyang on a muppet carrier team. Then dinner was ready. -

How to know when a Captain is specialized/tied for a ship?

Can we cash in our accounts and doubloons?
FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor replied to Barney_Wobba's topic in General Discussion
NO! And don't even dream about selling your account online!! Since it is one of the few things that can actually hurt Wargaming's bottom line, and thus be a tool of organised player protest, it is prohibited by their Terms of Service!!! So do not even think about it. In fact, do not even MENTION it!1 -

Well, it is Flamu's day off, somebody has to keep these fires burning... I have most of the T8 premium CVs, too, they fell out of past Satan crates. Also chat banned again. -
I am impressed how buggy the server is
FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor replied to Humorpalanta's topic in General Discussion
On the NA server, what happens is I start off with a few rounds of co-op farming, early morning European time when it's mostly the middle of the night there. All is (relatively) fine until three or four battles in, I'm suddenly starting to get lag spikes from hell and the game turns into an unplayable slide show. -
Free XP ship removal timeframe.
FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor replied to snadge666's topic in General Discussion
That's certainly one way to try and make players stick with the game despite the upcoming mess. -
This is decidedly not the time to sink a single cent into this game.

Unique commanders nerfed under Captain Skill rework?!
FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor replied to FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor's topic in General Discussion
Worth noting this is not by Flamu but by a follower of his subreddit who goes by the nick "Cit_the_bed". This video on the other hand is the zampano himself: Basically, Wargaming seems to have actual trained monkeys typing up these new captain skills. The more I look at this all, the more appealing the idea of maybe just resetting all captains but not dismissing any of them becomes. After all, their XP may have become devalued but selling it at 25% devalues it even further. And looking at this garbage, there are bound to be at least as many rounds of re-balancing as with the CV rework. Especially since we haven't even gotten to the new CV skills, which include loads of straight-up massive buffs. Demount all modules and straight up not touch this game for a few months. With the vaccine on the horizon and all, it might be a welcome occasion for many players to get their heads back into their real lives and focus once again on what actually matters. -
Here's an idea: Let players hoist multiple iterations of the same signal. That way, they can burn through their resources even faster still and spend yet more money / play time!

can WG explain crap crates from t10 ships?
FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor replied to v3ga's topic in General Discussion
Credit where credit is due, I am very grateful they lowered the Snoflaking requirement from a win down to "make 300 base XP". While it probably further enhanced the patch day effect, aka potato crop, it means I don't have to do all the snowflaking in mindless Co-Op numbness. -
Cpt Skill Rework: More terrible game design
FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor replied to FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor's topic in General Discussion
Why are you doing this? It implies a naive amount of good will on WG's side. I mean sure, the players could come up with that. And all sorts of other stuff. They could come up with a much much better game, in terms of fun and engagement. The point is, Wargaming will not, ever, since all they are about is money. This reminds me a little of my time in the German Pirate Party. A bit counterintuitively, this was not supposed to be some clowning/satire effort like you see in the UK every so often ("Lord Buckethead" etc) but it started out as a serious initiative, powered by IT nerds, aimed at reforming democracy and adapting it to the digital age. Use the internet to increase transparency and participation. That sort of thing. Anyway, the reason I bring this up is, those well-meaning but naive guys let the mainstream media talk them into developing a complete, all-out party platform. And what happened was, after they developed mechanisms and protocols to develop that platform, that was all they ever did any more (apart from the usual intrigue and corruption of any new political start-ups.) Lots of political conventions where they fought each other tooth and nail over the program and platform items, with a seriousness and bitterness rivalling the actual federal parliament, literally wasting hundreds of thousands of man-hours, all the while their actual chance of even just getting elected was marginal at best, once the hype was over. The establishment didn't even have to infiltrate and subvert them. All the ruling elites had to do was sit on the sidelines and watch them destroy themselves. That's actually a large part of the purpose of this forum: distracting players with a toy that suggests they have a degree of influence that their actual power does not even come close to, while stopping them from doing the one thing that could actually bring about change - organising in protest.
