  1. Ranting and bitching is really a uselesss waste of time, it is not actual resistance. Only organised player protest can hope to be effective. https://www.reddit.com/r/flamu/comments/hx9gjj/cvs_resistance_vs_bitching_and_ranting/

Is Lion still a bad ship?

I like it. It's a bit perverse but that's OK. English magic HE will never not be funny. Also Tier IX matchmaking means fewer carriers. Monarch is also far less bad than it used to be. 25s reload and with that stronger belt you can broadside more.

Win rate to qualify for Gold league in Ranked

Lewt's put it this way, almost all my team mates and opponents in qualifying so far were below 50%.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

My greatest achievement yesterday was to not do anything stoopid while watching the enemy Alaska go down in a Seven-kill defeat because he and his team went North around A on Okinawa. (Come to think of it, my actual greatest achievement was not to eat my own head while witnessing this whole entire muppet show. But hey.) https://replayswows.com/replay/119829#stats

Do not give WG any money until they fix CVs.

T10 Best DD's to cap and kill other DD's

Also I mean just to make sure... getting Smaland at this stage would involve a massive grind and massive expenditure of actual money to Wargaming, right? Both, more likely. Did I overlook anything maybe? Asking for a disinclined NA-server account.

    Unable to open replays

Nope, it does not, on my PC. Edit: But what does work - now - is manually selecting the app to open replays with while the WGC is running.

PSA: Commander skills - opt-in skill reset

I'm usually not the one to give WG the benefit of the doubt. But theoretically, this could just be them trying to be customer-friendly by creating a way to reset all the captains in one go while avoiding to force players into a general reset who do not want one for some reason. Granted, that would be fairly uncharacteristic of Wargaming, especially since players have been calling for a mod or some feature in order to speed up or automaticize the total reset, and WG usually implement requested features about five years later at the soonest while filling the mean time with developing botched features that nobody ever wanted. But hey.

And another thing. I mean this mission here. How do they let people do that in Ranked?! I mean how hard can it be to come Top-5 in a team of seven?!!?

    Update 0.10.0 Commander rework video

[Free captain retraining a la McDonalds breakfast burger hack] Yes well, in order to get the most mileage out of it, wouldn't it be good to know what tiers the next Ranked and maybe even Clan battles will be on? Is that already clear? Or what else are you basing your transfer plans on? Should we perhaps open a new thread specifically about abusing that retraining thing?

    Update 0.10.0 Commander rework video

Incidentally, not to derail this hate-Wargaming thread or anything, but does Moskva now get the long supercruiser burn times, too?

    DevBlog stupid changes

I am convinced it is never incompetence but pure, premeditated malice with these guys. A mixture of greed and sadism. Incompetence only comes into play when they are too greedy to hire skilled workers like translators or copy writers for their menial tasks.

    Molotov

Carrier fodder remains carrier fodder at half price. Buying premium ships at this stage is to pay Wargaming in order to be griefed. That goes doubly so for cruisers, looking at the upcoming captain skill rework. https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/144708-cpt-skill-rework-is-a-big-fat-cruiser-nerf-on-top-of-everything-else/?tab=comments#comment-3733370

    Strasbourg Campaign Guide

Can anybody explain to me why the type-specific missions of this and other campaigns are often such a mixed bag? By that, I am referring to wether they play to the ship type's actual role in the game. Every time WG sets out a mission, they have a chance to educate the players as to these roles and how to best go about filling these roles. If used correctly, the missions can be a great didactic tool and the game badly needs that. For example, have a mission for BBs to tank a certain amount of damage ("potential"), for cruisers to do a certain amount of damage or for DDs to get spotting damage or ribbons. Setting such goals incentivises players to at least try and find out for themselves how to best go about doing it. But then there are other missions which run counter to these roles, and trying to complete these missions as quickly and efficiently as possible will inevitably teach many players the wrong things. Like making Battleships do a high amount of damage to enemy ships (even if it is restricted to main gun damage as in mission 4 task 4), or make cruisers collect Spotted ribbons or tank Potential damage. I think it was the 5 Epochs campaign that even hat a mission to get a certain number of main gun hits with BBs. It is downright detrimental. Teacher trainers all over the world tell their trainees you never intentionally write an erroneous spelling or something like that on the blackboard, not even as a bad example, because pupils will inevitably memorize it, which you do not want. As is so often the case with the Trump administration errr, Wargaming, I have a feeling there is probably some sinister purpose behind what at first glance seems to be mere incompetence, but what might it be?

    Unable to open replays

Of course I am. That can't be the cause though since the mods are only activated once the client starts up, which it does not. All that gets started is the WGC which is not influenced by mods.

JFTR after fixing the registry issue successfully the other day as mentioned in the other thread, now I'm having the same issue as described in this thread. Seeing as they launched patch 10.0 today, I suspected WG once again messed something up.

Never expend consumables in order to try and save team "mates".

2 years of WOWS collection -New Orleans camo?

A word of warning, those perma camos are not too good for the grind since they don't give any extra ship XP. They are OK for playing the ships after the grind since they give extra commander and free XP.
  22. FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor

So, are you ready for the crunch?

I fail to see what the big deal with Stage 3 is supposed to be. You can grind it in co-op easy. Task 5 (Cruisers - 40 defended, spotted or sunk ribbons) takes no more than eight or ten battles - two stars (tailered for some English light cruiser or other) Task 6 (DDs, 480k dmg) same All of these concurrently with Task 1 (five wins) done over and over again and you already have eight of the twelve stars after just 20 rounds of co-op. Then you can do the rest with some English BB in randoms while taking Task 1 again two more times. It may be a bit mindless but easy peasy and we're talking like, one-and-a-half to two hours of playing time, no big skill or knowledge involved, no Premium account or high tier ships necessary. The final task of grinding four million credits may take a bit longer but chances are many players are well supplied with the Winter Strands camo at this time, which yields +30% credits, and that's what you keep such things in reserve for.

New ranked is breaking the game

What are you talking about? It goes on till four in the morning CET. #Bwahahaha How did they do it after the CV rework, which has alienated gazillions more players? #Duh

How is new Ranked? How do you like new format in actual play?

The kind of player that ranks out in Silver League: Our Shima (NA-Server) - approaching his sixth year in the game, 45% wr - Spends 3/4 of the game in the eastern third of our own spawn with the BBs in his Shima (all enemy radars were on the opposite end of the map; no carriers) - only crosses into the enemy spawn when their Nevsky changes flanks to go there, after most of our own team has already been sunk, 3 of which killed by the enemy east Shima which he let do whatever she wanted.

Ranked and how i think we could fix it.

"We" cannot fix anything in this game. Wargaming has completely stopped listening to the player base. Without organised player protest, there will be no more positive change. Ever.
